Neymar has had a great career one of the greatest players of our generation I would probably have him 3rd behind Messi and Ronaldo which is no shame at all, Robben Benzema Lewandowski Suarez are in that conversation as well as next best behind the big two.

Recently saw a video of him at one of the group stage matches 2006 and he was excellent. Was 16 at the time so still a bit young to really judge, especially since he was my idol, but I wonder if it's just another case of "the team went out, the star player HAD to be shit" although he actually wasn't.
Group game? Which one was that? Because he was pretty bad against Croatia and ineffective against Australia, the two games that actually mattered to Brazil, and then only had a cameo against Japan in a game already over. He was only really good against Ghana in the R16, but was still very clearly not even the best player on the team, that was Kaka

He had a bad game against France who had a really good midfield and were hounding him whenever he had the ball. Brazil overall were very disjointed in that game and had no answer to Zidane or Ribery.

My bad, I assumed it was in the group stage but it was actually the game against Ghana

There's too much biases when it comes to Neymar on the cafe. He's one of the most hated players with one of the best resumes in the past 20 years.
I think it's partly the moving to France and his prime and partly that he's never had that time as best player in the world, the top 2 kept on far past what anyone expected and now mbappe is ahead of him and much younger. I feel like the expectation is that mbappe will leave psg after this contract, otherwise he'll probably face similar bias against him, less so because of his world cup performances, but spending your prime outside the top 2 leagues is always going to count against someone

Is it his sister's birthday?
This was in an article from a few days ago I found

"Rafaella's birthday falls on March 11 and Neymar has been either injured or suspended for games surrounding that date since the 2014-15 season."

 just in time

Is that actually true?

Watching the TV or is it watching me
What is his average league games played now probably less than 20 per seasons in all his time at PSG with this latest set back.

A great player but a massive sick note since his transfer to PSG

Neymar carried PSG to their first champions league final during the final 8 tournament due to Covid

That’s the only positive thing I’ll remember of his time at PSG

Curious, what is the plan with Neymar & Messi? Sell them both? Keep one?

Mbappe is the star player and the CL the Holy Grail, so wondering what the plans are for the next couple of years from PSG (assuming Bayern goes through).

He was having a great season then he got injured at the world cup.

Suffered a dip in form and now got injured again.

Injuries have derailed his seasons at PSG.

he'a a joke.
Why is he a joke for having a fragile body ? What is this tendency to blame players for missing games because they're on the receiving end of ridiculous challenges.
I invite all the idiots blaming him for his injuries to actually watch the stuff he goes through. Watch how his ankle bent for that latest injury

Missing for his sister's birthday every season is probably not a coincidence is it? He might really have been injured or he might be faking it since he has special privlieges at PSG and they let him do whatever he wants.

I mean, the injuries are real and everybody can just rewatch how they happened. So either it is coincidence or he would have had to stage this - bribe players from other clubs to injure him on purpose, for instance.

"Coincidence" is the wrong word by the way. There could be an unrelated reason behind it. Maybe his body just gives in this time of the season for whatever reason (exhaustion, bad recovery, not made gor the strain of professional football, nutrition, mental problems, ...). One way or another, suggesting he's faking this is conspiracy drivel if you ask me.

Why did he sign for PSG again?
$$$$$
In his last 3 seasons at Barca he was averaging over 4000 minutes of playtime.
Comes to PSG
1st season - 2700
2nd season - 2351
3rd season - 2386
4th season - 2304
5th season - 2328
6th season - 2362
He's averaging less than 27 games per season in minutes played and goes missing every time his sister's birthday is around the corner. I mean injured

You can actually watch all his injuries, maybe his opponents conspire to hurt him during this period of the season...

They all want him to be with his sister. Birthdays are big deals.

His opponents pretty much conspire to hurt him all season long. Well not hurt him, but they play him very aggressively. In my opinion, Ligue 1 is the most physical of the top 5 leagues, and that's a good thing, but that's also a way to make up for the lack of talent, where we're dead last. Something needs to be done to protect players because at this point the talent gap is so huge that hurting a guy like Neymar and taking him out of the pitch is worth getting a red card because he's better by himself than your own 3 men frontline.

Mbappe said this week-end that his future is not linked to CL results.
PSG wants to keep Messi and get rid Neymar from the rumors

From a fan point of view, the team is obviously more balanced with only 2 of them. And only Neymar / Messi without Mbappe is a terrible team with the lack of depth
