Just watched highlights of it. The ending of Raw was great.

Not too bothered they kept Lashley strong. Because Big E still had his moment, and the crowd went wild for it. So ultimately you made a star, and still kept Lashley strong (theyve had him strong since ditching Lana and joining with MVP). Biggest shame is hes 45, and they cant do this for a 25 year old.

Yeah, again Vince choosing to limit the push of Big E. Would have made him so much stronger had he said, I'm gonna challenge you at Survivor Series for example then have him beat Lashley, then Lashley could have won Royal Rumble and Challenged him at Mania and you would have TWO strong people in a Main Event Title match at Mania.
He's just won the title on the back of a strong singles run

Really happy for Big E. Shame it's come in a period where Raw seems so shit and people are disinterested. Like I haven't heard of anything Big E has been doing for months.

Don't see the issue with that cash in. They've had him announce it before the show, then come out at the start of the show and tell them he's going to cash in meaning he doesn't come across as a complete snake sneaking it out of nowhere. This also helps protect Lashley and builds to a proper match between the two.

True. As long as he wins that without the shenanigans they can still make him look as strong as possible. But that needs to come pretty soon

I think they will do the tag team direction for a while with RKO Bro and then maybe head towards Mania, although Goldberg will be sniffing around no doubt for the Saudi tour

Brock though?
Brock, Big E, Goldberg. Lashley

I think Big E v Goldberg in Saudi could be possible but you probably don't want Brock v Lashley and Lashley losing though.

Watching the new Colourful NXT, also named after the tag team they released and who now work in AEW, 2.0

First match out and Steinerberg with the big win. Clearly going for a big push with a Vince former American Football player and dressing him up like the Steiners and making Steiner references. Then after the match he goes backstage and a bunch of physical specimens high five him. There was 1 smaller guy who had 2 attempts at a shake, but all the rest were same height or bigger including a woman. Maybe it was the former womens basketball player they signed a few months ago trying to find their Jade Cargill

Next out one of the guys, maybe 2 of the guys just mentioned from the high fives. Match against Imperium.

Pattern already established. Big physical guys who are green Vs. guys who are good in the ring with some experience. Also during this match I very much noticed that Dunn was in production because every move had 2 or more camera cut aways and angles and things were missed. I liked that the Butterfly Suplex off the top was a finish.

BFab and Cortez. Pretty much the same, BFab looked super green

Carmello Hayes segment next. Good smaller guy. Paired with a bigger guy now. The action here was not good

Next match seemed to be just to show that Mandy Rose dyed her hair. But it comes back from the break and now Sarray is in there and the match is immediately a lot better.

Ridge Holland comes out for a match. He's a big guy

Kyle out, new guy who is tall straight into the main event

Turns out Holland's opponent is Drake Maverick. I thought he was doing the 24/7 stuff on Raw now... Expected result from a short match

Creed brothers squash match. Big guys

Von Wagner in there with the main eventers. You can see that he's more experienced and better than most of the other big guys, which explains why he was the one trusted with the main event. Not as impresssive looking as some of the others but the commentators made sure to tell us he's 6'5 and played American Football. Things like his timing and bumping were good enough to hold his own

I didnt care about the wedding, but Lumis has been featured for quite a while now and all this stuff, plus his size and physique has always suggested he'll be a Vince guy. Indi is tall too.

Meltzer says weddings normally draw, so it it probably helped get a good rating this week

Last segment obviously suggests Steinerberg going after the title

The episode pretty much confirmed all the rumours beforehand with Vince and Dunn looking for a show that will develop big guys towards what they want as their wrestlemania main eventers of the future

So much for Vince hotshotting Big E and using the WWE title as a hot potato.

The 9/13 episode of WWE's Monday Night Raw garnered 1,670,000 overnight viewers, dropping from last week's episode, which saw 1,849,000 overnight viewers tune in. This was the lowest audience since the Thunderdome era last July.

This was done because Monday night Football returned and well clearly it failed.

Also (IMO) it made BIG E look weak sadly, as the storyline will show, he had just been feuding with Baron Corbin and then challenged Lashley after he had just had a big match with Orton and then Lashley injured himself before he came out.

Typical Vince booking that hurts people, despite the big pop, Big E deserves better.

I can’t remember a period where WWE have put the WWE Title on so many unworthy talents.

Miz, Kofi, Big E, McIntyre, Jinder.

I thought JBL was a bad and random choice back when, he is a much more believable Champion than all of those combined

Why are McIntyre and Big e unworthy?
Even Kofi had a great run that lead to the title

What makes them unworthy?

If memory serves, he absolutely hated Kofi being champion for some reason. Said he was the worse champion ever I believe (below the likes of Vince McMahon, whom he didn't even know was a WWE champion).

