The Overlap | Micky van de Ven: Spurs’ Season So Far, Ange vs Frank & Toughest Opponents | The Overlap Exclusive

Show has jumped the shark completely. Keane is awful on it. Really depends on the guest.

Not as bad as the fan one though with Carragher and Scholes. The United fan is brutal.

Rooney’s sidekicks on his own podcast are awful too. Really bad.

Is there any good YouTube football podcast now? All boring really.
Football Cliches. A niche one, but if it's your thing, it is a really fun couple of episodes every week.

Edit: Not on Youtube

i can’t see the appeal in the majority of them. the interesting parts are anyone/thing that gives you a peek behind the curtain. the sir alex years have been done to death now. would be interested in hearing about van gaal onwards and woodward, glazers etc.

Scholes talking about his son was really touching and tough to hear. Felt like he broke nearly a couple times which isn't surprising, and it is great how much he shares

Another great episode. They should ask Fergie to come on. Although Roy might have to miss that episode.

Yeah, completely ok if it comes to that, if he can't get over his ego, he can stay out for one episode.

Wouldn't be an issue. I love Keane but I love Fergie more :D

Makes me miss Fergie and Scholes so much. Those days were taken for granted honestly :(
That's a man secure in his position as the governor, who knows that what he says goes.

Inter Milan have come in and offered arguably your best player double his salary, he's come to you with this news and reckons he's due a raise in light of this - and you confidently tell him he's fine where he is.

Yeah absolutely. That kind of authority is over though. The best bit is that he earned that authority and was never a power figure just abusing power.

Hmmm ... The man was an absolute legend and I love him to bits but let's not make him a saint. SAF wielded that power, sometimes unfairly, however, I think it's fair to say what he did, he mostly did for the benefit of the club.

Christ. Talk about missing the point. Don’t care what he did as manager. He was 99% right.

It’s what he has done/not done since.

My mate has a heavily autistic son and he tells me about how his life has changed and it sounds so hard. I have no idea how he has the strength to go through it. Fair play to him, I would really struggle.
I never knew Scholsey had this challenge. On the one hand it is heartbreaking but on the other it is so nice to see how the normally unemotional Paul just shows his unending live for Aiden.

Would like to see a few more managers or international players coming on than more ex team mates. It gets a bit stale hearing from people in the same circles all the time.

Obviously there's a language barrier, but I'm sure they could find a good that could do it.

Great episode, and very moving to see Scholes open up on how difficult it is.

When Wright asked him "was football a break from it?" and you're expecting him to say "Yeah it was"....he just flat out said "No. There's no break from it."

It's heartbreaking.
Its unbelievably tough. Especially if your kid is non verbal as well. Will catch that episode, though I may struggle to watch it as it's too close to home.

Huge respect for Scholes, as there are celebs in different occupation, who are very very well off financially and they can't cope so the kid ends up in assisted living or care home of some kind.

Not exactly that excited for this one/feels too soon to bring him back. I'll listen obviously but doesn't feel like we'll learn anything new other than his time at Besiktas

Again? He was on recently, they have run out of guests it seems.

Most likely someone cancelled on them again and they got Ole on a short notice as he lives in Manchester.

I don't think they have ran out of guests, but I do think that Nev is becoming a bit tiring and boring to watch.

Here some guest ideas for them:

Sir Alex Ferguson
Mike Phelan
Dennis Bergkamp
Tony Pulis
Roberto di Matteo
Henrik Larsson
Steven Gerrard
Yaya Toure
Warner Herzog
Paul Gascoigne
Robbie Keane
Jamie Vardy
Kaka

Think Jose would be a pretty interesting watch as well. Drogba comes to mind too.
Ranieri for Leicester's league winning team.

They should get Messi and Ronaldo on together. Make them argue out who was the best once for all then Gary can have the final say

Wonder how Keano would be with Fergie on. It might end up being a healing experience for them with Wrighty as the horse whisperer to Keane.

I'd love to see more guests in the vein of Gullit. Players that played at the peak of Serie A and other countries for some of that insight. Maybe Toni Kroos could be an interesting guest, recently retired so has insight on today's game and played at 2 of the biggest clubs in the world.

It’d be fecking awful for Fergie, Keane would absolutely call him out, but we need to remember Sir Alex is an old man now, i don’t think it’d be a very pleasant experience for anyone.

Seedorf would be great

Frank Rijkaard too, what's he up to these days?

I don't know if he would really. Keane gives it the big 'un but in a situation like that with an old man in front of him I doubt he's going to be a twat.

I think if Sir Alex was going to go on he'd have done it by now.

He made a brief cameo on a Rio podcast with Carrick, and said something along the lines of don't put me on that fecking podcast.

I wonder if he'd go on Rooney's BBC one, I know they didnt finish on great terms but I don't think Rooney hates him.
