Deep down, I believe SAF made a deal with the devil (pun intended) and that is the reason we were so successful. No we need to be ready for a huge period of shite, universe balancing things out and all

Just get this has-been out already.

He's going to blame defensive mistakes, but did we score a goal? How many did we score in 2018 again? Excuses all day effing long why are we 3 years in without a distinct style while Sarri at Chelsea has very visibly has his stamp on the team in a matter of weeks?

The buck stops with Woodward but I think he's untouchable. He's strung Mourinho out to dry.

Best hope is that Mourinho walks, I think it would be best for all parties. Woodward firing his own selection would be admitting his own mistake in hiring and then extending him.

Jose should walk, and tell the truth about Woodward.

Once Mourinho loses it, you get shot of him. It will only get worse, and there’s absolutely no chance he’s turning this around.

How long do you leave it? Until the season is done?

Exactly the same happened with Van Gaal and Moyes and it’s a massive waste of time.
We would look like a joke if we sacked our manager three games into the season. Give him couple of months to see if he can turn it around, if not get a new manager by December.

This place wanted us to play on the front foot and we did that in 1st half, we blew chances in a tight match and in the end paid dearly for it.

Also, who is this magical messiah who can replace him right now? Don’t say Zidane, he’s already headed for Juve in a different capacity.

I don't see how sacking Mourinho gets us a new defense. But at this point I really couldn't care less, we're fecked either way.

This thread should've been opened after Sevilla. Not sure why it's taken this long. The man has been damaged goods for a while. Now people are opening their eyes. Doesn't even know his best 11 after 3 years.

There's no way out I think but you can see problems run a lot lot deeper at our club than the manager.
Absolutely mate, I don't disagree with you there. Woody refusing to sanction the transfers that his manager had requested of him (apparently he knew better - he was wrong) but still choosing to keep him on is quite frankly bizarre. The players are unprofessional at times, they have no backbone and seemingly whine and cry at every given opportunity should things not go there way, which is quite a lot by all accounts.

The club itself needs fumigating and it should begin as of tomorrow morning with the sacking of Jose, but it won't. This shitshow will linger on until the turn of the year when it is mathematically impossible to get top 4. Just like it did under Moyes and LVG. Fecking fuming right now.

We look like a joke losing 3-0 at home to fecking Spurs.

What’s the point in waiting until December and the season is gone?

It's also prettying damning that the players he signed for big money are some of our worst players currently.

The Old Trafford faithful are still behind the manager, rather than being as embarrassing as this.
Singing his name yes, it's a show of defiance and support.

But interview them separately after the game and most would say he's not the man / they didn't want him to begin with.

In Ed's shoes, I give it until the end of 2018. But it does feel like we've reached the end with Jose. It feels like it will get worse and worse.

It’s not a knee jerk reaction.

It’s been like this under Jose’s entire tenure. He got lucky in his first season after a shocking league campaign we had the easiest run in the Europa League that allowed us to qualify for the Champions League.

Second season, football was good for the first 5 games. Lost to City in December and since then it’s been inconsistent at best.

Pre-season and the start of this season has continued from last year.

He’s had plenty of money. Fans always want managers to spend more money. There are weaknesses in this squad he hasn’t sorted.

It is however the wrong time to get rid of him. There is no one available right now.

Maybe the next manager can organize a midfield that isn't totally useless. People will focus on the defense because it's the current narrative but our midfield is far worse and it's not only putting the defense under pressure but also putting our attackers in losing positions.
I am sure a few managers could do something given time, backing, a non volatile, low pressure situation and a squad that was made for a at least a similar brand of football to their own. I don't think Mourinho will be able to turn it around, but if I would have to make bet between the next manager being successful or United spending a at least few more years in the wilderness, I'd bet on the former.

If Woodward sacks Mourinho, he should also sack himself. It's only fair as he's also our DOF who vetoes transfers and understands football so well. Clearly he's responsible too?

Cannot wait for the same type of thread in 2-3 years when Mou is finally fecked off and we've gotten ourselves a new X. It will be preceded by 'Why the feck are Jones and Smalling such donkeys and what the feck are they still doing at this club' type of thread, the question still valid so many years after. Funnily enough, going by our last two games that were lost due to individual errors (painful as it may sound to some, we've had Tottenham in the first half, it's Jones being a fecking donkey yet again that opened the flood gates), we've got no fecking CBs at this club.

Don't need a long explanation.
We are going backwards. He has lost the dressing room.

Time for change.
Lost the dressing room?

Defensive errors and poor finishing first half today lost us the game.

The performance looked like they were playing for the manager.

Shit thread.

All we can go off is what we actually see, which is fans staying behind to applaud and give support to their manager.

I dont think most really understand how far behind United is the other top teams. Sarri Chelsea would have beaten united 5-0 today and dont get me started about Pep city. MOU OUT.

I don't even blame Woodward for losing faith in Jose's transfer choice, I feel the same way.

What does make me furious? Woodward should have fired him the same day that he he realised that he doesn't trust his manager

I never take any joy from a United manager being sacked. Not Moyes ,LVG or even potentially Jose.
Now,I dont agree with the managers above philosophies but they deserve respect for what they've achieved in their careers.
They dont come to United wanting to fail and I think we,as fans, need to remember and understand that.

We could see it coming when he was hired. He isn't and will never be a long term fit or even a good enough fit for us. Hopefully Ed realises that and gets someone that understands what Manchester United stands for.

I wouldn't say someone in Stretford end would say that they want Mourinho out. It's just sad that fans leave OT before the game is over..

The manager needs changing but so does the structure at the club. It’s clear Woody is a clueless fecker when it comes to signing players & we need a DoF to help him.

It actually baffles me to know that people would willingly give him more time. I mean, have we not learnt from the LVG and Moyes fiascos? It just gets worse and worse until the season is finished and United are laughing stocks up and down the country.

Even as someone who's incredibly wary of sacking our manager three games into the season, lest it be too reactionary, I don't think "it's too early" is a particularly strong argument. If you're of the view that he's genuinely not good enough for the club anymore and that his approach just isn't working, then it makes for sense to rectify that immediately instead of waiting till December when any title hopes are hypothetically gone and we're in an uphill battle to get CL football.

Feet up at home.
The last two weeks he would have every excuse to call out players.

He's chosen not to and try and work through it. Respect him for that.

Pogba didn't even look like he was arsed again. I'd get rid of him before Jose.

Get him the feck out of my club. And not just him, get that cnut Woodward out. Both are as useless as each other but Woodward has been useless for 5 seasons in a row. How he is so high up at one of the biggest football clubs in the world is beyond me.
Woodward is a money man, not a football man. He needs a director of football there to get us back on track on the pitch. And we need one yesterday

Just a question to those who want Jose out -- how much of today's game was his fault? The first 40 minutes seemed to be so good. Wasn't it more down to individual errors that we lost the game?

I think Jose should go if he feels he can't coach these players anymore, but can a new manager get more out of a defense with Bailly/Lindelof/Jones?
