Television The Propgropthrop

Agree - that WM match between the pair of them should have shown they should always have remained a tag team. It was horrific.
I think they've been someone what stitched up in regards to their mania match.

Jason Jordan produced two matches at mania XL, the Uso's and the pride v the final testament. I don't even remember the 2nd match, so I'm assuming it was just alright at best.

I think the match needed better booked, what we got was boring and exposed their flaws as wrestlers. There's no reason they couldn't have a solid match under better booking.

As long as the match doesn't last more than 10 minutes

Why wasn't Roxanne Perez a part of the Judgment Day section? She injured or something? But the segment overall was decent.

The masked man section was embarrassing

I did like the CM Punk bit and also the Penta match.
It made no sense at all. Why is Seth hiding from the Vision, who arent his original vision. and it was only two guys. Whilst it was him and about 15 expendables. Logically, even if they are all jobbers, Seth beats up Theory whilst the other jobbers just swarm Logan.

It was like this segment was made in mind with Bronn and Bronson being there.

Also realised theyve changed quite a lot of their champions in the last few months.
IC title gone to Penta.
Womens IC title gone to AJ
WWE title gone to Cody (and Drew before that a month or two before)
Womens tag titles with Irresistable forces.
MFTs beat Wyatts in Jan
Guilia won the US title in Jan.
Carmelo won the US title end of December.

Feels like Punk, Jade and Stephanie are the only ones with longish runs. Surprised given it seemed like Leveque loved his long champion reigns

The Cody/Randy Orton thing popped up on my Instagram and I think part of the reason this stuff feels so flat now is that the commentary is awful. There’s absolutely no drama in it like the good old days.

Or you know, it could just be that I’m nearly 40.

Commentary was shocking for this moment, took them an age to register what had happened.

Weird decision. I can't see people booing RKO, more likely Cody gets boos at WM. Also can't see HHH allowing Randy to overtake his 14 titles.

If one had to be a heel then I’m not surprised they went for Randy Orton, I think it was pretty obvious that was the way they were going to book it and they don’t have the appetite to make Cody Rhoades the villain right now.

At WM42, the crowd will massively get behind Randy I think and I think that it will be pretty balanced in the run up.

Cody won't get boos. Audiences absolutely love him and he's selling more merch than anyone. It's just the internet that slowly gets tired of him.

There is an easy story line for Danhausen/Miz - Since Miz is cursed, he should go on a winning streak, maybe get a belt at the end of it, turn around and start being friendly to Danhausen, who eventually lifts the curse then Miz goes on a Barry Horowitz style losing streak.

Has to be the opposite way surely. Miz losing streak, and to break it he becomes the mentor / tag partner
And they win the titles of priest/truth...
Which of course means danhausen/truth segments backstage

I'm beginning to get it.

You.

Are.

Cursed.
Interesting how many people didn't get it when he was with aew
In WWE he's doing pretty much the same thing but ...now... People get it.

It had to be Orton
And tbh he doesn't have to be full blown heel. But they teased it with the Aliester black stuff for Orton
And Orton himself saying it should have been Drew (meaning he would have done it no matter who was champ)

Plus Cody been done again like he was with Cena

I want Orton to get 15 but I can see them having Cody retain at mania with the story he's learnt from last year.

What is Ronda Rousey doing in AEW?

I expect this is Tony Khan testing the waters. She wrestled on a random Ring of Honor a year or so back, so this is the next step.

She's a bigger name than anyone in their women's division (with the possible exception of Mercedes Mone), but she's a fairly controversial figure, particularly in wrestling, and as far as I'm aware hasn't been officially announced as signed.

She'll work a program with Toni Storm and I reckon they'll gauge reaction there. I think she's possibly also keeping her options open in case her MMA return isn't as popular as she's banking on.

A bigger thing for me is, what was the point spending so long trying to make Marina Shafir a thing, only to have her lose and immediately overshadowed by the arrival of the more well known version of her gimmick?

Interested to see what they do with Ronda but feel like the Toni Storm gimmick has run its course. Nightingale seems well positioned to be their top female and probably deserves it

Punk and Reigns war of words is completely nonsensical. Just a random collection of insults it feels like. so hard to buy it.

Storm needed to move on after The Hollywood Ending.

The character became Flanderised a long time ago.

CM Punk: I'm gonna bury you next to your dead dad.

Roman Reigns: You old as feck.

CM Punk loses it

Maybe Roman said something more (I only watch YouTube highlights) but that was funny, how CM Punk has such thin skin.

The Lesnar segment started the show incredibly well last night. I was thinking how it really felt that the Road to WrestleMania had just really gotten started and that WWE might be finally pulling their fingers out of their arses. However, that Reigns/Punk segment was the absolute pits and it feels like they are just winging it nonsensically. Punk's lines feel so naff, which is frustrating as he's usually such a good talker. Reigns just seems a bit clueless. How can they botch what should've been such an electric feud.

Because of the setup. It makes no sense.

People love both so they're both basically face.

Punk helped Roman against Solo etc in the bloodline feud.

Punk and Roman teamed at war games and even shook hands and showed each other respect and at that time, the direction looked to be Cody v Roman.

Now they've gone down the Roman v Punk route and they can't find an angle to make it work.

It begins with Roman's reason for picking Punk as "I hate you"...

That's not an interesting angle at all.

Then I hate you because you’re champion? It’s a terrible angle.

Sounds very HHH to be fair.

"I hate you"
"You're not fit to be champion"
"I don't respect you"
"You said something on a podcast"

No one gives a shit about any of that.

If Roman faced Cody, it could have been "you took everything from me". Much better angle right away and that took me 2 seconds to come up with.

I know they fought a couple times already but at least it would make sense and also, there's a lot of new fans since Netflix era, who haven't seen this, myself included.

Cody v Punk was the match really.

I don’t blame either guy though tbh, think they’re both great but it’s a feud without a valid reason for them to be feuding, the belt has been treated as an irrelevance. Again it should’ve happened last year the story was there with Heyman etc
