Roy's "that's his job" shtick is getting a bit old hat by now.
Just want to highlight this. Whilst I've watched this podcast fairly regularly, I've kind of lost interest in it lately. Partly due to the fact that we have been in such a negative state as a club for so long and we have finally been able to have a good few weeks of positivity and comments like Keane's just suck positivity out of the room. Whilst he was entertaining in the beginning his schtick is really wearing thin. Additionally, when you get past his "character" he doesn't really provide any real insight.
Ian Wright was pretty exasperated with the whole 'it's his job' line. You can see even Nev is bored of it. He just ignores him for the most part.
Yep, in a nutshell!Overlap is an awful show. Everyone now cariactures of themselves. Keane always angry. Wright always gurning. Neville always "to be fair, to be fair" with his arms up in the air. Carragher saying next to nothing. Jill always interrupting and saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. Yawn.

Harsh on Ian Wright but otherwise yeah. Not really worth a listen unless they have a really interesting guest on.Overlap is an awful show. Everyone now cariactures of themselves. Keane always angry. I have watched on the tube a few times but this week i listened in the car which was a different experience. You really notice when they all talk over each other, especially Jill when she starts to make a point before the other babblers join in/talk over her on a completely different point. The episode will do well, the timing of Ange coming in was perfection, even if completely coincidental with Franks sacking.Overlap is an awful show. Everyone now cariactures of themselves. I originally tried listening to it as audio in the car and it started giving me a migraine. He always seem to do that in regards to United players. Maybe he does hold them to a higher standard but he could throw a bone once in a while. And when a striker great like Wrighty emphasizes the technical difficulty of Sesko's goal v West Ham one should probably just shut up and give a listen.I love The Overlap, follow it religiously. Never got the Neville hate (mostly). Their nonsense with Sesko is absurd. Keane honestly was a joke on this last one. Gyokeres is a hit, but Sesko is a maybe? What a clown take. He absolutely does this on purpose too.
Sesko has had 10 times a better season than Gyokeres who has, lets be honest, largely been a huge flop. Much older and looks like a fish out of water. Won’t stop Roy though, “look at me I have such incredibly high standards for United and I’m so unbiased towards them”. Give it a rest old man.
Rant over.
He's bloody entertaining to listen to

Roy much better when he's a little more positive and not chasing headlines. Martinez was a decent guest too.
Edit: I think Martinez is a little deluded about Ronaldo when he says Ronaldo doesn't care about winning as much anymore, it's about helping the younger players. Yeah right![]()
What's Neville thinking there? They're nothing alikeMartinez is a great waffler. Talks as if he's an elite manager when he's a good one but not that top echelon.
It did make me laugh though when Neville said Neto is a Hazard type player and Martinez gave him a blunt no.

When Ian Wright was speaking about some of Sesko's recent goals and praising his finishing, I was thinking ''Roy, don't say it, don't say it, don't say 'that's his job', don't say it''.
Roy didn't say it and hopefully he caught the hint a couple of weeks ago that the 'that's his job' line has run its course unless he's talking about something really simple being executed like a striker scoring a simple tap in.
I enjoyed it. Seems honest enough, basically admitting that he barely trainedHe's boring, isn't he? Not an overly interesting episode. He turned down United twice and Zidane didn't do much as Real Madrid manager were the talking points.

I liked the bit where he spoke about Madrid. In a world where people try to analyse football way too much and how coaches are performing tactical miracles, to then say you won 5 CLs by doing basic training and just getting the job done was funny.I enjoyed it. Seems honest enough, basically admitting that he barely trained![]()
