With Barca showing interest this is going to go to the wire.

My guess: Barca will keep delaying this and Rashford will keep pinning for them. At the end we will have no choice but to cave on a loan with an option to buy deal to at least get rid of his nasty wages for another season.

Very possible, I do find it hard to see Barcelona being that serious over him.

It would be great if we could just take one of these players, Rashford, Sancho, and let them rot on in the U21s for a year just to show we're willing to. Let them know that they have to compromise, not us. As it is Ineos are lumbered with these ridiculous Murtough contracts that we just can't afford swallow that cost.

As you say, Rashford go out on some last minute loan deal, which is the best we'll be able to do. Its better than nothing.

The situation sounds a lot bleaker, of course, when you just conclude that we ‘100% won’t find a buyer’ for any of them.

I’ll await the actual reality first.

I do wonder if clubs have insurance against injury prone players like Luke Shaw, would they have been receiving payments to cover his wages.
