Gaming The SM RedCafe League

I am excited! I LOVE THIS GAME!

Going forward @Dom Gill AKA Frank Castle on SM has offered to help with the reviews.

Massive thanks to him for this as it’s a big job when done solo.
You are giving away my secret identity!!!

Gone are the days of a different hair cut and glasses....well I have no hair so that never worked anyway.

Guess I'll just have to wear a big white skull painted onto a Kevlar vest to distract people from my face. That and I'll "deal" with the next person who makes the connection!

Next up: Hereford @Sandyman (PM’d on SM)

  • Torrents 18 70
  • Rego 20 77
  • Isaque Silva 18 70
  • Addai 19 78
  • Diomande 18 73

Let's do something different for the teams living in the real chaos of this Game world, Div 2.

Div 2 - Game Week 1 Results: A Rhapsody of Revelations!

Clears throat, adopts a weary, droning tone

"Now for the results of Div 2.

Tottenham Hotspurs one, Chelsea one.

Blackburn Rovers nil, Torquay United three.

Wolver.....ah sod this!"

Coughs, loosens tie and takes out the top button of the shirt. A sudden spark in the eye and a mischievous grin spreads across the face.

Right, let's inject a bit of life into this, shall we?! Because while some of these results might seem as dull as watching paint dry, there's always a story, isn't there? Especially when you've got teams fresh out of Div 1, like Tottenham Hotspurs and Wolverhampton Wanderers, trying to find their footing in new territory. And let's not forget our plucky Div 3 risers, Torquay United and Bury, full of beans and ready to shake things up!

So, where were we? Ah yes, that rather uninspired start. But fear not, the drama was just getting warmed up!

First up, Tottenham Hotspurs and Chelsea decided to split the points in a rather tense one-one draw. For those keeping score at home, this isn't just any old London derby; these two sets of fans famously have no love lost for each other. So, while the scoreboard might suggest an amicable sharing of the spoils, rest assured, the post-match banter (and probably a few choice words) would have been anything but amicable! A perfectly respectable result, I suppose, if not exactly the thunderous statement one might expect from a recently relegated side. Perhaps they're just easing into the Div 2 pace, trying not to intimidate the locals too much!

Then we have Blackburn Rovers, who, let's be honest, seem to be operating on a rather unique brand of logic these days. They put in a sterling performance against newly promoted Torquay United, managing to concede three without reply. Yes, that's right, three unanswered goals! Torquay, meanwhile, clearly understood that the best way to introduce yourselves to a new division is with a bang – or in this case, three of 'em! A truly emphatic statement of intent.

Moving on, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sheffield United decided that goals were simply not on the agenda, treating us all to a scintillating nil-nil draw. For a team of Wolves' calibre, having dropped down from Div 1, one might have expected a touch more bite, wouldn't you agree? Perhaps they're still adjusting to the... less glamorous surroundings.

Now, hold onto your hats, because things took a turn for the truly spectacular! Brentford faced Norwich, and it looks like Brentford's defence forgot to turn up. Because Norwich, by Jove, put five past them without reply! That's right, a staggering five-nil thrashing! Someone call the paramedics, because that's a result that'll leave a mark.

And speaking of statements, if there's one team in this division built for success, it's Manchester City. They took on Leeds United and showed exactly why they're tipped for the top, putting on a clinic with a resounding four-nil victory! Pure class, that. They've undoubtedly got the squad to make a real push this season; certainly looking like they're ready to lay down the law.

Not to be outdone by their fellow Div 3 promotion partners in Torquay, Bury certainly made a name for themselves, beating Brighton three goals to one. A solid start for a team looking to prove they belong in the big leagues – or at least, this tier of the big leagues!

And finally, to cap off a truly memorable opening weekend, Kidderminster Harriers gave Luton Town a rather rude awakening, bagging three goals to nil. A clean sheet and a clear message: the Harriers mean business!

So there you have it, folks, the thrilling, if sometimes perplexing, rundown of Div 2 - Game Week 1. From shocking thrashings to surprising stalemates, it was certainly a week that got the pundits talking! And with the likes of Manchester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers vying for dominance, with City certainly having the edge in squad quality, this season is shaping up to be anything but dull.
What other riveting results have we got on the docket? The people are waiting!

Div 2 Report: Game Week 2 — Shocks, Goals, and Early Statements!

Alright, sports fans, gather 'round! It's Game Week 2 in Div 2, and if you thought last week was a rollercoaster, buckle up, because things are already getting interesting. Forget the pre-season jitters; these teams are playing for keeps, and some are already making a statement while others are, well, still looking for their boots.

Let's dive straight into the action, no fluff, just the cold, hard facts:

Game Week 2 Rundown: Goals Galore and a Few Stumbles!

