The Premier League as a whole will stay spend hundreds of millions on transfers this summer, feels so wrong when clubs are effectively going out of business because they're short of a few thousand.

Good luck to Altrincham in the National League play offs semi final on Sunday after finishing 4th in the league. They have a tough single-legged away match at Bromley (3rd).
Sympathies to Gateshead who were 6th, they got chucked out of the playoffs at the last minute. All prospective Football League clubs have to provide a gurantee that they'll have a stadium to play in for the next 10 years. Gateshead's stadium that they've played in since the 70's is owned by the council but they are currently looking for outsiders to take over the running of it. The council said they could give them a 10-year lease but that whoever takes over the running of the stadium could re-negotiate terms. The EFL weren't satisfied with this and although the National League tried backing them up they were told that they wouldn't be accepted into League Two even if they won the playoffs. As such, there was no point in them being in the playoffs.
Quite a famous stadium at Gateshead as it's used for athletics too. Was a fairly big TV sport when I was a kid when we had UK athletes like Linford Christie, Steve Cram, Seb Coe, Sally Gunnell and Colin Jackson competing. The stadium would often be on ITV or BBC for that. A bit more recently Jamaica's Asafa Powell equalled his own world record at the time for the 100m there, running 9.77 in 2006.

Good luck to Alty Robins - used to watch them as a kid before getting a United season ticket, always had a United connection since several of our Youth teams have used Moss Lane as a home ground
