Television The Propgropthrop

Cena's promo was a bit confusing. Why did he not mention The Rock in his promo?
He didn't need to? He chose to care for his best shot at winning the title and give no shit about the fan sentiment, which by default aligns him with the rock.

Talking of squash matches, didn't Rey get squashed by Khali when he was champion? Rey was booked horribly though

I feel like Khali subsequently got squashed by Undertaker around that time too, despite literally still being "monster heel".

I agree that those were good dudes, but I think they are part of a rarer breed of guys who were super over but also happened to be some of the best in-ring talent at the time. There was a period from Bret until around the mid-00's where you could guarantee that the HW Champ could go. But I think generally in wrestling history, its always been whoever is drawing the most money is going to have the title put on them.

It's weird because Bret and HBK are two of the greatest of all time but were actually low drawing champions. I'm pretty sure Bret didn't even main event PPV's at times during his reign

Nah there were good workers in the HW back in my day. Angle, Benoit, Jericho etc were great to watch. Or maybe they were shit and my standards were low.
2/3 of those guys are/were solid upper midcard you'd occasionally slot into the title picture.

Think @Stobzilla is spot on.

Also Mark Henry and I think Kane if memory serves me right in consecutive weeks. It was horrible pointless booking

I got caught into a youtube rabbit hole of historical Wrestlemania entrances and wanted to ask which one is the caf's favourite?

For me it was Rusev's entrance at WM31 vs John Cena for the US Title.
It wasn't just the entertainment, but I felt like it was obvious for the world Cena would go over and Rusev's entrance reminded the stadium of that aura Rusev had at the time of being so dominant. The heat they got for playing the Russian anthem with an army tank was brilliant too.

What is wrong with AEW and Moxley, by the way, for those of you that watch?

It looks like it’s just turned into a madhouse with no direction and nobody in charge.

Who is reigning in these egos and telling them “no”?

Moxley is the worst thing about AEW at the moment. Some of the other feuds and storylines have been decent, but all of this Death Riders stuff has been absolute garbage.

Saw the nail bat clip. Thought it was ridiculous that this still goes on. I used to enjoy hardcore matches when I was a kid but nowadays, that stuff is shite. You can have a hardcore match without resorting to stunts like that.

That's exactly what happened to WCW.

It is starting to feel like it. More and more chaos and the wrong people seem to have the sway backstage.

Having two marketable stars putting on a backyard match with nails embedded in their back in front of 2000 people is insane

Yes, on another day a nail goes through a wrong nerve and Moxley doesn't walk again, a very stupid high risk low reward spot to take.

I really liked that entrance, but Triple H's at WM 22 pips it.

Probably the most dangerous thing I've ever seen. Madness from both of them to attempt that.

Stevie Richards talks through all of the things here that could have gone wrong (or may still go wrong if he gets an infection etc).

Are they still doing the “it’s not your company any more” type stuff or has that disappeared with no pay off (as far as I’m aware anyway)

Kind of. It's just a completely heatless angle, not helped by it following on quite soon after The Young Bucks did the exact same thing and it also dragging on for so long without direction.

The title hasn't actually been seen since Mox won it and locked it in a case, but the problem is that basically everyone else in the company hasn't given a shit.

You've got Mox & co. allegedly taking over but everyone else has just shrugged and got on with things.

Ospreay has only just declared interest, Okada hasn't, Omega hasn't, Hangman only has because Swerve is no. 1 contender, Danielson just accepted his retirement had arrived, Darby just accepted he'd lost his shot and has fecked off to climb Everest. It's made the top title look completely irrelevant.

Were Moxley and Edge at least engaged in a blood feud to warrant doing something like that? Moxley is known for being an idiot but surely Edge should know better.

Something I've realised these past few years, creatively speaking, a lot of wrestlers arent as clever as you'd think they are.

Or perhaps, they have a bunch of ideas, and need someone else to rein them in and streamline.

There's no way you can make this triple threat feel anything other than forced, since without a title in which 99% of triple threats have had, I can't think of many legit titleless triple threats.... it does nothing for any feud. It's merely filler in all of the ongoing feuds, whereas both Seth-Punk and Seth-Roman could be having a WM blow off finale (for now) match.

They'll likely make it work by creating the ultra hammer blow of Heyman aligning with Seth out of nowhere though... then following it up by joining up with The Rock and Cena on Night 2.... surely it can't be just a triple threat, anyone can win and gain nothing without a killer twist on it.

Are they just doing it to make it headline above the Gunter match to give CM Punk his desire?

Doubt he would want it like this mind - he's been very good the last 6 months at least.

From what I've just watched on Wrestlelamia on YouTube, it seems all three are now trotting out the line that they don't care about main eventing. The rumour is that the women's triple threat will main event.

They don't care because it's Saturday.... Roman's used to being the actual Wrestlemania main event so this is a downgrade, CM Punk is old school and definitely wants the Sunday main event really and well yeah Seth's Seth, he probably doesn't care, just a company guy.

The crowds in Spain and Italy were mental. Brought football energy to wrestling. Yamal's face when Randy Orton decimated Carmelo was priceless  (Didn't realise how much Yamal looks like Rashford by the way - swap Barca?)

Brussels started Ok but fizzled out.
