Thomas Frank | Tottenham Manager

Can’t believe Spurs will beat us in a cup final, sack their manager, and then that manager gets a new job and gets sacked, and then will go on to sack their replacement manager before we sack Amorim.

They mean that at the beginning of the season after he started okay people were saying we'd missed out not apointing Frank before Spurs did.
Ah, my bad. Re-reading the post, it's pretty obvious that's what they meant.

The win at the Etihad was an impressive result but iirc that was largely down to City looking in pre-season mode.

We are gluttons for punishment, it seems.

Unless my stream is well behind... Spurs have continued to look just as shit as they have done in their last few home games.

Is the kneejerk not the people wanking off about Frank in the first few pages? At least that's what I assumed the poster meant. I've never rated him.

It certainly seems hard to imagine that result if the fixture had been played this weekend.

You should have read on a couple of posts more.

Calling some fans not true Tottenham fans for booing a player...risky strategy when you keep losing at home and letting down paying fans

He might be one of those managers that's very good at smaller to medium size clubs who are punching above their weight. Or teams that are more comfortable at sitting deep and play on the counter. I think he could do a good job at Everton, West Ham or Forest for example. But he's really struggling at Spurs!*

* PS Spurs are still ahead of us in the league by the way.

Or he might have been simply a cog in a very well-drilled machine at Brentford. I’m surprised at how quickly it’s nosedived for him at Spurs, thought he’d do a lot better than he is at the moment.

It’s still so surprising that these managers who make it through so many badges still only have one idea, that they cling to as the ship goes down.

At least allow space for the idea that your one singular idea might not work and try something, anything else!

I still really hate him as a manager tbf. He will do well, whether that’s at Spurs or somewhere else, time will tell.

They are weirdly a very tough match up for Man. City. Get points off them most seasons.

Frank's in trouble though. Would expect them to lose to Newcastle on Tuesday. Still need probably 2 wins from last 3 to be sure of making play offs in CL and to me the 20th December game at home to Liverpool has the feel of being a decisive one for the losing manager in having the rest of the season off.

He's got Tottenham to where they exactly should be, Midtable. I don't understand this expectation for Tottenham to be top 6 given how bad their current squad is.

None of their players would get into the top 4 (Ars, City, Liv, Chel), and they are far off in terms of squad quality from the teams that make up the rest of the top 7 (Newcastle, Villa, Man Utd).

Newcastle A
Brentford H
Forest A
Liverpool H
Palace A

Tricky set of games before the new year in the PL.

Yeah, it's not looking good.

Fans booing the team and Vicario after his error, Frank calling them out as not real fans and the team collectively deciding to not clap/acknowledge those still in the ground at the end of the game. Playing shite football, long throws, consistently low xG, no real leaders within he team. Think the fanbase has gotten to such a negative and toxic level that it's basically just become the default reaction whenever it starts to go pear-shaped - which for yesterday was after 5 minutes. The fans don't have the patience for another rebuild and certainly not one where the football is so drab. Going to be tough to turn this around and it's not looking like Frank is the one to do it.

Hmm maybe Kulusevski or Maddison if they are 100% fit and firing, VDV and Romero are good, are they good enough to displace one of the top 4 teams CB's? Arguable. Spurs midfield though is uninspiring and average, Bergvall has a bit about him but is a kid. I think the thought from Spurs fans is that they should be doing better than the "smaller" teams above them, which is, I am sure, how the Man Utd fans feel seeing Sunderland in 4th place. In fact 4th through 9th you have Sunderland, Villa, Palace, Brighton, Brentford, Bournemouth. The you have the "big" clubs, Tottenham, Newcastle, United, Liverpool.

Any Spurs fan that thinks they should be challenging City, Arsenal or Chelsea with their current squad is simply delusional. They have lost Kane and Son their two world class attacking players, and replaced them with kids, the only decent player investment in recent times has been Kudus, with some players to fill holes like Danso and Palhinha.

Several months on between that horrendous European final between ourselves and them. Whilst both clubs are getting much better results I have to say the standard of football produced from United, and Spurs in particular is just absolutely shocking. Just complete and utter dross. Spurs at home in particular just so bad to watch. You genuinely can’t criticise their fans for booing the team off every home game.

Frank seems to be almost over tinkering, changing systems, players from game to game. Think it’d be more beneficial to stick with something for a little while and try and get continuity. I think they almost have too many options at times and it’s hurting them.

Agree completely. The only players in the squad who seem to be unanimously rated are VDV, Romero and Porro. Yet the defence has been awful for the entire time they’ve played together.

Kulusevski is obviously a big miss. Otherwise, they’ve wasted an extraordinary amount of money on average midfielders and attackers over the last few years.

To be fair, the keeper has been one of their best performers the last 2 years. It is a bit unfair to boo him in particular for one silly mistake

Look at the squad, full of average players. That Johnson lad is cack

Vicario is pretty far down the list of issues they have

Managers at smaller clubs are like academy players ,only few of them are going to make it to big clubs/first team.

Being an Underdog side, sitting deep and playing on the counter is a different skill set, being the manager of a big side where opposing teams sit deep most of the times and you are required to break them down is a different skill set. That is what separate good managers from great managers.

It also takes more time to incorporate and a capable squad without too many injuries.

35 mins in and not a single shot.

Again.

Is he a social experiment?
