I think I would possibly take the gamble on Barcola depending on price.
It would be a gamble of course but honestly feel like there is something there, where he could be special maybe. Flip side of that he is quite unpredictable so as much as he does brilliant things he could also be an absolute miss.
Just feel like maybe given the opportunity he might thrive.

There was already talk of PSG wanting north of £100m for Barcola and I don't think the Rogers transfer to Chelsea would've done anything to dampen PSG's resolve in holding out for that. I don't think he's worth that kind of money, but even if he was, it seems as though Arsenal and Liverpool are in for him anyway and I doubt we'd be able to gazump both of them.

I was thinking he’d probably go for 50 mil or something near that - but yeah he’s not worth anywhere near 100 mil.
Like I said I feel like he’d be a gamble. It’s not like you watch him and get a feeling that he is a guaranteed success story and at 50 maybe worth a punt but nothing above that.

Given the fee paid for Rogers and that bids of around 100m have supposedly been turned down for Diomande the PSG are well within their rights to demand that kind of fee for Barcola.
None of those players are worth anything like 100m but this is why you have to be prepared to cast a wider net as there alternatives who can be bought a lot cheaper.

It's a good set of options, not great, but it is what it is. I just think everyone is trying to sort themselves out from a FFP/Sustainability rules perspective and adding a massive wage in Rashford is the last thing they want to do.

Rashford has been punished for coming late before, he didn’t exactly have the best attitude in comparison to Casemiro when he was dropped by Amorim, and he sometimes going to another country in the middle of season.
With all of these, is Rashford a good role model for his football stuff to take a young teenager under his wing?
Anyone know about this guy. He has to be really good considering he is pushing Gabriel and Ajayi down the pecking order.

No way should rashford be a role model for any young player. Shudder the thought. Learning from Cunha, Bruno, Mbeumo etc will be much better for his career.
Why? He knows full well what he could have been and let's not forget, he's had a better career than most players. Most people's gripes with Rashford is how much he gets paid, what he could have been, the odd piss up and tardiness.
If he can tell him what he did from 18-22, that would be grand. If he can tell him where he feels he went wrong later in his career, even better.
We probably bought a cheap left winger because we can't sell Rashford. No1s gna pay Rashford's 350k per week wages, especially seeing as we qualified for the Champions League.

Rashford can only be afforded by a handful of clubs worldwide and I don't see him being interested in a money move to Saudi at this age either.

There's going to only be one way to force him out of the club and that's threaten to not play him at all. Only then might he agree to leaving and accepting lower wages elsewhere, and also get some game time.

I think you can get the same effect by saying, you're not first choice, maybe even second, you can try and earn your spot back - but you'll have to work hard.
He can chose to do what he wants with that. If you try and strong arm him, he'll just wait out his contract most likely. At least if you leave the door slightly ajar, he leaves amicably or might be useful. I don't think going nuclear is a good move when he's on the money he is.

It's not even about that. I genuinely couldn't care less whether Rashford plays for United this season or not. The club will make whatever decision they think is best for both parties.
What I don't get is why some fans have decided to turn him into some sort of "pantomime villain". That's the post I replied to. There's a difference between wanting him sold and acting like he's the root of every problem at the club.

At some point you have to consider it insanity doing the same thing over and over with the same player. Players like Rashford and Shaw should have been sold/replaced/released seasons ago now.
The only way to get Rashford's attention these days is to risk his brand and chances of playing for England.
If we did that there's a chance we can sign an established or up and coming left winger. The spurs signing isn't one that's going to have a big enough impact this season whether Rashford stays or goes.

We just signed a up and coming left winger today, who's been told he will be treated like aden heaven and be involved in the first team.
Thompson seems pretty raw bat this point and one for the future ut perhaps good enough to provide a good cover in the smaller Champions League games opr some easier home games. With enough confidence maybe he can have a Heaven-like breakthrough season right away.
Freezing people out hasn't worked either. He at least has some quality, just his wage doesn't match his quality, unfortunately.
It's an empty threat as well. We're not going to let him sit there being the highest paid player at the club, not being part of the group. He will also know that.
Maybe Rashford can learn from him.
