Has anyone here played Nine Sols? How does it compare to Hollow Knight? I'm thinking about buying it.

Also, I have Axiom Verge and Salt & Sanctuary. Which of these should I play first?
Haven't played Nine Sold yet but can help you with the other two. Axiom Verge is pure Metroid, but very well done. Soundtrack is god tier for me. S&S feels much more like 2D Dark Souls. Gameplay wise I loved it, with some excellent boss fights, but the art is a bit meh. Both highly recommended though.

Ah thanks man, I might try S&S first as I'm more likely to enjoy AV.

Anyone tried Vampire Crawlers yet? Incredibly addictive (no surprise) but I found it very easy to complete. Unlike VS where there's tons of extra content and add-ons, I'm kinda stuck just grinding gold without much more to do until an expansion releases.

Finished Hollow Knight. Really enjoyed it.

Found some of the stuff hard to work out at times in terms of where to go or if I was underpowered for a boss or just needed to get good. I’ve found myself just wanting to play still to move around the map though. That really responsive control scheme is fun.

What % did you get? Also there's loads of side stuff you can do that's really fun, Path of Pain springs to mind. Probably my favourite bit in the game.

Straight into Silksong now.

I think 82%. I saw there’s a lot of extra stuff but I think I dunno if I can be arsed searching the map for it all.

Is it harder?
Overall Silksong is harder but the most difficult thing in the series is The Pantheon of Hallownest(I never finished it).

Silksong seems to actively hate the player and tries it's very best to make sure you don't finish it. But that's also one of the reasons why it's soo good.

Is it harder? I struggled with a few bosses on this until I got the full nail upgrade.
Silksong starts like endgame Hollow Knight to be honest. Which makes sense as it was originally a DLC. So it’s more unforgiving early on. But it’s incredible. An improvement in every way.

But yes it is also just unflinchingly mean at times but you’ll keep coming back for more and more, just like I did.

Overall, it's harder but the hardest bits of HK are harder than anything in SS.

But as you're used to the game, the adjustment will be quick. And if you're looking to just complete the base level game as you did in HK, you'll be fine.

The side stuff in Hollow Knight is really fun. I’d definitely do some of it, including White Palace which is an experience to say the least.

I never had it in me to do Path of Pain though.

NKG is also optional and possibly the best boss across both games. That music is still in my head.

I never beat him. Was just too much for me and I gave up. Maybe I need to go back and replay it - my ability to handle stupidly hard bosses has probably increased a lot since.

It's one of the best boss designs that I've played. Put the amazing presentation aside, he is super hard but incredibly fair. Once you learn the patterns and beat him, you'll be able to beat him consistently.

It's a shame that him, Pure Vessel and Sisters of Battle are bosses many people won't play against but are all awesome.

But Absolute Radiance can get to feck. I hated that bitch.

After Silksong I would say NKG should feel doable. Compared to other Hollow Knight bosses he seemed fast and complicated, but he has fewer patterns to work out than several Silksong bosses, and I'm sure some of them are faster as well. The knight itself is less mobile than Hornet, but your Silksong experience should still serve you well here.

Didn‘t enjoy the first one. Hopefully less clunky

I never played the original. This looks like a fun though generic multiplayer shooter. I can't imagine there's a particularly thought provoking storyline attatched.

Don‘t mind the generic mp shooter either, was just too barebones and mechanics not really encouraging for the necessary grind. Maybe content was better after a couple of years (if supported), doubt it though.

Replaying Red dead redemption 2 on pc after playing it twice around when it first launched on ps4. Apart from not getting getting vibration from the controller whilst riding, im actually amazed how good it looks on pc with everything on max. Apart from the animation quality being about the same the world looks just as good and better than many current gen open world games.

The lighting, shadows, textures, foliage etc all top notch. Not quite like a complete remaster but not that far off which is impressive for a old game.

It’s still one of the best looking games out there.

Uncharted 4 turned 10 years old last week; and even though the gameplay isn’t great, it still looks as good as almost any new game. Graphics haven’t really come on a lot in the last decade.

DMC 1 Remake coming. Resi zero, One and CV are all getting remade. I am presuming that one of them gets announced in the next month.

@horsechoker will you play any of them?

I want a Code Veronica remake before Zero and 1. RE1 already had probably the best remake ever and zero is…alright, but uninspiring.

The KCD games are cool, but so niche. Will be interesting to see how they can translate them into something like LotR without making more casual gamers go "wtf?". Seems a cool pairing in theory though, a bit like Larian and Baldur's Gate.

Really? Thought they said they weren’t making any more. Would be mad if they’re making two games of that scale simultaneously.
I'm surprised but also the studio has likely expanded quite a lot due to the success of the first two games.

Digging a bit more suggests that KCD 3 is already in development and the LOTR game is in pre-production.
