I take it all the jokes about Midcard Event Jey Uso have already been made? I guess WWE realised belatedly that a nepo-baby selling more merch because they've been marketed more intensely than anyone else on the roster doesn't necessarily make them a Wrestlemania main-eventer. Dunno how they're going to sell next year's Rumble though, seeing as winning it very clearly doesn't mean headlining Wrestlemania any more. Two years in a row they've messed that up.

But that’s nonsense really? Jey has been marketed because he got massively over. They didn’t try to force it down people’s throats, it happened naturally. It’s just becoming silly at this point from some people. Wouldn’t the company be stupid not to react to somebody who has got themselves this over? Or should they just ignore it and ignore the fact he’s hugely over and now showing they made the right decision by pulling the trigger on him based on crowd reactions and merchandise sales?

Any idea when tickets will go on sale for RAW in Birmingham on August 25th?

I feel Wrestlemania is too padded, with them trying to incorporate too many stories. The Cena/ Cody build has been nothing really. Huge difference to the Cody/ Rock build from last year.

There was no need for the Rock to get involved this year. That part could've easily been played by Steph or HHH as they'd be involved throughout the angle. An excellent heel turn is now turning into a nothing heel turn except one good promo 2 weeks ago.

There are too many gaps in this storyline. Seth helping Cena win the chamber and then not getting involved in the feud. Cena not mentioning The Rock,. Even Punk has mentioned The Rock more times than Cena. The Rock not showing up. They completely fecked this up.

The issue with Cena and Rock being part timers. If Cena wanted to main event Wrestlemania at least show up to every Raw/ Smackdown inbetween EC and WM.

Seth didn't help Cena win the chamber though. He just stopped Punk from winning it.

The Rock not being around is shite though.

Is Rock even going to turn up at mania? What about Travis Scott?
It does feel like Cenas turn has lost so much momentum which is a shame.

Solid chance I watch the last of us straight after wrestlemania on Sunday. Gonna be knackered.

I feel like Rock will turn up and then the glass will shatter. The Austin Rock staredown will be massive. (The rumours were they wanted Austin last year but couldn't strike a deal leading to Taker doing it). Reckon they've sorted it and want the bigger impact.

But how does that fit into the storyline? At least last year the Rock was involved in the build-up, so his main rival coming in to take him out made sense. I suppose it's a continuation of that story, but seems a bit stale to do it this year.

Imagine if Austin then turns on Cody too leading to some big ol' tag match with Cena, Austin and Rock on one side. Austin wouldn't need to do a lot it sells itself

I'd rather they don't interfere in the match. Have The Rock try to ruin Cody's celebration and then Austin comes out with the milk truck.

Or just have Cena win it loloutloud

I don't want a near repeat of last year, if Cody is going to win just have him win.

This is the type of fantasy booking where people (not necessarily you), will say a show is bad because whatever they cooked up in their head didn't come to fruition.

100%, people do this all the time and get disappointed. What does Austin have to do with this at all?!

If anything this will be the ‘empire strikes back’ of the Rock and Cody feud and Cena will win.

“I support our president. Trump is one of those guys where he’s got a vast history and a huge background. He’s been in entertainment. He’s been in big business, politics,” Anoa’i says. “At this point, I’m supporting a bright future for our country. Positive and competent leadership. For us to be what we’re supposed to be—to be a world leader and carry that respect and do what a world power like us should be doing.” Roman Reigns

Welp.

Someone will pop up to get involved in the main event. Maybe Orton pops up in a surprise match too.

I've got too many belts changing hands there.

4 title changes…

Roman also said he has 1-2 years left in wrestling. I want another Roman title reign though :(

Did he say why? I always get worried with his health but hoping it's because he's just on to brighter things

Said he would need to take on a less physical form of entertainment. Which sounds like Hollywood to me and hopefully not health related.

I don't think the company wants us to be outwardly political. I don't think, and I do feel there is probably different rules for different people. I don't talk about politics with Triple H, Paul Heyman, Roxanne Perez. It's 24/7 wrestling. I think it's pretty obvious what my 'politics' are. I've never understood Democratic or Republican glazing President. \[The\] President should just do his job. If you're wearing hats and shirts promoting the President and all that stuff, and we have very much seen recently all these people who have voted against their best interests because they thought this President was just going to do bad stupid shit to the people they don't like. I can sort of draw a line in the sand and say when Elon Musk is throwing Zieg Heil up and the podium, and I see people make excuses for that, nope. We saw what you did. Don't gaslight me, I'm not as fecking stupid as you are. I know what you did so I know what you are. Now I know where you stand, and this is where I stand.

I’m rewatching the covid-mania. Seems surreal that happened in an empty stadium. Hopefully never again.

Anyway when are we doing predictions for this mania?

Triple H on ignoring fans and Uso, Roman on Trump, Cena on Vince. The build was bad, but the PR has been terrible. It’s hard to know what people are even thinking when they open their mouths this close to such a big event.

I loved wrestling for about 20 years of my life, and always felt that the modern day concept lacks in ring storytelling and psychology. I missed the big stars and matches that told a strong story.

I really want to give it another chance and started with the Rumble, but I’ll admit, it’s been a tough run since then. It seems like a series of bad decisions and wasted momentum.

I am going to watch, so hopefully it defies low expectations and makes me love wrestling again!
