The U.S. and Israel attack Iran

I said "Lesser"!:

Just a reminder that less than 6% of the UK population stated they were Muslim in the last census.

I wish that message would get out there instead of Netanyahu and (I think it was also previously said by) JD Vance.

We live in a post factual world dominated by the algorithm. Many around the world are convinced that the UK is a crime infested hellhole, when most statistics show that crime as a whole has sharply decreased over the past 30 years. So i'm not surprised that that message doesn't make it out there either

Has he conveniently forgotten Pakistan has nukes and is an actual Islamic Republic? I'm mean, the name the Islamic Republic Of Pakistan kind of gives it away. As does them having nukes. Does he also know the UK Muslim population is somewhere between 6 & 8%. Or, does he really think everyone is just that fecking stupid?

It's so infuriating how these fecking war criminals get away with so many lies and so much incredibly dangerous misinformation and nobody EVER challenges them or puts them right. It's also immensely infuriating and engaging how the majority of normal people just ignore it all or are apathetic about it as well as those that actually fecking believe it.

The worlds press has a duty to counter these lies and challenge and correct them as well as discredit those who spread them so openly. It's made worse with Social Media sites like Twitter that allow it and also openly promote it. We are being failed by our system from top to bottom and the vast majority of the media are as complicit as those in charge.

There's all that plus the fact that the 'Islamic republic of the UK' has bent over backward to assist and appease Israel over the past decade or more.

Would any other Islamic Republic have done the same?

Great point. However, I'm guessing that's why he's saying it. The UK has been a staunch ally for a long time but recently there has been a clear change in the public perception to Israel and a noticeable reaction to that with demonstrations and rallies etc. I think Burnham becoming Prime Minister and some of his comments have given Netenyahu cause for concern, despite nothing being put in to policy or action yet. I bet he's also worried about the number of politicians (Muslim & non Muslim) who are starting to speak out about the wars in Gaza and Lebanon as well as Israel's influence and involvement in UK politics.

I'm guessing this might be his way of trying to generate a response from 10 Downing Street as well as putting more irrational fear in to the British public and causing more divison in the political parties and the general public. It comes across as pretty desperate and might be some insight to the pressure he's feeling as support for Israel and especially their wars continue to decrease the longer this goes on, as well as opposition continuing to gain ground.

Of course none of that could be true and I could be completely wrong.

I'm pretty sure 25% of Israel are Muslims....which is like 3x higher than UK's percentage...

One would like to hope that war criminals like netenyahu wouldn’t prosper in today’s world.
What he has done very effectively is make Israel a complete pariah in the views of everyone in the uk who isn’t one of the following (and it’s not exclusive it’s a generalisation I’m sure many Jews don’t agree with what is going on)
Jewish
Reform voter
Doesn’t engage in politics
Doesn’t understand very much at all

Great news that the Straight is now US property.
what's this now?

“After we finish defeating Iran, which is being very badly defeated, pretty soon I’ll be declaring the Hormuz strait a territory of the United States,” Trump said on Friday. “Essentially, that’s what it is. We have the blockade. No ships get through unless we want them to.”

Essentially when your ships and troops and (inshallah) your empire ends up on the bottom of the thing, then I think it's fair to grant the US some limited rights to the place, only in terms of protection from grave desecration and such.

Iran doesn't agree with Trump and says Hormuz belongs to Iran.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi stressed Saturday that the Strait of Hormuz “will remain Iranian”, after US President Donald Trump said he would “soon” declare the waterway part of American territory, AFP reports.

“The Strait of Hormuz has been Iranian, is Iranian, and will remain Iranian,” Gharibabadi said on X, adding that the route “will be opened and closed only at Iran’s command”.

Well Venezuela is a US state now, Cuba will be soon. Then Canada, Greenland.......

He continues to get away with it though. He's like a really shit & incredibly thick Bond villain. Or is he? Is he a genius?

He keeps getting away with it all. If you discount the billions made from homegrown scams, selling pardons, the multiple contracts for him and his family, selling citizenship, continually buying stocks and manipulating the stock market, selling Truth posts for early access to his stock affecting posts, countless environmental executive orders that only help big energy companies..... You are still left with the war in Iran, the Gaza rebuilding project, selling secrets to foreign governments, killing hundreds on boats from Venezuela. He's also bragged about stealing billions of dollars of oil from Venezuela and he's clearly making bllions from his Board of Peace, all of which has gone missing. Gifts from Qatar and his involvement in the World Cup scams..... It's fecking endless.....

