Why? At this point they’ve done a fraction of the damage they did in Iraq, and they haven’t dragged allies into it nearly to the same extent. We’ve barely seen any pushback at all from western leaders either.

The US gets to do what it wants. All we can hope for is that they elect better leaders.

You’d be mad to build your country’s future on the promise of American security guarantees. Maybe we get 12 straight years of Democrats next, it wouldn’t matter.

For all his decrepitude, Trump has an incredible ability to survive scandal, he should be the one called The Teflon Don, not that (other) idiot Gotti.

Trump’s willingness to leverage American influence, to turn it into political favors, like whatever he threatened to get Britain to let US armed forces use their bases.

Trump may have been better off creating fake intelligence to justify this attack, like Cheney did.

I guess it depends on what was meant by "never coming back from this". I agree that fundamentally the trust will be broken between the EU and US, at least to some extent. But already now we see how eager the European leaders still are to sucking up to Trump, because he holds a lot of powerful economic tools. My expectation is that we will still see an eagerness to return to normal after this war is over, and especially when Trump is no longer president - even if that normal is with a more independent Europe.

The whole thing, not just the war. The whole MAGA era America not long after the Tea Party era. The Epstein shit along with a truckload of other now viable conspiracy theories. Season 1 & 2 of this batshit Presidency... The America I used to look up to and admire in my youth is long gone, and the younger generation know only this era of.... whatever the fcuk this is? Like the song goes, This is America, now.

Yes they can meander along until memories start to fade but short of them ushering in the ai utopia I dont see how they change perception to any large degree over whats left of my life. Things are just as likely to get worse as they are to get better anway?

It’s almost as if he can lie on Wednesday and do the complete opposite on a Friday with absolutely no consequences.

It’s absolutely mind boggling that this decomposing inflated orange turd gets away with it.

I cling to the hope that the mother of all Schadenfreude will envelope me one day when karma bites this administration in the ass.

Because I can definitely get behind this sort of future as I really wish my boobs were bigger.

Yeah, wasn't just the boobs, she could turn into anything from knives to machine guns. Also, just think about how useful that would be in the kitchen, plus how much money you'd save on birthday and Christmas presents.

He controls his party, education, security and police forces, department of justice, many of the courts and judges including the supreme court and most of the media and social media.....

In the most free country on earth.
