Call it what you want but one of the shows moving to a different day is clearly better for both shows. Fans want to see both.
Sooner this "war" ends the better.
The fans can see both though, its never been one or the other. You can watch 1 at the time and DVR the other and watch it at a later point. Its not considered as lucrative to advertisers so WWE themselves would be losing out if NXT is DVR'd while AEW is watched, but when it comes to the fans its never been a negative other than the stupid people who got far too tribal especially on social media and just spread hate about the other company.
Longterm NXT was always going to end up changing. And even short term it changed, with main roster stars appearing and the show not being the same as before the wednesday night wars. Those changes came from wanting to do better against AEW, regardless of whether they were positive or improved the show. WWE (Vince if we're particular) didnt want AEW to get a foothold and become something and they have. They have a good tv deal for years and nothing is going to change that for quite a while. Their demo numbers are going up. So when it comes to NXT, its certainly for the best to move the show and not use it as competition for AEW because how they were using changed the show and how well they told stories. Anyway that was the entire point of following the ratings with interest, everyone around the business knew that Vince would not be happy to have a WWE programme just go out and be seen as 2nd best because of the numbers. So they tried a bunch of stuff, a lot of it didnt work and they had a few weeks where they did lead the ratings.
I think honestly if Triple H had been able to just concentrate on good storytelling and matches, instead of all the gimmickry trying to do specific stuff to get numbers - the limited Ad stuff, the main roster people coming in, having to shuffle things around which didnt always make best sense when suddenly someone is going to raw or smackdown and leaving nxt etc then I can believe that competition would have made NXT better. Because it made AEW better. But thats because they werent trying to hot shot things for a number, they were just doing what they were going to do anyway to try and build new stars.
