So Kevin Dunn didnt 'get' Billy Kay so thats why she was released.

The same guy who didnt want Becky getting TV time due to her accent. Yep.

The man responsible for cutting away during important moments like AJs debut, or Edges first spear when he returned. And all that shaky camera and cut camera BS.
I was going to say. This is the man responsible for 100 cuts per minute wrestling. He's diabolical.

I love Billie. I'm not sure where she'll end up, her wrestling ability is average at best. Maybe AEW will sign Joe, Peyton and Billie?

This hurts. I don’t really watch the shows and pretty much just fast forward through most of it and stop at anything that looks interesting and Billy was always funny.

It's not often you can say Jim Cornette is right but his "Fecking bucky beaver motherfecker" assessment of Kevin Dunn is spot on.

Hopefully Dunn's gone once Triple H (who supposedly dislikes him) takes over.

Crews' sudden accent :lol::houllier:
Reminds me of when they suddenly changed where Kofi was from. Originally he was a Jamaican gimmick and being announced from Jamaica, then after several years they decided it was fine to be from Ghana which is where he was actually born

Things like these can really put you off from watching. I know it's fake and all, but this is insulting the intelligence of your audience.

Apparently Akeem the African Dream wasn't actually African either.

It's wrestling. An Irish whip is insulting the viewer's intelligence.

I think Crews' gimmick is great personally.

Also his parents are Nigerian, and he did give a reason why he's now talking in an accent, it didn't just magically change

What was the reason? Probably skipped that

Still weird given he went from American accent to Nigerian whilst living in USA
Unless his reason was he actually has one but has been putting an American one all this time to fit in but now he doesn't give a F

That was pretty much it. He’s felt he had to suppress his heritage but now feels he can be his true self... no idea how that translates to being the heel, but there you go!

Its Vince, why do you think that makes him a heel!

Do a Canadian Destroyer yet? Even Bad Bunny can do those!
Nope, just learned technical wrestling so far. Headlock, wrist lock, hammer lock, reversals from those and a headlock takeover.

Not sure Canadian Destroyer is on the curriculum. Bad Bunny and Miz remain better wrestlers than me

To be honest I would think those things are probably more useful than knowing how to do a Canadian destroyer.

Agreed. And being in England its not a surprise that a class wants to teach you the technical wrestling style as its what we're known for internationally and why most British wrestlers can have a good technical catch-wrestling match when they want to even when its not their style. I have loads of my own ideas for offensive moves, but the technical wrestling is going to be the building blocks that set up most of the match between my own moves. I'm also a big fan of the Sabre JR, Kushida etc style of technical wrestling so I'm happy to learn it

Also looking forward to "Sarray" 's debut on NXT tonight.

I thought she looked a standout womens wrestler 3 years or so ago when I first saw her, when she was first linked with WWE interest at the same time Io Shirai was linked. She had an entertaining technical wrestling style. Despite keeping up with the Joshi wrestling in Japan for the most part I have to say I missed most of her stuff from the past 2 years where she became a top main eventer and was voted best wrestler though, I know she added more strikes and stomps to her style to be more hard hitting.

Pérez this week:

I remember this segment being so well done by I couldn't understand why it made sense for McMahon to be behind the NWO. It just didn't ring true. The suggestion that anyone would rationalize that "since my creation is facing a threat, I'm going to kill it myself!" didn't make much sense.

That was in late February of 2002. Why couldn't they have gotten Eric Bischoff and Shawn Waltman and done it properly? The only thing that comes to mind is the fact that they had just done the invasion angle which failed, and they didn't feel that fans would warm up to a similar angle.

. Frustrating

Day after end of invasion they get Ric Flair
Then within months they get nwo
Then within a month or two they had Goldberg
Then within a few more months they got bischoff

So within a year of the invasion finishing they got a lot of the big WCW hitters

Invasion and what followed is the biggest storyline flop surely as it drove away a huge chunk of audience and cost them a lot of money

The Invasion gets a lot of sh*t online but as a kid I loved it, and think it's some of the most memorable times in wrestling.

The nWo stuff - not so much. I think people only really remember that Vince promo and the Hogan v Rock match.

For some reason I always remember HBK joining and kicking Booker T out as well.

I agree. The most frustrating thing about that is that Bischoff was available and Jim Ross apparently put him off with a desultory call that made it clear that they weren't fussed about getting him. And Hogan claims that he was off the Turner books in late 2001, along with Hall and Nash.

Given that Flair debuted in late November, they could have held off on the invasion angle for a 5 or 6 months and had Bischoff, the NWO trio, and Flair. Further more, HHH was on his way back from injury and would have been another big name during the invasion angle.

Agree regarding how disastrous the invasion PPV was. It did 700K buys, which is by far the most in a non-Wrestlemania PPV on WWE history. That means that a large chunk of the former WCW and ECW fanbases turned in and were looking for something that hooked them. Instead, they got a nonsensical finish in which Steve Austin ( Mr WWF) joined "the alliance", and promptly got turned off.

Ratings declined, buyrates declined, and I don't think wrestling ever went back to being as hot as it was prior to that angle.

The Invasion also didn't have Triple H and The Rock, who'd become massive stars in the previous 18 months for WWF, so just think how ridiculous it would have been if they we're there at all - obviously Rock showed up, realistically the nWo should of shown up unannounced at that Survivor Series or something.

They ruined DDP, who never recovered, didn't help Booker out, who did recover thankfully, even after Triple H tried to destroy him again by winning by BEING a racist in the biggest match of Booker's life. 2003 was wild too, Trips got away with straight up murdering WCW talent. At least the absurd amount of talent that started rolling in after the Invasion allowed the exceptional 2003ish SD to happen with the brand split.

Hhh run in 2003 or whatever it was, that was ridiculous. Him beating rvd in 2002 was a joke too.

Goldberg should have won that chamber Match too instead of a month later then losing it a month or two later back

it all felt like ego stuff.

anyway I see omega wins another title (TNA /impact)
racking up the non WWE belts

Kenny cuatro belts

So he has the AEW title, AAA title, and the unified TNA and Impact titles which is one thing because its unified, but he has to carry 2 belts making the total 4

Its intriguing to see how he will drop them and who to (and in which manner).

How is it being explained that TNA’s champion isn’t a TNA wrestler? Or are they one in the same now, has impact became like Dynamite’s sister show?

Genuinely curious to hear how they’re it, because it seems like it’d be easy for Impact to be seen as a bit of a joke if they’re not even in control of their own title? Intriguing stuff though for sure. Would be great if WWE ever did this and have some proper crossover/invasion angles. I understand why they don’t feel the need to though

Don Callis is the man in power in Impact as co-executive vice president of Impact. He's also the one leading The Elite. He's the one who got Kenny to come to Impact and the Impact guys coming to AEW. So it doesnt really matter that the champion isnt specifically an Impact talent, when he's Callis' hand picked guy. Theres other authority figures in Impact like Scott D'Amore the other co-executive vice president who are obviously not happy about it. But Omega won clean so at the end of the match D'Amore was applauding.

The ppv butyrate on Sunday was estimated to be nine times their usual butyrate.

I'm intrigued by how they're going to get the belts off him too. But the reason they're doing it is clear and it's working.

AEW dropped under a million again this week, but Biden was addressing the nation at the same time, so it's a pretty impressive rating.
