Collins John what a shout

I remember him being fulhams main threat aged about 12, then not getting a game a year or two on, in the Dutch lower leagues now IIRC.
I remember that guy, geesh what a fall from grace.

He's currently playing for Chicago Fire, and the season before that he was playing for some Belgian Second Division side.

He got two Dutch caps back in '04.

A never-nude? I thought he just liked cut-offs.
Marcio Amoroso

Was brilliant for Udinese in the late 90's then had big money moves to Parma and then Dortmund but then went off the radar. Spells at Milan and a number of clubs in Brazil confirmed his downward spiral.
Good shout. Anyone remember Celio Silva, the Brazilian centre back we nearly signed around 1997? Deal fell through due to work permit issues, and then he vanished like a fart in the wind.

Definitely agree with Adu. Remember when he was capped for the USA at 16 and was destined to be the next big thing. Never really happened did it.

From one of the best in the world to playing for Boro'.He brutally fell of the radar, I personally stopped following his career when he joined them
So Thierry Henry's another then? Ridiculous point.

Again another shitty example.Henry won everything there was to win at club football and decided to basically retire.Mendieta joined Boro' at 29 years old.
Where is the similarity ?

 Boro won the League Cup with him in the side and marched to the UEFA Cup final the next year. Boro were pretty ambitious during those years and there were always a few pundits every pre-season penciling them as dark horse candidates for a 4th-place finish in the league and a run at the Champions league.

Clearly a WUM post.

Collins John!

Great shout.

What about that right back that Arsenal nearly captured, the Belgian lad? He was even in Arsenal's squad in Pro Evo Soccer 3 (I think) even though they never actually signed him in the end!

The guy was the best player in the world at one point (even if it wasn't official) and to finish at Boro' no matter a Mickey Mouse Cup won is a big disappointment.
Those pundits were idiots, what can I say

Trabelsi. He's arguably dead.
He was one of four players who really stood out when a very young Ajax side came to Highbury in the early 00s. The midfield trio of Maxwell, Pienaar and de Jong were all about 20 and looked like future stars. Pienaar and de Jong have had decent careers without really fulfilling that promise but Maxwell, who was Dutch POTY a couple of years later was injured in 2004 and wasn't the same player afterwards.

Isn't the Maxwell who won POTY the one playing LB for Barca?
