The Overlap | Solskjaer: Management Future, United Memories & Besiktas Experience | Stick to Football EP 102

Thought it was a really good one - time flew by, just seems a good guy and interesting he's played for some different teams

I usually find Hasselbaink fairly boring as a pundit but he comes across a lot better in this.

I met him at Heston services on the way to Chelsea away about 6 years ago. One of the most miserable people I have ever met.

Been a while.

Think they've had good guests on so far. I enjoyed the last one with Des Walker.

Nice sycophantic start - is this the most famous, admired guest etc

Not sure there’s that much to be admired about a man who decided to cajole an entire football club into visibly supporting a racist

Funny that Des said how fast Keane was, a couple of times. Not widely acknowledged and must admit, I’ve never associated him with speed, along with tenacity, energy and game management etc
Very enjoyable episode. Gazza’s “knee goal” :)

I won't listen to that episode, but I'd imagine it's like the Howard Webb one, just softball questions.
I'm not listening to that either but had a look at the comments. Seems that him defending a racist has well and truly been swept under the carpet now.

Roy is such a mood

"I should do my own podcast on my own"

I absolute get that feeling under such type of sun and breeze, even bettter in such place, it's the best feeling.

PD: that t-shirt is fire, near the Vatican? even more

Scholsey not doing any punditry (just podcasts now) so he can look after his Autistic son (which I can't even begin to imagine how difficult that is)

Great episode, and very moving to see Scholes open up on how difficult it is.

When Wright asked him "was football a break from it?" and you're expecting him to say "Yeah it was"....he just flat out said "No. There's no break from it."

It's heartbreaking.

Show has jumped the shark completely. Keane is awful on it. Really depends on the guest.

Not as bad as the fan one though with Carragher and Scholes. The United fan is brutal.

Rooney’s sidekicks on his own podcast are awful too. Really bad.

Is there any good YouTube football podcast now? All boring really.

Sounds like you are the problem here ..

My mate has a heavily autistic son and he tells me about how his life has changed and it sounds so hard. I have no idea how he has the strength to go through it. Fair play to him, I would really struggle.

Love the Scholes episode, bits about United and how he opened up about his son. A friend of mine has an autistic son and although its not as severe as Scholes' son he still has to have 3 or 4 activities after school to keep his mind occupied and friend's life evolves around that all day every day. Hearing him about football I wish I could watch old United games live again with him in his pomp.

My brother in law has 2 autistic kids, one more severe than the other. It is a massive effort for him and his missus and I take my hat off to him. So life changing and fair play to Scholes.

Just started the episode and Scholes' bit was difficult. While he may have money etc to deal with some of the issues with his son, it's the emotional ones which cannot be fixed.
Plus gives you an insight of how working class people would be under even more stress and worry when money is also a big issue for them to deal with regular doc visits, medicines, therapy etc.