Oh, and the small matter of the Epstein Files and his recent blocking of any investigation in to the ranch in New Mexico.......

But Obama wore a tan suit.

You have to give it to him. His last term was a fecking joke, only curtailed by COVID. This one... It's hard to believe it's real. He's exposed the US and the world as being toothless pussies. He's made everything his playground and he's running round taking what he wants when he wants and kicking sand in the faces of anyone who dares speak out against him.

I think the next logical step is a golf course, I'm thinking Links of Hormutz, 9 holes in the Omani side and 9 on the Iranian side.

If this pedophile is able to sell this to voters, or if the Democrats let him get away with it, in a 'cost of living' election cycle then all is lost. The moral appeals obviously don't work but if you can 't energise people to come out for their own self interests, when their personal finances are under such explicit attacks, then I don't know where you go.

I love how everyone claps when hugely increased petrol prices are apparently ok.
If I remember correctly didn’t he say exactly the opposite would happen?
It does all make sense from a wider perspective. US school kids , we will give you a much narrower US is great “education”. We will not vaccinate you properly. We will remove brown people from the country (and occasionally just kill them for no reason).
It’s a long term play.
Not trumps long term play I don’t think. He has the mental capacity of an out of date yoghurt: someone else’s long term play.

High-T War fighter moral seems to be at an all time high, sailors taking a dip in the North Arabian, motivational graffiti on the wings, pictures circulating of canteens serving up the finest war fighter slop. You love to see it.

The word I used was changed to universally adored legend. I'm sure there's a story behind it.
I didn't know we had that autocorrect, but the word you used is terrible Internet crap, so I'm happy we change it.

True, I was just quoting what one of the sailors wrote in that picture. At least they are aware of it.

You could take this to be a bit of gallows humor from a bunch of young service members that might be just a bit too online. However, the overall point about this being a low morale war from the start is probably quite accurate, at least compared to the first years of Iraq and Afghanistan where American patriotism and lust for revenge were extremely high.

Yeah I remember similar in Iraq even during the initial deployment when the US were still winning - although the contempt for Israel is obviously a modern iteration. And probably owes as much to Vietnam iconography, Full Metal Jacket and the like, than any mutinous rumbling that might be going on. Still, putting Hegseth in charge is illustrative of the incompetence that the Trump regime has treated the military with. The grumblings we're hearing from the generals to the grunts is only getting louder.

When you have a brutal imperialist military at your disposal why wouldn't you want it to be well run?

Great news that the Straight is now US property.
It's going to be like the great "Gulf of America" which everyone keeps on calling the Gulf of Mexico outside of the Trump regime and segments of MAGA land. They'll just play pretend that it's theirs

On a Monday it’s Strait of Trump and on Friday it’s Strait of Iran

There are lots of reports coming from the last couple of days that the US Navy has been doing escort missions through the strait of hormuz and quite a lot of tankers have been getting through.

Nobody credible in mainstream media has reported it apart from CNN (who aren't exactly the most credible), but this seems like an interesting development.

Doing active escort missions is very dangerous for a navy built on operating in an Ocean, not for countering Jeune Ecole tactics.

CENTCOM have denied such a mission exists. But a lot of smoke so far.

Your head is also in the noose with the rest of us, you disgusting old pedophile.

Ah, so basically back to where things were when Trump cancelled JCPOA? That finally makes this war totally worth it!

Considering that only 3 ships went through the Strait yesterday, we can assume it is false.

Considering that only 3 ships went through the Strait yesterday, we can assume it is false.

That's...not a good indicator at all, because it assumes that everyone is transparent about it.

Here's an article from Politico yesterday:

To be sure, tracking the amount of tankers leaving the strait is challenging. Ships are turning off their transponders to avoid detection, satellite imaging has been compromised in some areas and the U.S. military is moving tankers under secretive conditions. But Smith said organizations like Kpler have now had months to adapt to the new operating environment and have adjusted accordingly with new methodology.

Though 9 million barrels seems like a stretch, there has been an uptick in the amount of crude escaping the strait in recent months, according to Michelle Bockmann, an analyst at Windward, a maritime intelligence firm. In July, data shows that up to 5 million barrels a day moved through the strait, compared to 4 million in June and 1.6 million in July, she said.

EDIT - checked the news this morning and Mainstream sources are now reporting this, like NYT
