In the latest edition of the United Hour Podcast, Nik (@Rood) chats to author, Dan Williamson, about his new book 'If I Hadnt Seen Such Riches' which chronicles our 1990/91 European Cup Winners Cup victory, which is a trip down memory lane for those old enough to remember it and a vital history lesson for those who don't.
He's on a roll today. He's mentioned his newest revelation again 'sea' means water and not vision. Of course he passive aggressively implied most of his audience won't know the difference.
Then he called the White House a 'Shit House' Or at least that's what he said it was like when he moved in and how much they have had to restore and redecorate it. The levels of disrespect get deeper and deeper.
Finally, yet again Trump says the quiet part out loud and thinks it's a flex. Quite how a President could think saying this was in any way something to be proud of or positive, I don't know, but he obviously is.

Yup, and in front of a crowd made up of all the top law enforcement officials from all the different agencies and departments. He's literally flipping the bird to every single one of them and laughing while he's doing it.
He's slipped up a bit recently with his clumsy admissions of corruption and illegal orders and it really seems like his overconfidence and the fact he's got away with everything so far has left him feeling invincible and untouchable. You could say rightly so, and you would be right but the one thing we do know is Trump loves to talk, talk about himself and take credit for everything and recently he's got a bit too cocky. We can only hope he goes too far and puts his foot so far in it he can't get it back out.
Is that even possible though? Seems to me like he'd just change the rules to make a way out for himself no matter how deep of a hole he's dug himself into.
Sometimes I feel like we are living in the Matrix, and that the whole Trump as POTUS thing is either a major system glitch, or one of those viruses that wipes out your entire computer.
The truth is, I doubt he will ever be charged for anything. We can live in hope though.

He's suing them because he thinks they failed to prevent a leak of his personal tax records. So he's getting his DoJ to pay him $10 billion of taxpayers money and yet again preventing the release of his tax records. The fecking brass balls on the man. As usual MAGA say absolutely nothing.

He doesnt have the balls to mess around with China. Even Iran is already giving them a very hard time. China has more firepower, more money, bigger trade disruption, more people as well
I'm not even sure Xi has the balls to mess around with Taiwan.
The monopoly they have and the worlds reliance on microchips can't be understated. The disruption would be far worse than Iran's blockade.
China will only move on Taiwan if they end up in dire straits and have nothing to lose. The status quo of sabre rattling is enough for their domestic politics.
I don't see any path where Trump thinks it would be beneficial to take on China either. Closer ties is advantageous for everyone.

It's telling how he turned up like a fecking mafia boss yesterday with Elon Musk, Tim Cook, his kids and their wives and the leaders of Blackstone, BlackRock, NVIDIA, Boeing, META and Goldman Sachs.
It's clear he has gone to try to strongarm trade and industry and not for foreign policy, although he will argue the two are one and the same. He's obviously shitting himself because of the deals China has made with Canada and Europe recently.
The thing is that China greeted Trump with a red carpet, a band and loads of kids (that he weirdly said to Xi that he particularly enjoyed) because they know how to handle him. After he arrived, all the MAGA clowns were all over Social Media and forums giving it loads about how Obama and Biden were never given welcomes like that or treated with such respect. The truth is they didn't need to be, and it wouldn't have made a difference if they were. Neither would have been impressed by it enough to have changed how or what they went over for. With Trump it would, and did and has because of how many times he's commented about it already. It's also clearly worked on the MAGA bozos too given their reaction and attempt to use the greeting and welcome as showing Trump's importantance and the level of respect shown to him compared to Obama and Biden before him.
There's also a clear attempt (that's not getting far) to make an issue out of the fact Xi didn't greet Trump and co personally when they disembarked. It's not a snub nor is it unusual as Xi didn't meet Obama or Biden either and it's actually Chinese diplomatic protocol that dictates visiting guests are not welcomed by the head of state.
The whole MAGA movement being enamoured with the revelry shown to Trump in other countries makes all the sense in the world to me. Just in the workplace alone, these are often the same people who clearly believe they are the tough ones, yet also believe the world is owed to them and get upset if someone dare disagree with that. I've had more of these types cry in my office because someone didn't respect or appreciate them in some way than most others. They don't see what all this pomp and flair is simply meant to influence their critical thinking and in many ways ridicule them.
I'm sure China is going all out to show some of its massive construction projects, the massive parades etc it can host, the obedience of its citizenry on display etc. They ll bring that back here wanting the same for them in the US, and in turn stray even further from what our ideals are and should be. In that regard I say kudos to places like China and Saudi Arabia. You understand the game, while the other party thinks they do.
