Me. Been to every event in the UK so far. I'd have preferred a normal PPV like All In again personally, or even just a standard Dynamite/Collision taping, but sure this will still be good and I like a lot of the New Japan wrestlers in general.

Nah it's surely gotta be Punk Vs Seth in a big stipulation match (like Hell in a Cell maybe). It'll likely be the Night 1 main event and Roman returns to cost Seth the match. But I reckon Seth cashes in on Cody/Cena the next night to walk out champion.

Cena has to turn face before he leaves, and losing the title will likely start that redemption. My theory is Seth cashes in at SummerSlam after Cena hesitates to use heel tactics to beat Cody. I wouldn't be surprised if The Rock shows up to align with Seth and essentially drop Cena.
Seth and Heyman were talking about a Plan B last week and I suppose this would be it. It starts Cena's redemption arc which ultimately ends in him hitting an AA on the Rock in his final appearance. The Rock probably can't wrestle so this would be the best payoff, especially as they started Cena's heel run with the Rock.

That's fair if you're not familiar with the wrestlers and ongoing storylines. Yeah getting to see Japanese legends wrestle on a big stage in the UK isn't going to happen very often. I went to a New Japan event a couple of years ago just as their partnership with AEW was starting and it was in a sports hall in Crystal Palace, it felt like a weirdly small venue for it but I think that made it better to be honest.
I've been a little underwhelmed by Edge/Cope. I never really gelled with him that much anyway to be honest, much prefer Christian, and his heel character has been hilarious since he turned.

Thus the issue with him just up and losing at Summerslam then "oh sorry guys I failed at ruined wrestling".... cut to the Rock or someone "yes, yes you did fail"... ending up with an AA. It's just weak storytelling in every sense and both Cena and the Rock bring their own writers only to come to this would be wildin'

Look, I get it, that's probably true. But the whole thing has generally been a bit shit, a heel that's active merch merchant still - you'd think it was a slow burn to something but maybe I'm just giving them too much credit, which in itself isn't much. But there's just no business or wrestling benefit from him turning face before doing in his final match, if at all.
If the ending of that final match is obvious, the springboard it can be used to elevate someone else, even if Cody to even higher levels - then the true benefit of this run is gone. Obviously he's losing his final match, he was only winning it if it was for 17... he's only winning by Khan/HHH seriously twisting his mind on it, Cena knows the score, you retire on your back. (outside of special oddity returns, so Austin beating Owens doesn't count).

Most legends don't really put over new talent in their final match. It is usually someone already a big name to push them even higher into the stratosphere. HBK with Taker. Taker with Brock (even though it wasn't a retirement match but the streak ending was essentially the real Taker retiring), Brock with Roman/Cody, Austin with Rock etc.
So Cody would be the ideal person to do it in his final match but that would only make sense if there is a double turn at the end. Might be left field but I could actually see it being Seth. Seth already being the champion and Cena trying as a face to beat him but failing. They are trying to set up Seth as the big baddie so could see him beating Cody and a face Cena enroute to WM where he faces Roman.
I agree with you by the way regarding Cena's heel run being underwhelming. They left themselves too little time for it to be really impactful, especially as I say, I can't see him retiring a heel so he also has to turn face all in the space of essentially 9 months.
This is the TKO era I think. Just celebrity overload.
