The idea that Liverpool are struggling with injuries has been massively overblown.

Because of the style they play they don't need a full strength team to win games. Their style will win them games no matter what.
No it's because they have sufficient depth. Jota, Mane, Keïta, Wijnaldum and Fabinho were still playing. These are technical players who are able to turn and pull away when tightly marked.

https://footballdatabase.com/league-scores-tables/england-premier-league-2015-16

As you can see you can't win the league with 60 points.

Klopp has bought a ton of players since then. You can tell that the coaching is better there but he also needed a better team.

When Moyes came in and sacked alot of people that seemed to mess everything up.

Liverpool definitely have injuries, some of them long term. But they also have depth and, most importantly, one of the best coaches in world football.

They only played 9 games. The season is long and games will come thick and fast, it never disappoints. I would observe how it goes, I am not convinced they will be winning as much as last year. Again, only 9 games played.

I think if we do win number 20 this season it will go down as one the the most unlikely titles in the Premier league era and of the greatest accomplishments by a team to win it. To have the record number of major injuries, no home field advantage and every team looking to knock you down yet somehow win it would be worth remembering.

That's stupid banter, and you know you're wrong. If you want to brag about the greatest accomplishments, you have to win other competitions as well, in the same year. Good luck with that.

I still do believe that Chelsea have a chance. I think they will be tightly behind Pool all season.

City and Pool have competition now.

For the last 2-3 seasons Klopp has played the same team every week and has only really rotated the midfield yet he has had barely any injuries to his key players. He has been very fortunate with injuries (or lack there of) and I don't feel sorry for them one bit. He was probably due to have the injury bug catch up to him considering how much he plays his main players...

Record number of injuries and everyone looking to knock you down sounds like United for the past 20 years, while no homefield advantage sounds like City...

Today we had Martial, Pogba, Shaw, Bailly and Mctominay out.

Very impressive win by one of the best coaches in the world.

We are not complaining about the injuries to Gomez, TAA and Matip per se as they are either lightweight injury prone material (like Pogba, Shaw and Bailly) or just overplayed as TAA was. VvD is superman and did not pull up with any injury. He was viciously attacked, that's different. Same with Thiago.

What we can't believe is our replacements like Fab in defence, Milner in defence, etc, are getting injuries too. Klopp doesn't need a first XI to walk the PL but it would be nice the backups would stay injury free for a while. He can still walk the league then.

However, onwards we go. It was VAR before, now that's against us. Then it was injuries and that excuse is now exhausted. I wonder what straw Redcafe will hold on to next season? I'm going with drugs.

VAR is against you. You mean the three correct decisions yesterday? Cracking up mate. Oh dear.

was that yesterday?

everyone has had dodgy decisions.

your captain came out yesterday and said VAR should be scrapped because they got all 3 decisions right.
I think you've lost the thread of the point. I'm not talking about yesterday's game, you brought that into the discussion. Good day.

The two decisions in the Everton game cost us two points and were both incorrect.

The offside one against Mane looked ridiculous to me.
you got more than enough decisions last season! Beside every team has VAR decisions go against them, it’s not unique, but you think it is.

look at yesterday, even if Mane‘a goal was onside, which it wasn’t, it resulted from a free kick that the want a free kick. No conspiracy.

We got the rub of the green against City at Anfield. Aside from that we had one or two questionable penalties and a couple of possible red cards go our way but VAR wasn’t the issue, bad refereeing was. We also had decisions wrongly go against us such as Firmino scoring a goal against Villa and it being ruled out Incorrectly for offside, but it was irrelevant because we won the game anyway.

There’s no conspiracy you’re right, but that was the narrative on here and the commonly used excuse for us running away with it.

For what it’s worth I don’t think VAR got anything wrong yesterday, and I don’t think Klopp thought it did either. He’s frustrated because our schedule and the lack of a preseason, combined with horrendous luck surrounding long term injuries is starting to catch up with us on the pitch.

I’ve no issue with what Klopp said yesterday, although his rant at TV companies themselves was somewhat misjudged. He has a good point, just the target was wrong.

In terms of VAR, it’s your captain who should think about what’s he’s saying, along with Milner.

It wasn't just a VAR "narrative". It was a "player's doing ludicrous stuff against you" for the last 2 years thing.

Pickford dropping one in on his own like the absolute crescendo of madness. Far too many other bits of ludicrous keeping or brainless defending to mention.

Klopp can get bend with this shit, last season we had a running sicknote galore and no one said shit. If someone says well they have proper players injured well we had Pogba out all of last season and both Rashford and Martial has long term. Shaw was also out for a while with Scotty and Axel missing for long periods as well. Klopp needs to keep his gob shut, this crap comes with playing in all competitions all the time, get used to it.

We won the league with playing games with Carrick and Fletcher as our central defense. If you think you are going to get any sympathy here you are kidding yourself. Stop your whining and get on with it. BTW...your manager also complained about all the games in such a short period of time despite the fact that last year during Sept, Oct, Nov and Dec you actually played one more match than this year...

Rashford played 31 games last season. Martial played 32 games last season. For reference that's more than key players like Fabinho (28) and Allisson (29) played for us. The idea that we had no injuries last season and it's finally catching up to us is absurd. We just didn't let it affect us. Even with Pogba's significant injuries, the likelihood is that at 16 games last season he'll have played more of the season than VVD and Gomez combined will have this season.

I don't it's hard to accept but Liverpool have had historically bad luck so far.

You know that both Pogba and Rashford wouldn't have played as many games as they did in a normal season right? All the games Rashford played after middle of January were because the season for postponed. Pogba was injured 1.sept and is still carrying this injury but played some games in July and August. Martial was away for most of the first part of the season from August to beginning of December. Liverpool are not worse off or harder hit than anyone. Leicester have had a torrid time with injuries as well for example.

Even you must recognise that the 3 month break had alot to do with them playing post lockdown. If not then.. don't know what to say.

You mention 2 players that were injured during periods of last season where we had Shaw, Martial, Pogba, McTominay injured at the same time.

I know you will also give me names like Ox, Keita etc but they are injury prone like Bailly, Jones, Rojo for us.

Carragher spitting facts for once. A couple of injuries doesn't justify 2-3-6 (9-15 GD) in the last 11 games. VVD being out doesn't excuse Alisson, Arnold, Cattermole, Mane and Firmino all forgetting how to play football.
