The Trump Presidency : Part 2

For me, the most impressive thing in all of this is still the general apathy of the population.

Trump is getting absolutely slaughtered at Madison Square Garden tonight.

There's already dozens of posts from various sides of the arena showing how loud the boos are and at different times in the game.

It's not just inside either.

What is strange though is the Fox News Twitter has a post saying loud cheers and the crowd chanting USA, USA, USA.... When Trump came on the screen.

Where their website is actually reporting the truth. For once.

So who had Trump falling asleep at the Nicks Game on their bingo card?

Mine had fake ass animation attempt, but I reckon that's been saved for Saturday

Jokes aside though.... He's caused so much shit and disruption over this, especially after his Tweet about the NBA back in 2020...... Where he said....

'People are tired of watching the highly political @NBA. Basketball ratings are WAY down, and they won't be coming back. I hope football and baseball are watching and learning because the same thing will be happening to them. Stand tall for our Country and our Flag!!!"

Now he turns up after making such noise about it and he..... Falls asleep

Oh, and the Nicks lost.

Is he simply nocturnal? Up all night writing messages and sleeping all day?

Surely that amount of sleeping during the day and in the middle of crowds can't be good to humans health. It doesn't really matter who you are, if your sleep schedule is fecked then you're fecked.

"The Fake News Media refuses to report how EFFECTIVE the U.S. Naval BLOCKADE is, the most successful Blockade in the history of Naval Warfare. NOTHING GETS THROUGH unless we want it to. IT IS A STEEL WALL! Iran is doing ZERO business, not paying their military, or any of their bills, and quickly becoming a FAILED NATION! Lots of oil is getting out. Praise be to Allah! President DONALD J. TRUMP"

Ok so nothing gets through but as many as 20 ships have been transporting oil everyday. A few to China. And guess where do China get their oil from?

This "Praise be to Allah" stuff is quite weird coming from Trump. It's not the first time either. I honestly can't tell if it's meant to be sarcastic or some kind of appeal to the local populations in the affected area.

Trump posted that the 'US trade deficit has widened by the most it has in 34 years'

I'm not sure he understands that's not a good thing.

He's also called for a massive increase in ICE Agents to be posted in New York City. That comes after he was relentlessly booed at the Nicks game and has received mountains of negative press and posts on social media over his attendance to the game. The game he's also getting shit for falling asleep at.

He really is a pathetic and incredibly vindictive piece of shit. Obviously, that's something most people have known for years.

I know that it's very much intentional but he really is just homelander from the latest series of the boys minus the superpowers. Such a (s*it)stain on humanity .

US inflation in May:
US prices in May rose at their fastest rate in three years, with inflation surging to 4.2%.
The rise, from 3.8% a month earlier, was largely driven by rising energy costs, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) said.

It marked the third month in a row the Consumer Price Index (CPI) has risen, with households increasingly feeling the strain of the US and Israel's war in Iran.

FAKE NEWS
Nah, this is quite obviously exactly what Trump wanted

'Trump on Wednesday said he "loves the inflation", and the "numbers were great"

As he loves inflation he won't want the war to end though because also according to him "inflation will come down like a rock when the war with Iran is over."

He's a complete idiot.

Trump's reply....

He's a fecking sociopath and yet again the media just ignore it. Hopefully the people won't in November.

And he's waiting for his new head of the fed to be in place and then there were be a new wave of demanding interest rate cuts.

I'm not versed in the economics when it comes to this level, but what are the implications and levers to him manipulating interest rates? Like, if he wants it dropped to 1.1% what stops his puppet chair from doing so? Would he have the banking industry and billionaires up his ass in a second?

That is a great question.
I don’t know the answer but someone on here will.
If sensible people say due to xyz we have to raise interest rates but instead some puppet says drop them. What happens?

“Inflation is too high”… “elect Trump”

2024 was a long long time ago, apparently.

Independence of the fed is supposed to be a signal in the global economy that politics is not used for financial decision making. However the fed head has been pressured many times.

A direct demand to cut rates by 1% would crash everything and credit/bonds markets would likely freeze instantly (Liz truss on steroids). Trump essentially controlling the fed by his own whim for every decision would spell the end for global finance. No one would be able to make decisions about financing because politics would dictate every decision and finance cannot work in that environment.

We won’t but he’ll cry “rigged” like he always does. Get ready for more tantrums.

Messing with the Fed's independence is basically the only thing John Roberts and the Republican justices on SCOTUS are willing to stand up to Trump on because it risks the bag for their benefactors. It would destroy the credibility of US Treasuries and crash the global economy. The global financial sector has been able to bury its head in the sand for basically everything Trump has done so line could go up, but that would be catastrophic.

Weaker dollar and higher inflation will stop him.

It's complicated. The fed governors have really long 14 year terms, just so something like this can't happen. The chair is only the first among the governors and can't make unilateral decisions. It will take more than a decade and a half to enforce control over the Fed, similar to the supreme court.

If Trump really wanted to bring interest rates to 1%, the best way for him to do it is to cut back on govt borrowing by reducing unnecessary spending (eg, his continuous global wars), taxing the super rich and introducing fiscal prudence (no MMA fights in White House). Good luck with that.

Also, his core voter base are poor uneducated hyper-religious rural people living off the farm. If he somehow randomly cuts interest rates to 1%, they will be the first ones to feel the brunt and it will further alienate his core voter base, which somehow still seems to be sticking with him. It's an electoral suicide.

Name being taken down from the Kennedy center yet they spent 10 hrs (!!) building scaffolding while they put up the letters with a cherry picker in very little time:

What a fecking joke of a banana republic we've become. Makes you wonder how much the crew is getting paid just to slow walk this.

I don't understand why they didn't use a cherry picker to take them down. The delay with the scaffolding was partially waiting for an appeal that got rejected earlier in the evening. Why they still haven't started removing the letters I have no idea.

Tarp Put Up to Block Onlookers from Watching Trump’s Name Removed From Kennedy Center

Trump filed another request for a 12-hour delay, citing the “thunderstorms in the District of Columbia that presented safety concerns for workers.”

Midnight came and went, and then another hour, the crowd dwindling somewhat as it got later. Then, around 1:30 am ET, workers began putting up a large tarp along the scaffolding that would block the view of the removal of the letters.

Pure banana republic type stuff. The effort expended on this by the admin is hilarious

And yet the likes of Ben Garrison had the bare faced cheek to call the Biden administration a banana republic for following the law and trying to prosecute Trump, when in reality, Biden and Garland went nowhere near far enough and didn’t prosecute Trump like they should’ve.

Aye. In that regard he s right then. We were a banana republic under Biden exactly because they didn't prosecute the guy.