As long as Big E being champion isn’t just being used to get McIntyre back in the picture for another McIntyre/Lashley match, I’ll be quite happy.

Ahh ok. Cos the next question would be what makes somebody worthy? Their push? The way they are liked or popularity? If they draw ratings?

Just watched this and this is a fair review. A lot of big guys
It did feel like a show Vince and his yes men would like.

One thing I'll say is that the show wasn't boring even if youre scratching your head at why somebody who is in the world title match has another match, and loses that, and then when you replace injured guy, you then pick another random person

I think Vince will call this a success if he manages to get at least one popular young main eventer from the huge amount of big guys on this show

The nxt we all knew (and most loved) is dead for sure
This will now be entertainment development

Presumably he's asking someone who knows about writing and production, not Adam Cole himself. And if you want Adam Cole to sign a contract instead of joining his best friends in AEW, you probably arent telling him if you have plans to make him a manager or, like all the people his size who have gone up to the main roster, somewhere between US title contender and 24/7 title chasing guy. You're telling him you believe in him and he's going to be a huge star, like Triple H did with Gallows and Anderson to keep them from going at the start. They were huge stars werent they.

Once he's signed he's doing whatever you tell him to. Like they had to

I have no idea if they were thinking of making Adam Cole a heel manager hiding behind a big heel Keith Lee as has been suggested. But do I think thats something that could easily have been the plan with a guy his size and build, a really good talker and charismatic but Vince is filling the main roster and NXT with big guys thinking thats what will get the ratings. And he isnt one. So yeah, that or a tag team with a big guy sounds pretty likely. If theres one thing that sounds very unlikely it would be Adam Cole going to the main roster as a main event star

Is this the same someone who said creative has nothing for Asuka despite her having a busted arm in a cast?

Maybe he needs new sources? Or maybe he's just bullshitting.

You can have big guys who become good in the ring too. Orton for example looked really raw at first and became a great wrestler. Its going to take time though and obviously some will make it and others wont. They'll get their couple of guys they think could headline wrestlemania in 10 years. And then loads of guys who they get rid of down the road because they werent the few who got there. Also they'll probably try and put them in the spot in 5 years instead of 10... Which is going to be too early for some, but might work for others

Correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't this the first NFL with actual fans in the stadiums? First MNF of the season with that fact - and it being a huge game (Ravens vs Raiders) was always going to do massive numbers (think it did between 15-20, across about 4 different channels).

So with that in mind, RAW actually did fine. Without the title match and cash-in, god knows where it would have been.

Ultimately with how it held it's audience throughout, and the buzz coming off the show, they'll probably be pretty happy.

Is this the same someone who said creative has nothing for Asuka despite her having a busted arm in a cast?

My best guess is that there was probably some sort of ideas generation meeting, and someone put forward the idea and it got a big laugh and so was a memorable idea from the meeting.... which then Dave here's about and runs with because, well, he needs all the "news" (clickbait) he can get.

All those mentioned apart from Jinder are worthy champions. KofiMania was amazing - it's what wrestling is all about.

I absolutely loathed JBL as a kid. He was a good heel.

AEW would be smart to stay the hell away from Ric Flair following the Dark Side of the Ring episode that's just dropped and the subsequent reaction of everyone.

Also, Tommy Dreamer.... :houllier:

I used to be friends with a British wrestler who had worked with Flair and he confirmed the man lived the gimmick 24/7.

I've not seen any of the Dark Side of the Ring on him, but I'm assuming there's been some revelations about him that really should be expected considering his reputation.

I've no doubt he is a proper dirty old man.

Will Flair still appears in AEW and will WWE take any repercussions against Lesnar?. I’m guessing yes and no as the culture has only changed on a surface level.

This isn't brand new information, nothing will come out of this doc, it's just interesting listening to different accounts.

Everyone knew about it but it's coming to light now again after #MeToo so WWE may be wary of touching him again (maybe they knew the documentary was coming and that's why he was let go) and AEW may feel the same about putting him with Andrade now.

I havent seen it yet. I'm guessing its about Flair exposing himself naked on the flight and him doing that regularly. Its been known about for quite a while, people still use him

Roman, the little bitch, complained about Riddle...

Unfortunately, I said some things that some people may not have liked and I’m not going to mention names, but they didn’t like it. I won’t say it again. I get it. Right now, all hail the Tribal Chief. Good for Roman [Reigns]. Acknowledge him. Everybody, acknowledge him, okay? That’s all I’m saying.”

So Tommy Dreamer got suspended from Impact today.

Flairs new car commercials also got pulled and cancelled.

I guess Ric will be back in WWE soon as it's always Vince that saves him everytime.
