For the 2019-2020 season, feel free to add anything stupid, funny or just bizarre from the world of football that occurs during the season

He's so feckin' terrible... Every year I pray for an extra year for Godín. Not that he is as good as he used to be, but Coates is his immediate backup.

33yo-28yo, here's hoping for 3 more.

Ex scouser Sebastian Coates gives away 3 penalties and gets a red in 1 game

Damn, it really looks like he doesn't know that he's not allowed to kick other players without playing the ball first.

Before France Albania, they accidentally played the Andorra anthem. Logically the Albanians were a bit pissed. Then the stadium speaker apologised to the Armenians for getting it wrong.

United with a seriously weak squad, that finished miles off everyone last year, decided that we didn't need any upgrade further forward than defence except for a young championship winger.

How can that not be an indirect free kick? Technical errors are punished with indirect fks, not penalties.

No, a pen is the right decision. From FIFA:

If play is stopped and the interference was by:
• a team official, substitute, substituted or sent off player, play restarts with a
direct free kick or penalty kick
• an outside agent, play restarts with a dropped ball

Two Italian footballers have been given one-match bans for blasphemy during Serie A matches.

Sassuolo's Francesco Magnanelli and Parma's Matteo Scozzarella were shown on television making blasphemous remarks in separate incidents.

There is a strict ban on taking God's name in vain in Italy, and the nation's football association has disciplined players heard doing so since 2010.

Udinese midfielder Rolando Mandragora was banned for the offence in 2018.