Chelsea 0 Blackburn 0: A stalemate! Blackburn, fresh off losing their "brash and opinionated" manager, managed to hold strong. Perhaps a new, quieter presence on the touchline is just what they needed for a defensive masterclass. Or maybe Chelsea just couldn't find the net. You decide.

Torquay 3 Wolverhampton Wanderers 0: Ouch. My pre-season tip, Wolverhampton Wanderers, took a proper pasting. Three goals conceded and none in return. It's early days, of course – only two games down in a 38-game marathon – but sitting 14th isn't exactly the start we predicted for Wolves. Time to find that winning gear, lads!

Sheffield United 2 Brentford 0: A solid home win for the Blades, putting Brentford firmly in their place.

Norwich City 5 Bradford City 0: Now that's how you make a statement! Norwich City are not just winning; they're obliterating. With 10 goals in two games, they're currently sitting pretty at the top of the table, looking like the team to beat. Bradford, on the other hand, might want to check if the bus driver remembered to bring the goal-line technology.

Liverpool 0 Hull City 1: A surprising upset! Hull snuck in a goal and held on, leaving the Reds scratching their heads.

Crystal Palace 0 Manchester City 4: My other tip, Manchester City, are certainly living up to expectations. A dominant four-goal haul, and they're now firmly in second place. Gagan's boys mean business, and they're showing no signs of a playoff hangover from last season.

Leeds United 0 Bury 3: A comprehensive away win for Bury. They're making their presence felt in those playoff spots.

Brighton and Hove Albion 0 Luton Town 0: Another goalless draw. Sometimes, the best defense is... well, just a good defense.

Kidderminster Harriers 4 Ipswich Town 1: Kidderminster Harriers are on fire! Four goals at home, and they've staked their claim in the playoff picture.

Reading 0 Tottenham Hotspur 3: And finally, Tottenham Hotspur, having dropped down from Div 1, have certainly found their stride in Div 2! A clean sheet and three goals away from home. They're currently occupying a playoff spot, a remarkable turnaround and a strong statement from a team that faced tougher opposition last season. Big Red must be cracking a smile.

The Early League Standings: Who's Hot, Who's Not?

As we stand after Game Week 2, Norwich City are leading the pack, followed closely by Manchester City. The current playoff contenders are Kidderminster Harriers, Torquay, Bury, and Tottenham Hotspur.
It's a long season, folks, but the early indicators are clear: Norwich and Man City are setting the pace, while the battle for those coveted playoff spots is already heating up. And for my Wolves tip? Plenty of games left to turn that ship around. This is Div 2, where anything can happen!

Stay tuned for more updates as the season unfolds!

Gameweek 3: Shocks, Streaks, and Shifting Sands!

Well, well, well, what a set of results we've had in Gameweek 3! If anyone thought they had this league figured out, think again. The beautiful game, eh? Always full of surprises.

First off, let's talk about the genuine seismic shockwave that resonated from Plainmoor: Torquay 2 - Chelsea 0! Good heavens, what a result for the Gulls! Against a team of Chelsea's stature, this isn't just a win; it's a monumental statement. Torquay, following a strong start, firmly plants itself in the automatic promotion spots. Could we be seeing a fairytale rise? Time will tell, but right now, they're flying high, and this result will certainly turn heads.

Speaking of flying high, Sheffield United absolutely dismantled Blackburn Rovers with a resounding 5-1 victory! Five goals! That's a serious show of attacking prowess. This result propels them into the playoff spots, and on this form, they'll be a handful for anyone. Blackburn, on the other hand, will be hoping this was just an off day.

Elsewhere, Ipswich got an absolute pasting at home, losing 1-6 to Tottenham. Ouch. That's a scoreline that will sting for a while. Tottenham, meanwhile, showed their clinical edge and cemented their place in the playoff pack. They'll be looking to build on that ruthlessness.

In the more sedate affairs, Liverpool and Brentford played out a rather drab 0-0 draw. A point apiece, but neither side will be particularly thrilled with that. And Norwich and Wolverhampton Wanderers also shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw, a result that keeps Norwich clinging onto a playoff spot. Wolverhampton, a team many had tipped for the top, will be looking for more decisive wins moving forward.

Crystal Palace put in a solid performance, dispatching Bradford City 3-0, while Leeds and Hull couldn't be separated, finishing 1-1.

In other results, Brighton and Hove Albion fell 0-2 to Manchester City, who continue their imperious march at the top of the table. Manchester City, widely considered a strong contender, is certainly living up to expectations! And Kidderminster succumbed 1-3 to Bury, a result that sees Bury consolidate their position in the playoff places. Finally, Reading secured a comfortable 3-1 win over Luton.
