The right back market

This is a player we should've been pushing hard to sign.

Liverpool getting him is sickening. He will tear it up with them.

I think Frimpong is quite small and weak, although he is absolutely rapid. I’m not certain how transferable his level is to the PL, but I suppose it is always easier in a dominant side.

It's frustrating but even if we were in for him he's never going to choose us over them with all their Dutch connections.

Munoz is great but he's about to turn 29. He's a proper late bloomer but a great find by Palace.

I think he’s a good player but he will find the physicality of the PL a challenge.
I'm actually delighted others look favourites in the race to sign Frimpong and Gyokeres. Frimpong's going to make Liverpool yearn for the defensive soundness and discipline of Trent and I really think Gyokeres is going to be a big money flop when he's coming up against PL defenders.

Let's see again in a few months. I am pretty sure they will do well.

Sorry to break it to those who are hoping but we're not signing a RWB. There are bigger priorities to deal with and I think we're better equipped at RWB than at LWB anyway.

we were 16 places apart in the league. we aren't willing to pay big salaries. winning this type of signing isn't happening this season, due to 1) perhaps the correct stance not to overpay on salary 2) the standard of coaching from amorim being so low that we are at the bottom of the table.

Joakim Mæhle. Send Dorgu the other way on loan.

If we must continue this experiment.
Is the experiment to buy all the Danes in Italy and send them back after a bit?

With that logic, we'll never sign good players again and we'll be stuck in the cycle of not signing good players because we're terrible but being terrible because we're not able to sign good players.

It's pretty vital to our future that we sign several good players this summer, which is why it's so vital that we win on Wednesday so that players can be given the promise of CL football if they sign with United.

I think we can still sign players without directly competing with the league champs. Also we likely won't be as low in the league in future seasons, either because Amorim improves or is fired

Whether he’s the right signing or not, it’s yet another example how quickly, quietly and efficiently they get deals done. United could do with signing up their sporting & recruitment department.

I mean I (or anyone else on the caf) could've done this deal if we had a PL winning club. Trigger the release clause and done.

For us the football wisdom is in identifying what the hell is going wrong and fixing it. Sometimes, the reason you don't score goals is because you can't win the ball back and just signing a ball winner in midfield is enough to improve goal scoring.

Our whole system is dependent on us getting service from wingbacks. It's one of the most crucial priorities.

Yeah, we should stick with Dalot, he's like Bebe in attack and Bramble in defence.

Definitely need a new RWB and LWB if Amorim is going to make his formation work.

Yes we do but won't be this summer, unpopular as it is I see us looking at internal solutions next season

Not ideally Amads best position but we might find it easier to buy Delap, Cunha, Chekri and a CM than be able to find the perfect RWB. Amad can do a job there and to be honest if we can sort out the front 3 and add a good midfielder to play next to Bruno then Amad might actually look fantastic there in a functioning team. Hard to know how much of our defensive woes are down to a dodgy keeper and a front 3 that can’t hold unto possession or sustain pressure.

Was a priority for them whereas doesn't seem to be for us which is frustrating because key for system
Ye will be interesting to see how he adapts to the RB position he’ll be played at Liverpool

We have Amad who is a very good WB and he's deputised by Dalot and Maz who are serviceable/energetic if not inspiring. Big things are also expected of Bendito Mantano from the academy so think this position falls well down our priorities.

Really hope we're not going to waste scant resources at WB when we have so many obvious holes in key positions. Obviously we're not exactly brimming with exciting options at wing back either but for me, it's miles down the priority list.

Does get mentioned in that Whitwell article so clearly it's still on the priority list for this summer

The template is clear - left footed right winger in disguise at RWB. Poor Dalot's days are numbered for no fault of his if we make this type of signing at RWB. Why not just stick Dorgu there or something to paper over the cracks for a season?
