I thought Blanc and Johnsen were both outstanding tonight against Deportivo's supposedly world class attack. Blanc was his usual calm, composed self and i thought Johnsen played as well tonight as he did back in 99. Time to give him a new contract Alex!

Agreed Johnsen and Blanc were just pure class. It was really just a joy to watch--although Silvestre for me deserves extra praise.

I can't see why Larry wouldn't want to extend another year. He's making some ungodly weekly wage. I'd like us to buy Mexes and have him be an understudy to Larry for a year before he takes over.

Silvestre was class tonight. I was just wondering earlier how many goals he has setup this season for Ruud!?

The wish to go when people still see you at the top of your game I guess. He also retired from the french team even though it's obvious he could have continued.

Let's hope the fact a team like United and a manager like Sir Alex want you so much makes him realise there's no point in ending it all when you can still do so much.

McClair said that during the later parts of the seaosn, when he was already 30+, he used to think 'I'm gonna retire, I've had enough of the pain', but once you get away in the summer you realise you don't want to go.
