I agree, OHMSS could have easily been 9, was a bit unsure. Think maybe it will stand out even more when I'm done with the rest. Currently on Moore's TMWTGG now, hope it's better than his first one. Didn't particularly like Live and Let Die.

I think the reason I prefer Dr.No to Diamonds is just that I prefer the visual style of it more + younger Sean Connery. Quite enjoying this project though.
Sean will always be Bond for me, but Moore is close.
I film term's his Bond's were dreadful, rank bad scripts, Moonraker is maybe the worst.
I liked the way Moore played Bond, he had the best toys, best cars and most of the best girl's, definitely the best one liners.

Yeah, that's the feeling I'm getting so far as well. He plays it well, just wish the movies were better. Don't especially look forward to Moonraker, but I guess I'll have to

Absolutely. Phenomenal movie.

One could argue a top 50 movie line is in that movie, top 20 even.
I'm slightly annoyed but I'll wait to see how this develops further before responding.

(Which is a variation on that movie line, for those that don't know or recognize it. :) )

Angelia Jolie plays a rugged Montana firefighter. Enough said.

Live and Let Die is one of my favourite Bonds. OTT plot, cool locations, great music, memorable baddies and Jane Seymour.

The Green Inferno

Cynical rip of student climate activists veers into full-on cannibal natives territory with loads of gore.
Entertaining, knowingly offensive and benefits from a decent spattering of humour.

Those Who Wish Me Dead

Action mvoie reminiscent of the 90s. I can see Stallone doing this similar to his Daylight back then. Good plot, tau pacing and good acting. Good watch. 7/10

If you watching Bond, them yes it has to be watched.
Moonraker does have some good points, I quite liked the villain, Jaws is a good bad guy and it has the best one liner in any film

Watched it after a recommendation from here and enjoyed. Felt a little slow to get going but the last hour was intriguing and I didn't expect it to pan out as it did.

Thought JG was great in his role. Never have I disliked a character so much yet still be emotionally attached with them and their success. Quite a strange feeling. I got devil like vibes from him and his characters purpose throughout.

Give it a 7/10 and definitely worth a watch if you're looking for something different and thought provoking.

Time To Hunt: A thriller about a group of friends living in South Korea in a near future where the economy has completely gone to shit and their lives seem hopeless. They decide to do a heist on a gang-owned illegal casino, which then releases its legendary hunter on them.

I hated it. The film moves way too slowly for its genre, and everything that holds it up felt irrelevant and, frankly, boring. It's 2h15 long; probably would have been better at 1h30 without the attempt to make it a social drama as well.

The Hangover (2009)

I'm generally picky when it comes to comedy films, but this is definitely a modern classic. I wonder how long it will take until we get another original comedy that's such a massive success.

Do they even make comedies anymore? Rom-coms and comic book movies with a "cheeky edge" not included, obviously.
Comedy is basically dead these days. No one knows how to be funny. Just hundreds and hundreds of female comedy movies that involves a sassy black chick, the crazy chick, the normal one and if course the fat one who absolutely has to fall through a table or some physical comedy because after a few hundred times they think it's still funny. Plus the over explaining. So much explaining as to why the joke is funny. Christ I miss the old days.

Or a The Rock / Kevin Hart flick.

I watched an uncomfortable movie yesterday called Oasis, which is about a man with learning disabilities who goes to prison to cover up his brother in a hit and run incident.

When he gets out falls in love with a woman suffering from cerebral palsy; which begins an unconventional romance that at times morphs between reality and fantasy.

I've ead some reviews and people have described it as 'unconventional love story', which I agree with. It's also rooted social commentary about able-bodied dehumanise disabled people.

It's all full of terribly unlikable characters and ends with a rather damning indictment of both families.

It's Korean but I think it's got universal relevance and is overall quite a powerful piece of cinema.

It's by the guy who made Burning - the film based on a Murakami short story which came out a few years ago.

1998 to 2009:

- Office Space
- The Truman Show
- Rush Hour
- Rush Hour 2
- Step Brothers
- Shaun of the Dead
- The 40 Year Old Virgin
- Dodgeball
- Anchorman
- Zombieland
- The Hangover

I've definitely forgotten a few, but still...

Uncomfortable, but very powerful. Not a movie you forget easily.

Modern comedy is horrible, but this film was quality.

Or sophomoric, low brow abortions like Will Ferrell reboots.

Right out of the Hangover's book.... Bad Neighbours(it's sequel also better than Hangover II), Blockers and Game Night all relatively decent watches, though oddly Neighbours has the lowest RT score, but certainly the better highlights for me.

Oh, and Popstar.

Blood Simple (1984)

Debut film for the Coen brothers. They came with a bang with this Neo-noir thriller. Movie revolves around 4 main characters. Filled with dark humor and twists, this is a brilliant one to watch.
