The two 10's play a massive role in Amorim's system. They need to be quick of thought and action, able to press smartly and efficiently, and constantly use the ball effectively.

We have quite a few players who can theoretically play in those positions and offer their own flavour, but who - or what - would be your preference and why?

I would argue Mainoo and Amad are the only options with the consistency in technique to operate in those areas. Mount as a third option behind them.

I've never been a big fan of Bruno in CM, but I actually think a Bruno and Ugarte partnership may be the way to go for the remainder of this season.

Bruno and Amad. I'd like to see Garnacho trialled in the wing back position as well.

Onana
Yoro - De Ligt - Martinez
Mazraoui - Ugarte - Mainoo - Garnacho
Amad - Bruno
Hojlund
Something like that, with Garnacho constantly offering an outlet on the left making Bruno far more effective in that position than he was on the right yesterday.

Bruno and Amad. They have displayed a good working partnership at times with their quick interplay game.

Mount has to be one of them if pressing from the front is a key attribute.

Choosing Bruno and Amad but I think Mainoo and Amad has the potential to be even better

Can’t change my vote now but my updated answer is Bruno and Mainoo. Amad and Garnacho as front wide players. Shaw and Dalot (even despite his recent poor form) as wingbacks.

Amad and Mainoo could provide some exciting combination play, but I think Bruno should start for now. Mainoo can partner Ugarte deeper.

A central foursome of Ugarte, Mainoo, Amad and Bruno could potentially be decent. A mix of technique, flair and tenacity. Having two players in Mainoo and Amad who can dribble and turn their markers centrally could bring a new dimension to our play.

It's always been Amad and Mount for me, if the latter can stay fit of course. One of the key aspects of in that position is being able to receive, manipulate and make good on-ball decisions under pressure and condensed space. Bruno's is massively unsuited in that aspect.

Damn, forgot about Ugarte too. Forget both of my answers. I have no clue who it should be.

Bruno and Mainoo/Mount rotation

can Mount stay fit though

1. Bruno and Amad
2. Bruno and Mount
3. Amad and Mount

In that order.

Gone for Bruno and Amad, but wouldn't mind also seeing Mainoo and Amad, with Bruno moving back next to Ugarte.

I prefer to see Mount playing wider, he doesn't get involved enough for me to include him centrally, although he would certainly be next in line after the 3 above.

Assuming all are fit (a big assumption)

I would think our best overall is Bruno/Mount this season.
Amad is then getting loads of minutes there as is Mainoo and the roles slowly becomes theirs.

I still can't see Mainoo as a CM, his skillset is so much more useful higher up the pitch + if Ruben stays, those roles will belong to Amad/Mainoo in the near future

I think longer term - Bruno and Amad

In the shorter term, given his familiarity with the role, I think Mount should be a shoe in whilst the team is adjusting.

I thought it was interesting how Amorim basically said Bruno has to stop wanting to drop deep to play the long ball, Either Bruno adapts to the 10 position or he'll be dropped before long.

Might need different options different games.

We looked worse when ipswitch forced us to have possession yesterday. Not many teams are going to let us smash them on the break.

If Amorim wants intensity then it must be Mainoo + Ugarte at the base with Bruno & Mount/Diallo as no 10. Id throw Garnacho/eriksen occasionally when we need a creative spark as no 10

Mount and Amad, Bruno deeper next to Ugarte
This, suddenly Mount becomes an important cog in the bigger wheel if he’s fit. Him and Amad are good pressers and got good stamina. Our press from the front has been weak, disjointed. So having 2 up front who are capable of pressing properly is a good start. I’d imagine Hojlund could be very good at it too

I think he will be moved back before being dropped altogether. Sadly, he is still better than most of our other options in CM despite it not being his natural position. And, until someone steps up and tries to take the mantle from Bruno, he will continue to be important for us because nobody else even comes close to his hunger for getting on the ball.

I do think he has the intelligence to develop into what RA wants of him in the 10 position, though. Improved even after half time when he was moved to the left 10 and he could open up to the pitch more. I liked to see the small changes like that that Amorim introduced yesterday.

For now I'd go with:

----------------Onana
Maz---De Ligt --- Martinez
Dalot---Ugarte--Casemiro--Garnacho
--------------Amad----Bruno
--------------------Hojlund

Give the players a bit more security in the middle while they're learning the defensive shape and transitions. That first set up is closer to what Conte had with his title winning Chelsea - Matic and Kante in the middle.

Then I'd eventually go for

-------------Onana
----Yoro--De ligt----Shaw
Dalot----Ugarte---Mainoo---Garnacho
----------Amad-----Bruno
--------------------Hojlund

This second set up is closer to what Tuchel had with Chelsea - Mainoo to develop as the Joginho type of player to get on the ball for us, and Ugarte as the high energy ball winner.

We need to avoid Bruno in that mid 2 at all costs. It's the wrong profile of player.

I prefer Shaw to Martinez, because he's faster and he can more naturally overlap and push the LWB further forward if we need.

At the cost of 1 goal every 15 games between them. These attacking positions call for ruthlessness in the premier league.
Mount aside, we don't have any players that have demonstrated ruthlessness (output?) in these positions in our team, which is why we can only go on skillset here.

Amad deserves a shot of it being him +1 other. The fact he’s left footed too helps as it will bring a better balance for the attack.

I’d go with him and Bruno for now, but would like to see Amad & Garnacho given a chance to build a partnership as the two attackers at some point.

When I look at the squad we currently have the players I want the next team to be built around are Yoro, Mainoo, Amad & Garnacho. They’re the future. In an ideal world Hoijund would be part of that group too, but I’m not convinced. Either way Ruben just had to find a way to make it work. It’s time to phase the likes of Casimero, Eriksen, Rashford & Bruno out of the team and build something with the players who are the future of United.

Mount and Eriksen, of course.
Or Mount and Amad.

This poll is perfect proof of why we are struggling.

So many clueless fans and managers fooling themselves into thinking Bruno is undroppable.
