Not good enough. I loved his passion, but I think his ability was overrated

He was definitely overrated because of his attitude and energy levels. The reality was that he didn’t offer a huge amount, could play the Ji-Sung Park man marking role reasonably well but beyond that he was limited.

Will take him for free. Could replace Matic as our most senior midfielder next season (doesnt mean we shouldnt sign any other midfielder though!)

He wouldn’t be my preferred option, but he’d be better than nothing because he’d be cheap, on a low(ish) salary relative to the rest of the squad (or any similar player we could sign), and would also be short term while we wait for the correct player to come on the market. I definitely think he’d improve the squad if he came back.

Very overrated when he was here and it is not as if he has improved in the 2 years he has been away as evidenced by his lack of game time in a team that couldn't win Ligue 1. Factor in that he effectively dumped us for money and I would not take him back if he was playing for bus fare.

Decent without the ball, not so great with it. Liked his pashun though.

We already replaced him in the squad. Not the type of midfielder we are looking for imo

Nice bit of journalistic speculation, but if he's really looking for a new home because PSG are about to flog him off, the answer should be "no".
I liked Herrera and let's not forget the Caf was in a state of uproar when we lost him, but I think the consensus is that we haven't really missed him. Add to that PSG clearly think he's expendable.

I wouldn't.

Then again I never saw it with him, never thought he was good enough.

Personally, I've always found him a very overrated player here to quite alot of United fans - watching him potentially leaving PSG having not achievied much would not be a surprise.

However, there has been links starting to rise about United re-signing Ander Herrera from PSG.

What do you think about this?

Loved his passion and attitude but the way in which he left hard pass, he thought it would be better at PSG but found it wasn't. We are finally moving in a better direction as a club, team and transfer strategy. So, no.

Nah, thanks. I think he's an 'alright' player. But so are McFred.

If we sign new players for that position, it should be better than 'alright'

I like(d) him, but I m not sure we need him any more. If it is a loan or something I Wouldn't be against it, but it's not what we really need.

Had one good game when he man-marked Hazard out of the game. That's it.
Only has 2 caps for Spain....pretty average.

I liked him when he was here but he's had his time. He's also not the profile of midfielder we're looking for - he'd be another in the McTominay/Fred category.

We better not sign Icardi instead of having a crack at Haaland next season though I’d be happier with Martial..

Average as feck footballer, doesn’t surprise me one bit that PSG are keen to get rid after he’s been nothing more than a bit part player in his time there, in fact, it’s exactly what I expected.

One of our best post-Ferguson players and some of these comments are ridiculous. I dread to think how much more depressing the Van Gaal era would have been without Herrera. His legs have gone now though so bringing him back would not be a good idea.

I like Herrera and consider him one of our best CMs in the post Fergie era. But he turns 32 this week and probably wants a fat pay-check. And he's not that good anymore.

No thanks.

I'd rather let Fred, Matic, van De Beek and McTominay rotate in the #6 and #8 roles than go back for Herrera. I can't conclusively say he's better in 2021 than any of them.
