We simply don't have enough players that are strong on the ball imo.
The only players that are actually impressive on the ball are Martinez, Shaw, Casemiro, Eriksen and Martial (when fit or up for it)
We then have some players that are ok technically like Malacia, Lindelof, Antony, Bruno, Dalot, Varane and Rashford with a lot of them regularly guilty of giving away the ball time and time again.
Then we get to the players that are poor on the ball like De Gea, Maguire, Wan-Bissaka, Fred, McTominay, Weghorst. Some of these have their strengths in other areas but the overall lack of technical ability means that we regularly struggle against teams that have their shit together especially in midfield. Add in the loss of Casemiro in midfield for example and we are facing an uphill battle from the off.
It's obvious we need a lot of investment yet with Striker and a technical CM being the two glaring issues.
