The State of the Anti-United Media (Or just the state of the club it seems)

Is kicking more funk than a shaolin monk, forcing
http://www.skysports.com/football/n...kes-his-chance-to-fire-man-utd-past-liverpool

Saw this article and it was decent. But the last line just pissed me off. Even on TV - it was so clear that Rashford got a standing ovation when he was substituted.

Skysports - I thought you were better than this
It was also pretty clear that when the ground saw his number up a good number of them protested him coming off.

The standing ovation followed thereafter.

Don't think Sky does it justice but neither does that article miss a massive trick IMHO.

I heard some boos, but I think it was more to do with sacrificing him (on a Hatrick) for Fellaini (parallel parking) after we’d already conceded.

1- continued criticism of Jose's style despite 3 brilliant wins
2- continued speculation about Rashford's future despite the fact he's been injured. Oh and I don't recall the concern about Martial's development when he wasn't playing

Both these narratives are doing my head in now

Just watching Premier league tonight on BT and their headline is ' Rash and Grab' , they spent pretty much the whole time talking about our style and how it's not the united way . Ended with talking about how Rashford needs to play every game and signing ppl like Sanchez means he won't get to play

Mourinho and United must be a great combination for the media. They hate both so much and now they can attack both together each game.

I didn't see that to be honest! If it did indeed happen - would love a Gif to prove me wrong.

Like I said. It was a decent article until the last line - where they just could not resist getting on the larger narrative being built around Rashford.

Grow up. The media takes turns criticising all of the big clubs, albeit some more than others. It's just embarrassing to insinuate the media as a whole hates us.

I don't mind the anti-United media-press brigade that much. It's very satisfying each time we perform and make them eat their words (they just hide everything under the carpet pretending they didn't said it though). Not the first time, and doubt it'll end.

Edit: Obv not all media-press.

This.

Jeff Stelling despises United these days. Not sure why, but I imagine Mourinho.

After we win, all he'll talk about from the match the next week will be our poorer performers and how the other team deserved more. He even described today's match vs Liverpool as "Good vs Evil" - alluding to United being evil - which is about as bias as you can get.

They have their claws specifically into us and Arsenal. City are gods gift. They love Liverpool and Spurs despite them not winning anything recently. Chelsea it is mixed. Problem is there are a lot of ex-Liverpool players in the media or Liverpool supporting ex-footballers. They will never give us credit.

Over the in the US NBCSN has Graeme Le saux and Lee Dixon doing commentary in a lot of the games. They were clearly horrified that United were winning today and were delighted when Liverpool pulled one back. Not so subtle anti-United and anti-Mourinho bias that comes through in their comments.

Why aren’t the media talking about £50m key England defender John Stones being out of form and not starting for City? They were all desperate to tell us how he was having a great season.

The heck  Maybe because of the "Red devils" against the lovely "L. Bird", other than his biasness and personal hatred towards someone/thing probably.

Exactly. Jamie isn't saying he needs to move to get games.

In fact, I'd even say:

There was clear as day booing when he was substituted. I've no idea why reporting that is somehow anti-united.

They were telling us that Rashford should leave when Sanchez came. Stones is the last of the defenders in the current pecking order but no suggestion of him leaving though is there?

The booing was obviously because we were taking him off on a hattrick after playing well, to put on a defensive player (it was Fellaini who came on right?).

At the risk of sounding like a crowd reading expert, I don't think it was serious booing either.

Dixon is especially pathetic anytime he announces a United match.

Doesnt surprise me, that's the narrative that sells click.

Even in this very forum theree are more threads that complains about jose and the way we play.

The media knows better what naratives sells.

I thought the booing was coming from the Liverpool end because Fellaini was coming on.

Richard Keys was going on about Rashford should be sent off for a 2nd yellow(that tackled which he got carded later) if he had got yellow carded for the celebration into the crowd.

In my opinion, Guardiola was absolutely being egged on to fail by large portions of the media last season. What you say about the ex-Liverpool players is certainly true though, it's crazy.

This was really funny. Frank De Boer and Glenn Hoddle saying this is not how they want to play.

How can a fraud of a manager as De Boer has the courage to go and talk like this ? Absolutely hilarious.

De Boer also goes onto talk about how it’s better for England if Rashford doesn’t play for Mourinho, who doesn’t trust him. Even though Mourinho just started him in a big game (also started him vs city).

I love how these supposedly attacking teams moan when another team put up a defensive masterclass to stifle them. I mean, do they expect the opposition to just sit there and watch them pass around?

Why do we not get credit for putting up a defensive masterclass but when an attacking team beats a weaker team, they get applauded for putting up an attacking masterclass? The state of the punditry at sky and BT is embarrassing bar Nev and Carra.

Then, we have morons like De Boer who goes around saying he won't set his team up in that manner when he couldn't even get CP to score goals and save his job.

Eh, what is wrong with that article again? Genuinely don't understand what you're criticizing?

It was clear that parts of the crowd were booing the decision to sub off Rashford before then giving him a standing ovation.

I also think this ABU paranoia is so incredibly childish and embarrassing.
