Going after one of the organizations that accesses and monitors extremist and hate groups. Nothing to see here folks.

Southern Poverty Law Center charged with defrauding donors with payments to extremist informants

The indictment came shortly after SPLC revealed the existence of a criminal investigation into its program to pay informants to infiltrate extremist groups and gather information on their activities. The group said the program was used to monitor threats of violence and the information was often shared with local and federal law enforcement.

Yet more corruption. It's almost like he's actually trying to become richer than Elon and be the richest man on Earth. We are talking tens of billions he is potentially set to pocket if he and his family get away with everything. It's beyond batshit how out in the open it's all become and how he's getting away with it.

Knowing how long the wheels of justice take to turn, even if they have been started, and knowing he will pardon himself or have it set up that he gets one somehow, like with everything, I just can't see him not getting way with it all.

By far the most corrupt ever US President.

You could remove “US” from that sentence and it might still arguably be correct. Which is scary and says it all, really.

*I’m sure I’m exaggerating but factoring in that it’s the US we’re talking about, and not some third world country, it’s shocking

To be fair, some of the red states could be referred to as "third world countries"!

What shocks me the most is, that there are no mechanisms in place that can stop this. No one will go to jail for this obvious corrution and insider trading. :wenger:
There is, but the incentives are totally messed up. He could be removed if enough Republicans are onboard, but that's against their own political interests.

Will be fun if dems win the Presidency next time and it’s revealed that Trump and his family and cronies basically defrauded the country of billions and no repercussions will happen because it’s time to move on or whatever. Or maybe because Trump just pardoned himself and those around him in advance, which is a fecking bizarre thing to even be possible.

And then Trump Junior becomes the heir to the Republican throne and about half the country buys another maga hat.

Navy Secretary John Phelan has been fired, a source familiar with the matter says according to Reuters, in another wartime shakeup at the Pentagon coming just weeks after Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth ousted the Army’s top general.

The Pentagon said in a statement that Phelan was “departing the administration, effective immediately,” without providing further details. Reuters was the first to report Phelan was fired.

You know this will happen. There's no way Dems grow a spine.

Whats the point in these hearings if those questioned just lie continuously?

Everyone knows nothing has dropped in price, in fact everything is going up more and more and will continue to do so the more oil prices and markets are unstable. The more the war costs the US taxpayer and hurts the dollar on the global stage. The more fuel costs and production costs rise and the more that global shipping is suffering and many imports that are unable to get through the Strait of Hormuz are stopped or drastically slowed.

The US jobs numbers have been unbelievably bad and if rumours are true that the Treasury will have to print more money, then inflation & interest rates will be the next to ride again. The national debt is nearing $40 TRILLION DOLLARS! More rumours are circulating that the UAE & Saudi Arabi and Qatar are going to seek reparations from the US from money lost due to the Iran war.

To top it all off, the US is having to pay back $164 billion dollars to businesses who lost out due to tariffs. Much of that money is going to already mega rich companies or investors who bought out the tariff refunds. As of yet, only a couple of companies have said money will go back to the consumers. Obviously when they pay that back they will just raise prices to reclaim it anyway.

None of the above is helping normal people or the poorest in society. Trump's Big Beautiful Bill has already shifted money to the top % in the US and the budget cuts are going to kick in and hurt even more people, especially the cuts to Medicare and Medicaid. The next lot of cuts to services across the board, like the CDC as RFK Jr himself said are going to hurt yet more areas many rely on.

Tourism is way down in the US from all countries. Estimates say up to 25- 30% just from Canadians not coming over the border anymore. The average from EU and UK visitors is nearing 10% and put that with trade deals lost and weapons contracts etc st a time Trump is blowing up the national debt, it's not looking good for the average American and their hopes of prices falling anytime soon.

To me, it's absolutely insane how Trump still has such high support across his base. His own administration are laughing all the way to the bank, but I would have at least expected other Republicans to be coming out against it all. Especially if their constituents are giving them hell over it.

It seems clear. His base and MAGA just hate the Dems so much they don't care. They will support and defend anything, even if it means they suffer themselves just to own the libs. They even seem to be accepting the USA losing on all commercial trade and tourism fronts too.

