I understand Jiri wanting to "earn" his win, but he is fighting against one of the very best counterpunchers in the game. You can't just walk in with your usual hands down style. Generational fumble by Jiri.

He could have just unloaded on that leg, got bis W without any damage, took the belt, went back in the ring in 3 months.

This way he won't be cleared to train for the next 3 months, then fight camp etc. He will be close to 35 the next time he fights, with a cracked chin.

Yeah, Jiri got undone by his own warrior code, he knew that leg was cooked and he let him off easy and paid for it, credit to Ulberg for staying composed and capitalizing on Jiri's mistake.

And Jiri will still probably come back earlier than Ulberg, sadly.

Ulberg himself is already 35 years old, although looks younger. He will be back by the time he is closer to 37 years old and with a crippled leg.

Light heavyweight division will be in shambles for a while. The top 15 fighters are either old as feck or crap as hell.

We probably gonna get Borrachina vs Ankalaev or something like that for the interim belt.

Honestly with Pereira moving up, i don't know what to make of the duvis now. Costa vs. Ankalaev does sound interesting on paper. People forget that Ankalaev is primarily a kickboxer, but can also wrestle. On the other hand Costa doesn't have to cut too much weight, so his cardio will probably benefit from it. Those kicks last night were vicious.

It definitely is. There is no better option for a potential interim belt.

Borrachina looked really good last night vs the 6th ranked so I hope he commits to the division.

Must say, ever since Paramount took over the UFC, cards have been quite underwhelming.

Wow! Jai Herbert was out in the first minute then came back like a boss. He hits HARD! The accuracy, precision and power of those punches was wild.

I guarantee the crowd understood his celebration speech about as well as Nallo understood how he lost after the start he had. Or how he understood how to walk when he tried to get up after the fight was ended by the ref. He was absolutely gone and he definitely thought he had it in the bag in the first minute.
 
In case anyone forgot (I did) it's an early card today, main card just starting.
 
Prates has the perfect MMA build. If he commits, gets his lifestyle in order, he might be the champ one day.
 
Was expecting a much more competitive fight, JDMs toughness was the only reason it lasted as long as it did, Prates is a real problem, dunno how he'd stop Islam though.

Jack has got no power, it was always an uphill fight for him.

Islam is going to take him down, gas him out in the first round, then submit him.
 
I personally blame Belal. If he wasn't so adamant in trying to strike with JDM, he would still be the champ, Islam would have stayed at 155 and we would have seen Ilia vs. Islam fight.
