* The methodology for this particular organization will be revealed in full before the Quarter-finals so as to not influence the voting patterns in the league matches.
** In-group sorting in alphabetical order, so you can't glean any pertinent information.

  • The winner from each Group will advance to the Quarter-final stage.
  • Two 2nd placed teams with the best aggregate vote-difference will advance to the Quarter-final stage, along with the Group winners. In case of tied goal-difference, the progression will be based on their manager rankings. In case of tied manager rankings, the progression will be based on their pick times.
  • Each team in a group will play 1 match against the other teams in that group, so 2 matches for every team.

  • Scheduling information: Please wind up your 1st match by Wednesday (12 August) at the latest, and the 2nd match by Tuesday (18 August) at the latest.
  • Matchday related information (read or die): You must exclude at least 1 player from your first 11 picks for the 1st match, and again at least 1 player from you first 11 picks for the 2nd match. You can exclude a particular player only once, so you will have to use at least 2 players from pick 12—14.

Good luck, everyone! :)

Ouch. That's a tough group against tough drafters. Looks an interesting setup though Invi.

@harms @Šjor Bepo @Gio

When's good for you?

I can do Thursday to Tuesday (if an early ish start on Tuesday). Then Friday 14th onwards.

What’s the deal with the extra 3 players we’ve chose?

The league format looks great. Everyone definitely should get two shots with their team drafted for so long.

Wasn't really keen on playing games this time around, so happy to sit out but should be fun watching this with a nice long set of matches and the excitement of group progressions.

Group E does look like the group of death.

Nice! Congratz GSTQ!
Thanks mate.

Not a criticism, but just to point out that we've tried this already and I recall it didn't work that that well. Matches in weekends get less votes or in case of tough draws, many won't vote at all. It depends on voter pattern more than actual teams in the match. Fine either way.

Have 2 options in mind if you reckon this will hurt some managers' chances in a significant way:
  • No weekend matches, and an extension of the Group Stage timeline.
  • Vote-difference is irrelevant and we go straight to this: the progression will be based on manager rankings. In case of tied manager rankings, the progression will be based on pick times.

Open to alternative suggestions as well! :)

If you use vote percentage instead of vote difference, the abnormal patterns of voting don't matter anymore.

For example 8-10 loses against 9-10 or 9-11 and wins against 7-9 and 7-10

7-10 : 41.17%
7-9 : 43.75%
8-10 : 44.44%
9-11 : 45%
9-10 : 47.36%

As a best drafter scrappy should get Fred in his first XI not a free pass. Just my two cents on the situation.
