Just feck off. Ferrari's initial value was something like £300k, with £559k being the max it would let me bid. He rises overnight, new minimum value is £700k. I'm the only one to bid in like 24 hours then last second Southend bids at new maximum knowing it would go through and mine would be rejected.

It’s very annoying but there’s no rule against it.

In these kind of situations a gentleman would be inclined to withdraw to allow a 2 way shoot out for the player. I’d say both bid new max value and let the coin toss decide.

Max bid on his value at the time of the initial bid was made. It doesn't mention that it is only for new players added to the database, only arguable bit is the "first available value".

Though nobody ever listens to this, the bid was public.

This bid cannot be changed and increased after the player value goes up. No exceptions.

Player value went up the next day albeit because his rating rose and not the weird new player database thing, but the rule doesn't mention that it only has to be if the player value goes up via the database thing.

If the original bids for that player collapse after being accepted due to the player value increasing then only the clubs who originally bid may re-bid at the new max value.

My bid obviously collapsed, greeny's accepted due to being above the max bid on the first available value.

It’s not an exact science (although ive been banging on for at least a year about how there should be a position threshold until one is changed) but until he’s more clearly deployed there it’s still roaming RB territory in my eyes.

Stones’ role however is clearly DM in build up hence no qualms about giving it him. He can and does play that role to a 92 standard.

Trent however is not a 94 rated CM. If his rating was 91 then it could be considered but I don’t know anyone who in good conscience will make that position change without significantly more data on his position and role. Klopp giving him a free RB role isn’t the same as playing CM in my book.

Yes. But it’s only stuff that should happen and it’s always subject to approval from others. So I can make suggestions to SM but ultimately they sign them off.

I am open to serious suggestions and if anyone is interested in joining the team to support then by all means PM me as obviously can’t watch every game of football but there’s a team of us working on the wiki helping to add players, edit positions and support SM with rating reviews.

For example John Stones DM positioning was a suggestion I’d made which SM and the wiki admins approved and actioned.

Balde is rated 86. Not exatly fair for one of the best lb's in the world this season. Don't think it's a crazy suggestion to say Barca's starting left back in a title winning season is worthy 90.

+4 to 90 would be unheard of. Lets also remember that Barcelona went out in the Europa Cup very early on so that should be considered. They also got destroyed in the Copa del Rey.

Agreed but a +2 to 88 now would be reasonable with a view to reviewing in the summer.

They’re clear in the league and have only conceded 9 goals in the league in 29 games. While Balde isn’t an out and out defender he’s still a part of that success and I don’t think anyone could disagree he’s underrated at 86 not overrated if placed at 88 now.

Depending on Barcelona’s final position then an argument could be made for 90.

The top 5 leagues will always have priority as they are the most widely used in SM and as such there will always be more attention for young players within them. However work being done behind the scenes all completely for free on every smaller league is commendable and the majority of the people supporting do so with good intentions and for the love of SM.

Unfortunately unless SM wants to expand these review positions into actual jobs or gives certain privileges to consistent contributors what you’re asking is impossible for a team of volunteers to do.

We can’t track every player in world football on a rise as you play basis and so have to have set periods for smaller leagues where they are focussed on.

However if you can think of a way to do this or fancy helping out then join the team and contribute.

The top five league reviews have gotten worse and worse each time it gets rated. It was bad enough 3/4 years ago now its dismal. So many players get missed, even clubs gets missed these days. Either it's extremely slow or goes through as such a fast pace that they miss a shit ton. It's woeful.

I don't think I'm asking the impossible at all. Soccerwiki is all about hype, get players that have hyped reputations and they'll rise significantly quicker than anyone else even if they're shit. It's just a popularity contest. It's easy enough to actually use stats and common sense to get decent rating changes on a consistent basis. But that doesn't happen and you end up with some leagues been harsh and others being generous for no reason other than the people in charge of reviewing them have different opinions.

The argument for Balde to reach 90 when he started the season at 78 is just bonkers to me, fair fecks if they're winning countless trophies and dominating. But they aren't. They got humiliated in the CL and then humbled by us in the Europa, humiliated again in Copa del Rey. If you do that with Balde then you set a precedence for every other young player that breaks through in a top team. I'm not even sure I can remember a teenager rising that quickly in a season? @Damien might have better knowledge given he tends to have them.

Haaland went from 82 to 90 in one season but he had five different reviews and literally broke football.

Then he went to 92 in the next midseason review.

Looking at Southend United, Alphonso Davies went from 83 to 90 (3 reviews) in a season where Bayern won the League, Pokal and Champions League. No other examples in his squad.

He played about 3400 minutes.

Personally I don't mind Balde hitting 90 but an 88/89 this season and another rise in next midseason review would still put him as comfortably one of the fastest rising players of all time and on par with Mbappe in the 78-90+ stakes.

Personally I don't mind Balde hitting 90 but an 88/89 this season and another rise in next midseason review would still put him as comfortably one of the fastest rising players of all time and on par with Mbappe in the 78-90+ stakes.

Too many negatives surrounding my players this season so I'll focus on the positives and the ones I feel/hope should go up:

John Stones (92) - titan, got a long overdue rise to 92 in December so doubt he'll go up again but deserves to
Jeremie Frimpong (89) - beast, long run in Europa league and great stats, deserves 90.
Axel Disasi (89) - doing great at Monaco, should be 90 but players in Ligue 1 tend to get stiffed.
Nico Williams (87) - regular for Athletic Club, at least a +1 please
Zeno Debast (82) - doing well for his team even though they're not doing well - 84?
Tomas Araujo (78) - 1500 minutes in the top division in Portugal, should be in 80s.

Shame about Pedri and Eriksen's injuries. If not for them they could have had a rise. Shame about West Ham doing so shit in the league as well, hopefully Rice gets his move to Arsenal and a 92 in future.

I'll be surprised if at least four of my players don't go down in rating.
