We will win the Premier League in 2011.

We will also reach the Final of the Champions League.

Anderson will never establish himself as a starter at United.

Rafael will become Brazil's first choice right-back by 2012.

Hargreaves will not get a new deal at United.

David de Gea will be brought in to replace Edwin van der Sar.

We will also sign Shinji Kagawa from Dortmund in the summer of 2011.

Welbeck will become an important player for United by early 2012.
Nice work....

I said last summer that Welbeck would see off Berbatov and Hernandez for the starting spot. He managed it pretty quickly after the season start but it didn't go down well when I first said it.
This post is useless without links. Just saying....

Smalling and Jones will be our future first team defensive partnership at the back.

Mourinho or Guardiola will replace Fergie.

We will win the league again in 2014, however Man City will win it in 2013.

Anderson will not make it here and will be sold in a year.

Nani will win the PFA player of the year award while with us.

Well no, if we're being nitpicky... Rafael isn't Brazil's first choice RB.
Yep. He does have a good chance of starting for Brazil in the Olympics according to reports from there. Not quite the same as starting for their full side but it is a start.

Good predictions by John, though most of his predictions weren't exactly outlandish at the time apart from the Kagawa one which he did well to get right (wrong year though). Still, his predictions are better than any I would do.

2012-13:

Neither Real Madrid nor Barcelona will win the Champions League.

United will win the FA Cup.

Anderson will get more appearances than Cleverley.

Giggs will sign a new one-year deal in January.

Petrucci (unfortunately) will hardly play in the first team and will be sold.

Well many think that it will be Evans instead of Jones if you look through some threads.
Yeh but it's hardly an outrageous comment. In fact it's highly likely.

We will compete with City for the league and the gap in the end will be less than 5 points.

Chelsea and Arsenal will finish 3rd and 4th while Spurs and Liverpool put up a decent fight for top 4. Newcastle will be close too but will fall apart in March/April due to lack of depth.

We will be battered in the Last 16 or QFs of Champions League by a top side (Bayern, Barcelona or Real) - like 7-1 on aggregate or something.

One of the Spanish big two will win Champions League.

Some random unexpected striker like Djibril Cisse will be a top scorer or thereabout.

It's this sort of stuff I don't get. How can you make a logical prediction that we'll go out to PSG when there a very small chance the draw will actually go that way.

Yawn...have you nothing better to do man? Does the OP actually say anything about predictions needing to be logical? Right then.

It's just a bit of fun in my eyes and yes it more than likely won't happen but wait....there is actually a logical chance it might!

You suggested United would win the title in 2014, well that's two years away and I would like to know the logical explanation behind that if you are going to be overly pedantic. Let me guess....this team are well on their way to maturing into a world-class force that will by 2014 be ready to topple the mighty Sheik powered monstrosity across the city? Comparisons with United and Chelsea 2007?

Logical?

More so than your prediction that we'll get knocked out by PSG when it's completely down to the luck of the draw, as opposed to my prediction which takes into account the skill of the side and of the managers ability to build a world class side over a couple of years.

Nevermind though, your prediction. Make it if you want to.

My not-so-well-thought-out predictions for the new season:

- Wigan will finally be relegated, along with Norwich and Reading.
- Hernandez will score more than Welbeck, though they'll both do well
- Anderson will stay relatively injury free and start more league games than he has in any previous season
- Chelsea will be out of the title race by April
- Cardiff will lose in the play-offs again
- Everton will have a good start to the season for the first time ever, and be ahead of Liverpool at Christmas then fade away.
- Arsenal will finish fourth

We will reach the Last 8 of the CL.
We will win the Premier League.
We will reach the final in either the Capital One, or FA cup.
Kagawa, Rooney, Anderson and DDG will have very good/great seasons.
Rooney will prove without doubt to all that he's the second best centre forward in the world.
One of City's biggest players will leave within 13 months.
Liverpool will improve massively from last season, but fail to break into the top 4.
Liverpool will do well in the Europa league. (Final 4/8) if they don't field youngsters.
Chelsea will challenge Man City very strong for 2nd, and it will be very close between them.
Arsenal and Tottenham will have a very strong race for 4th.
Newcastle will again be in the top 7 teams.

Most of the claims aren't out of this world, so I'm expecting a reasonably high success rate.

- United will win the Premier League & FA Cup double.
- Man City will finish 3rd after Yaya Toure misses half the season through injury.
- United will do the double over Liverpool, with Patrice Evra scoring a late winner at Anfield.
