General Rules:
1. Tactical set-ups will be randomly allocated to a randomised list of managers
2. Snake Draft Format for picking players - i.e. picks start with Manager 1, then 1-16, 16-1, 1-16 and so on.
3. All managers have 8 hours to decide their pick, if not they can pick whenever they are ready while the draft continues. Three missed picks in a row results in loss of the eight hour window.
4. DO NOT name unpicked players, repeat offenders will be punished by the draft mod.
5. When you make a pick, please post the player name and/or a picture, update the ongoing draft list and tag the next manager.
6. Once a pick is posted in the thread, either by a manager or his assistant, it CANNOT be changed. This rule is final, no exceptions (posted by mistake, etc). Be careful before posting a pick.
7. There will be 12 rounds of drafting.
8. Please try to do an in depth profile of your set-up and general player profiles if possible, in the draft thread itself, with a basic description in the match-day OP
9. Once the teams are done the matches will follow. All matches will run for 24 hours

Draft Rules:
1. As a tribute to historically great and influential classic systems, the tactical systems have to be replicated/recreated on a strict basis, with the core ideology of the system remaining intact.
2. Blueprints will be provided with XIs, which have to be followed. Only the modern personnel fits are left to the manager's interpretation. No tactical tweaks/variations allowed and the overall balance and interplay of the original set-up has to be reflected in the remake.
3. Teams will be judged on how well they manage to replicate the formation, the ideology of the set-up and the modern player fits in a hoslistic fashion
4. All players born after 1st Jan 1975, with the exception of Messi and C.Ronaldo, are available for drafting
5. The draft shall commence officially on 25th May 15:00 GMT, with the 8 hour deadlines coming into effect

Match Rules:
1. Draft matches would be decided based on who has crafted/recreated the more coherent and cohesive tactical set-up as opposed to who might win in a fantasy encounter. Hopefully, this paves way for interesting discussions on the set-ups themselves - delving deeper into the creation/evolution etc of said set-up - and the personnel fit.
2. Voters are asked to consider the XIs featured as remakes of classic teams, and to consider to what extent the manager has succeeded in re-creating both the individual roles and the overall functionality of the original. This is not a fantasy match but a comparison of remakes.
3. All managers have to follow the given template for write-ups in the OP and it shouldn't exceed a single post
4. No substitutions and tactical changes (role reversals etc) are allowed within a match-up.

Restrictions:
1. C.Ronaldo & Messi

Reinforcements:
1. First round (Pre QF) of reinforcements will consists of 2 picks per team and will be conducted in the reverse order of the initial format.
2. Pre SF reinforcements will be conducted in Sheep Format. The four semi finalists will submit two picks and one block each, for three rounds. This means you can can add upto 2 players to your team and you will exit the round as soon as you have two successful picks.
3. Pre final reinforcements wil be conducted in Sheep Format. The two finalists will submit one pick and one pick and one block each, for three rounds. This means you can can add upto 1 player to your team and you will exit the round as soon as you have one successful pick.
4. The Reinforcements pool will consist of all players from the losing teams

ALL DISPUTES WILL BE RESOLVED BY THE DRAFT COMMITTEE.

Draft Committee -
Joga Bonito, Balu, Annahnomoss, Chesterlestreet & Gio (part of the initial committee before becoming a manager)

NOTE: Particular formation graphics relevant to the various classic teams the managers are tasked with re-creating, will be posted later.

Arguably the most notorious of the tactical approaches we're going to see remade in this draft, catenaccio – as epitomized by Herrera's Grande Inter of the 1960s – will no doubt prove an interesting challenge for @Tuppet

Blueprint: Inter Milan, 1964

Less famous than the Word Cup winners of 1974, the side that went before them in a major tournament was in many ways an even more interesting one – not least from a remake perspective: A more free flowing, entertaining and altogether charming team which @paulscholes18 should have great fun trying to re-create.

Blueprint: West Germany, 1972.

We remain in Italy, and in the 1980s, for the next blueprint: In some ways the successor of the cagey catenaccio approach already featured, the zona mista – as represented by Giovanni Trapattoni's Juventus – will be both demanding and fun to re-create for @Downcast

Blueprint: Juventus, 1984.

Next up, a man we all know and love (cough), who presided over a team and a set-up with roots that can be traced back to the great Dutch total football...philosophy primarily associated with Rinus Michels. Playing the part of a latter day LVG (no doubt with better results than the actual latter day LVG) will be @harms

Blueprint: Ajax, 1995.

@DavidG expressed joy at being able to play a draft in the mains – let's see how he fares as he's tasked with remaking this vintage machine:

Speaking of machines, here's another one – of more recent memory. In charge of putting it back together to the best of his ability will be @Šjor Bepo

@Gio has proved on more occasions than any other Caf drafter that he has the golden touch - but will he do so again when attempting to re-create the Golden Team? Time will tell.

Another Italian job – the oldest in this draft. All focus has to be on the method here, for @Enigma_87 as he attempts to re-create the 1934 World Champions with modern players.

Next up, the first of two Brazilian representatives in this draft. A very popular team – but perhaps not the easiest to re-create. We'll see how @P-Nut0712 goes about it.

If we're talking classic formations it doesn't get much more classic than this. The W-M, most famously associated with Herbert Chapman and his legendary Arsenal side of the early 1930s, is what @NoPace has to put to use with modern players in the roles of James, Bastin, Hapgood et al.

Blueprint: Arsenal, 1931.

A never-nude? I thought he just liked cut-offs.

 It has to be one of the most demanding formations available, but I pretty much always like @harms teams so I'm looking forward to seeing what he builds here.

Poor guy :D. I don't think any formation is more mercilessly dissected by the draft junkies than the magic square.

One classic English team followed by another: We all hope comeback kid @Brwned ain't too rusty as he goes to work on re-creating the wingless wondrousness of Alf Ramsey's World Champions.

Blueprint: England, 1966.

I can't believe my luck . I have no idea if il be able to convey it in a manner that befits it , but being able to put 6 creative attacking players in a team and get away with it is pretty good .
