- delayed offside calls that let the play go on for an age before the whistle is blown.

- players who have a non-playing foot that would land them in amateur football. *"oh, it's gone to his bad foot!" cue him shanking it like he's never kicked a ball in his life, and it being seen as acceptable.

- any defender who willingly goes touch-tight on someone and then gets rolled for it.

- midfielders who frequently make unforced passing errors to the opposition under no pressure. This is also the hardest aspect of watching leagues below the PL in England.

- players who actively try and hurt/injure the opposition that don't get their comeuppance for it. One aspect of the dark arts that most offensive players have lost.

- watching any of the league-chasing teams play football... especially if they've been on before we play. The gulf is depressing.

Phrases that praise players for looking for fouls. Like won a foul, entices contact.

Fans who have a paddy that owners don’t invest there own money and what the club to be self sufficient.

The substitution with a minute to go.

teams who take the ball to the corner flag

goal keepers who always just hoof it to the opposition

Fans who don't seem to realise you can't be a crap player and play in the premier league, and that even the remotest bit of "crapness" is relative to the high level they're operating at.

Referees nowadays are getting so close to the play that they’re almost marking players or cut passing lanes. It seems like there always is at least one moment in every game when I’m yelling at the referee to move away from the play.
This one especially. Don't understand how players/coaches don't seem to mind refs clogging the middle of the pitch.

By Mbappé do you mean the by far the best PSG player that has as many goals & assists as all of Messi, Neymar & Di Maria combined?
Thats the one.

Performances aside, him being not commiting to PSG either way is probably going down really well behind the scenes.

Performances aside, what's the issue? You've said that players are not giving their all in that situation (to quote: "wonder why the player puts only puts in the bare minimum of effort"). He clearly isn't, being by far the best player in their side and overperforming even some of the bigger names (not that there are many). So how is a player following his contract and doing his best while doing so is an issue?

Ah right I get you now, Mbappe was probably a bad example in the second point.

Interviewers asking long winded questions every time these days. 99% of the time it’s waffle contributing nothing to the context but just padding their airtime and confusing the interviewee. Even more annoying when it’s directed at someone who isn’t a native English speaker.

Nothing annoys me more than set pieces that are a good chance for a cross into the box played with a really close pass.

Players refusing to take throw-ins, waiting for the full back to jog up the pitch. Infuriating when you can just quickly get the game going
Isn't that more to keep the shape of the team?
Yes, many years of basketball, no one spits on the court.
Doesn't basketball have rolling subs?
When the ball’s going out of play near a linesman and they step out of the way of it. Shouldn’t do, but winds me right up
I don't think the linesman is allowed to touch the ball

Players standing a yard in front of the ball preventing a team from taking a quick free-kick. The ref either ignores it or gives them a free pass. Why?

Why wouldn’t they? The referee needs to be asked to allow a quick free kick as it is, defending teams deserve a right to negate it themselves as well
If the player quickly asks the ref to take the quick free-kick and the opposition player is a yard away, even if the ref consents to the quick free kick, it will be delayed by a few seconds waiting for the opposition player to back off, which could negate the advantage of taking it quick in the first place.

Yes, this is exactly the reason it is done. Well done.

Defenders don’t want a quick free kick to be taken. They buy their team a chance to get in position, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it

In a way, the defending team benefits from the free kick more than the attacking team. They can stop the attacking team's momentum, they have a chance to get everyone behind the ball or in position, and they can then pounce on the attacking team as it's far easier to anticipate where the ball is going to go.

Completely agree with @Hoof The Ball on this one. If a team wants to take a free kick quickly, they should be allowed to. It's their free kick, after all.

Would find a negative about United if they won a quadruple.

The amount of betting and gambling ads around football and how its shoved in your face constantly. I like gambling in moderation don’t get me wrong but at this point it’s got to be having a negative effect on people, particularly the young and impressionable demographic.

The way many United fans allow the Class of 92 to blinker their reality about how many actually top class talent the academy has produced since then. To the point where if we're linked with a world class striker or keeper or whatever there will inevitably be the comment doubting our interest and citing some 9 year old child from the youth set up who'll "need games"

Posters on redcafe who are defensive over a particular player and do nothing but spam you full of stats that suit their agenda. Also, those who are completely ignorant of any statistical value whatsoever. "Stats schmats".

People who post hypothetical XI's made up of players that we've not even signed, and likely never will.

Corner takers not placing the ball within the corner triangle.

It fekin boils my piss to watch, week-in-week-out, professional players put the ball outside the line quoting the excuse the edge of the ball is within the line.

Feck off!!

Trying to steal a couple more millimetres in the hope it's will make all the difference to their shite corner kick is infuriating.

They even have the audacity to moan at the linesman when he asks them to pull it back a bit, looking over the ball as if their plumbers-line in their heads is more accurate. And what's worse is that its creeping into the women's game. They should do away with this nonsense 'as long as the edge of the ball touch the edges of the line' bollocks. It's cheating, plain and simple.

Either put it on the line or within the bloody triangle!!!!

Cnuts.

Us not changing our free kicks. Try something different, they're tragic. (same with corners)

Also, referees are so concentrated on VAR, they're forgetting to book diving.

Bruno, stop rolling around, you're a good player, you don't need to do it.

Martin Tyler not reacting to goals.

Feeling a million miles away from city. Feck off Pep, if he goes we'll be closer

No it's not.

Think about goal line technology, it's only a goal of the whole ball is over the line,
The same rules apply with throw ins, corners and when putting the ball down to take a corner.
