His absence doesn't weaken Liverpool. He was a relatively cheap signing capable of a nice pass or shot but he's not elite level.

Top 5 central midfielder in world football over the last 6-7 years easily, maybe top three.

even if we concede that he isn’t elite (debateable), considering him in the context of our injury problems (no jones no Keita), and relative to our next best available midfielders (Henderson, Milner), it is disastrous imo

League is almost already gone if you can’t beat promoted teams. City are relentless in that regard.
this Is what I mean. Before the injury I thought we’d need to beat City at least once, but probably twice to win the league. But with the injury now it may not be enough considering how tight the margins are.

kinda crazy how the league can feel on a knife’s edge after GW1 but I suppose this is just how things are now

Modric, Kroos, de Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, David Silva, Kante, Gundogan, Fabinho, Casemiro have all played more and been more important in their team's success over that period, off the top of my head.

That’s an absurd post. He was nothing short of brilliant last season and even this season in the community shield. To suggest his absence doesn’t weaken Liverpool is ridiculous.

He's only out for 6 weeks.

This is the same club that rose VVD from the dead. He could be back in 4.
6 weeks is a humongous amount of time in a title race. Liverpool could easily be miles off the title in 6 weeks if they are carrying a weak midfield.

Winning titles means nothing to this team.

They'll still be the best team in England, Europe, the world and well best team ever to win fcuk all. The one that everyone wants to beat.

Yep, nearly all of Liverpool's dropped points last season came when he was injured, they were almost unstoppable with him in the team. Massive loss.

IMO Thiago is ahead of Bernardo, Silva, Gündogan, Fabinho, Casemiro and maybe even Kanté.

A sensationally bad take. When he’s on song he takes them up a level. Phenomenal talent.

That's mad. He was poor in his first season but he was one of their most important players last season.

Yeah he's one of the best midfielders in world football when he is fit.

Bizarre to think that playing Milner/Elliot instead of him doesn't weaken them.

He’s really good when he’s on it but he gets far too many injuries like this.

But it’s ok because Milner and Henderson can run around and are fit enough to play until they’re 80.
Can you not make it 8 weeks until after we play them. Thanks.

Huge loss this, probably title altering. (If it was even a question) The difference in points with and without him is stark.

He is a glorified accident to happen. Fancy passes when no one needs them and never relevant in important games, hated him for Bayern when everyone creamed themselves over 1 fancy no look lob per game.
