I'm super late to the party here but what a load of shite Mania was.
It felt like they were trying to appeal to a different or new audience, but then if that was the case why did they stockpile all of the crap onto night 1 and make that into something even an established WWE fan would have struggled to enjoy? Anyone watching as a new viewer would have been baffled why the world title was the first match and why the supposed unbeatable world champion tapped out to a standard manouvre within about 0.2 seconds of it being applied. Jay gets shit for not being in great matches but if that was the planned ending its really giving him and Gunther nothing to work with.
Night 2 started better but then I'd lost interest by the end. Also why did Travis Scott interfere again? I literally have no idea who this guy is other than that he must be famous or something I assume because he's a guest celeb on the Wrestling. It feels very desperate and sad on WWE's part.
Raw the night after was entertaining but that feels like a throwback to the Vince days where it'd be the only show of the year worth watching. Hopefully that doesn't end up being the case.
Absolutely fine with Orton vs Cena one more time. Orton is more interesting now than he was during their other feuds and I quite like goofy heel "last real champion" Cena as well. Definitely less boring than the superman version. The TLC match should have been at Mania. It probably should have kicked off night 1 or definitely been on the night 1 card. Bizarre to relegate it to Smackdown when they struggled to get 1 night of non pointless matchs out of a 2 night card.
