Me too, she had over 100 strokes compared to about 20.Wow the spanish commentators were giving the brazilian fighter the W but actually she dominated the position on the ground but didnt do shit with that. Actually i think it was a right call from the judges
Yeah not a massive fan of it in mma or boxing. The lighter divisions are much better.Heavyweight isnt even mma anymore. Theres nothing mixed about that style.
He did get poked in the eye though.I am not a big fan of Lewis. I personally think he is unsportsmanlike and has a history play acting and feigning eye pokes and low blows to get away from pressure.
I know it’s heat of the moment and you want to be sure, but those two shots were extreme and could have caused serious, serious damage.
Definitely not “super necessary”
I wasn’t talking about last night, he has done it before and I don’t think it’s very sportsmanlike in a proper fight. He did get poked in the eye though.
Playing possum is perfectly legitimate if people fall for it
Plus the talent pool of athletes that size inevitably drift towards the NBA and NFL. Not enough guaranteed money in the UFC to make it a viable option in comparison.Yeah not a massive fan of it in mma or boxing. The lighter divisions are much better.
I think the problem is out of the entire population you don't get people that big in reality...so then out of them who wants to be and/or has the ability to be a fighter? So the talent pool is really poor outside the top few. Boxing for example has AJ and Fury, the rest are pretty shite
It would be a 30 second fight next time. Francis would go in on him like he did Rozenstruik.Wonder if we'll see Lewis and Ngannou run back one of the biggest non-events in UFC recent history at some point, although Lewis said he hates being the main event because it means a 5-rounder
I can't remember him ever faking an eye poke, even the slightest touch to the eye is incredibly painful as well and can do some serious damage.I wasn’t talking about last night, he has done it before and I don’t think it’s very sportsmanlike in a proper fight.
It’s obvious if you turn your back or feign an illegal blow that your opponent will hesitate. It’s not the right way to do things in my opinion.
He has also bragged in the past about his lack of training and application. I’m just not a fan of how he does things in general.
I have seen it on several occasions, only to take a swipe out of nowhere. It is the fighters fault obviously, but that doesn’t make it any more sportsmanlike for me. It’s just a small thing, but coupled with those two crazy blows on a cold opponent, I just suspect he is not the happy go lucky guy that the media displays.I can't remember him ever faking an eye poke, even the slightest touch to the eye is incredibly painful as well and can do some serious damage.
That's their problem if they hesitate though surely? You listen to the ref not the other fighter. Its a legitimate tactic and if they fall for it more fool them.
It looks bad on the other fighters if he doesn't train much and still is now the 3rd best heavyweight in the world. Goes back to my earlier point that its a terrible division
Yeah fair play....I think the 2 strikes weren't needed definitely.I have seen it on several occasions, only to take a swipe out of nowhere. I agree totally with you about the division, it is terrible. I guess that’s the price you pay at that weight and power. You can get by with a lot less cardio and dedication if you hit like a truck.
Hooker is from New Zealand, which has some of the strictest regulations in the world to defend against the coronavirus pandemic. It is working — there were only five new cases of COVID-19 in New Zealand on Tuesday compared to 185,070 in the U.S. — but to make it that way, the country is tough on travelers.
Hooker will have to stay in Abu Dhabi for nearly a month after the fight with Chandler. He won’t be able to travel to New Zealand until Feb. 21, the first time a slot was available for quarantine.
But when he arrives, he won’t be able to immediately see his wife, Isabella, or his daughter, Zoey. He’ll have to go into a two-week quarantine before he’ll be able to go home.
Anyone know why Hooker has to go through a 56 day quarantine ?
You have to book quarantine in NZ I think so he hung around in Abu Dhabi. I don't think it's all been quarantine technically but imagine it's still shit especially getting KOed in Round 1!
That is the last thing you want after a loss like that.