Republicans are so scared of coming out against Trump because he either has dirt on them or will have them primaried and cut off support and they lose votes from his cult members. The trouble for them now is it looks like many will lose their seats anyway due to strong Dem support and from independents who are tired of it all and can see the damage being done.

It really does look like they have all decided to eat themselves and let so much get destroyed and things get so bad in so many areas all because of personal greed, cowardice and support of a man who is now just making serious bank for himself and his family. Meanwhile, they are all left with no obvious way to go or get themselves out of it all.

But yeah, as RFK Jr said.... Trump has lowered grocery prices.

You know this will happen. There's no way Dems grow a spine.
Then they are deserving of everything they've gotten and will be getting. A lot of what's happening is not just on Republicans and Trump. It's on the people for seeing that the Epstein class and more have been thumbing the scale and ripping them off for years and not giving a fk, on the people the immigrated and turned their noses up on people trying to do the same, on the under educated gleefully watching the education system get worse.... Then we get to the Dems who as you say, don't seem to care much.

I could go on but I don't want to start my morning with this energy....

As long as the Libs (and people of darker complexions and other sexual orientations) are being owned, they probably think they can endure anything else that happens around them.

Interesting read.

Absolutely sickening stuff when you read that all, and to me it's been clear this well predates the Iran conflict and Maduro's removal as well, with the only new entry on the money market being polymarket - and that's clearly just another new level of corruption. The amount of wealth being transfered to the ones that already had most is sickening.

I think if we had to tally it all up, between manipulating the stock market and commodities, foreign exchange, Bitcoin, Polymarket, tax breaks, incentives and refunds, government contracts and so many other things worth billions upon billions - this will indeed be the largest heist in human history. There really is no other way to really classify it.

It is brilliant in some ways as well - in terms of a lot of this being designed to also have "regular people" get in on the act. Sure they may make a few hundred or even several thousands of dollars - but the people behind the curtain would gladly pay us all whatever drop in the bucket it would be in comparison to what they gain from it - just so folks look the other way. Or continue to do so in this case.

Occupy Wall Street ended up being about going after the little fish in comparison to what we re dealing with here.

Yep, he's managed to avoid prosecution by getting elected, the criminal charges have gone away and probably will never come back, he's made a shit load of money for him and his family and he will dish out pardons before the end of his term. It's stuff even the most brazen dictators haven't done and there is feck all things anyone can do or has done to either prevent or prosecute. An absolute shambles of a country.

Forgive my ignorance but are these trades in bitcoin or something? If they are dollar trades then can’t it be somehow traced?

I don’t think for a second that it would lead directly back to Trump/ they’ll have been cleverer than that; but it will surely lead somewhere. To a family member, a broker or financier linked to the administration?

Look at how many powerful people didn’t want any Epstein info to leak. Despite the cumulative power of all of these people, they failed abysmally.

Can someone give me a heads up on why, from all the world’s hackers, whistle blowers, everyone in the FBI’s financial fraud team etc, no one has been able to link it back to Trump himself, or at least his administration? It’s disgusting, and I just can’t accept, maybe naively, that he’s going to get away with this so easily.

You are correct in that tracing Bitcoin manipulation is arguably even harder to trace back and as you indicated - they know that. Regardless, there is too much smoke. For Bitcoin specifically the red flag isn’t just that Trump liked Bitcoin. It’s that his administration was boosting Bitcoin while his own family had skin in the game.

Trump’s White House gave Bitcoin special treatment, including the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve, while Trump-linked crypto ventures were growing and his sons, especially Eric and Don Jr., were involved in American Bitcoin, a mining company tied directly to Bitcoin’s success. The White House and Co boosting a digital currency instead of traditional currencies like say - the US dollar- helps an asset class his own family was profiting from. Untraceable by it's very design. Then throw in the likes of Musk, who backed Trump heavily, had influence early on, and still had Tesla sitting on a big Bitcoin stash, and it gets even harder to pretend the people around this administration had no vested interest.

Pathetic stuff. North Korea levels of blowing your boss.

‘Well, if the drug was $100 and it raises to $600, that would be a 600% rise. If it drops from $600 to $100, that’s a 600% savings.’”

Also he definitely said $600 to $10 or some equally garbled gravel-based nonsense which made even less sense but there you go.

Also, if a price goes from $100 to $600 that’s a 500% increase.
