€60m release clause I remember reading somewhere...

Sancho €120m, Partey €60m, Upamecano €50m, €230 spend to get the following squad:

DDG,
AWB, Upamecano, Maguire, Williams
Partey, Pogba
Bruno
Sancho, Martial, Rashford

Romero/Henderson
Dalot, Tuanzebe, Lindelof, Shaw
Fred, McT
Gomes(hopefully getting a chance)
Mata, Greenwood, James

I see with the 2nd XI there’s still a few gaps to fill but that first XI can compete with anyone I think.
Yeah this would be perfection, and it actually seems realistic.

If Pogba was to leave swap Grealish in for him and reinvest the change in some youngsters to fill that second 11, or, god forbid, fix the fecking roof at Old Trafford.

Partey is a proper core type of player, who is strong in defence, and good in passing and dribbling too.
I never we should not get him. I think we can't get him.

From noises in the media it looks like we will surely buy Grealish in the summer. We also need another striker and a right-winger. I bet they keep Matic. I never said Matic is good enough for United. I know he only looks good against teams who don't press so much. I know he can't play 2 games in a week. Unless we also sell De Gea to play Henderson, or sell Pogba I don't see where the money for Partey is. Management may try to convert McTominay into a DCM.

Sell:
Smalling: £18m
Jones : £8m
Lingard : £16
Pereira : £14
Rojo : £6m

Total : £62m

Buy:
Grealish : £45m

All seemed feasible but the price for grealish. We surely won't get him for that amount. Or have I been missing some clause thingy?

If they are relegated (possible if not likely) it should be lower. Still probably 50-60 mind.

Why spend €50m on another crocked centre half? We already have 3 or 4 such centre-halfs. Upamecano has had too many scary knee injuries to justify that price. Unless you can find someone to insure him, I would not bother.

We're selling Pogba, and will be due a good chunk of the Lukaku fee this year. We're actually well set to have a decent summer of incomings. Whether we will, is another matter.

EDIT - If I'm being realistic, it'll most likely be another 3 in and a few out. My thinking is it'll be Grealish, a RW (Sancho being the dream), and a CM/striker - maybe Ighalo is signed permanently on a 2 or 3 year deal as well if he impresses.

Good luck in getting Grealish for 45m....

Maddison, who is on similar level of performances and stats, and at similar age, playing in same position and same nationality, is reportedly value at 85m.

I would expect Grealish to be a lot cheaper than Maddison as Villa are looking likely to go down this season. I doubt he will want to stay at Villa and will push for a move. So that should bring the price down a bit. How far I don't know though.

I wouldn't expect Villa to be that generous, gifting us their price assets with discount.

Just an example. Back in summer we are trying to buy an inexperience young English midfielder Longstaff from Newcastle for 15m. Sounds reasonable bid from us right? Newcastle wants 50m.

When we are interest in getting Maguire, an English international player, the original quote price is at around 45-55m, which is quite reasonable for everyone right? Maybe not for Leicester, we bought him for 80m.

Good luck in Villa accepting 45m bid from us right away for Grealish, the young English midfielder who is doing quite well this season.

Problem with keeping Pogba after signing Grealish/Partey is, he wont be happy to be on bench or getting substituted (you know what happened between him and Jose) so I think better we move him on as we need team players but the problem here is looks like not many are in for him.

Which one you go for between Partey/Zakaria/Soumare/Neves/Saul or your preferred order for a DM role?
Saul is Atletico through and through, so unless they want to sell him, I don't see us signing him. From the rest I would take Zakaria personally.

That buy price looks reasonable considering they gets relegated.

Need to note that Newcastle are still in PL and why does they want to loose player for low price?Villa most probably get relegated in that case whats wrong in accepting bid in category of 45M plus player keep to move.Unless there is serious competition for player from the league we can get Grealish for the price mentioned above.

It's wrong, because Grealish is their main hope of getting back to PL?

Id say your sell price for ROJO is realistic.

The rest are way too expensive.
You're very optimistic

We're not going to spend 230M in a window guys, come on. The only way that happens is if Pogba leaves.

Buying Partey is stocking up on a player you'd like to have but don't really need. He's no significant improvement on Fred or McTominay. I put getting right winger above him. United are skin flint now. Can't afford to buy everyone. Obviously if Matic and/or Pogba leave they must be replaced, otherwise, I don't see it. Plus: I expect Ole will go for a younger player. He bought players in their prime when he needed to (Maguire and Fernandes), otherwise club management prefer younger players with more potential than Partey.

There isn't even a proper source for this. It should be in the Football Forum. Transfer Forum is supposed to be for actual credible links.
Not meaning to be a prick but if you don't see him as a significant upgrade on those players I would question how familiar you are with Partey. I actually think he's Atletico's best midfielder these days. I don't classify him as playing out and out as a DM though because he does a lot of things. He's an excellent passer for example. He is a very tactically disciplined player. If he's available for this buyout clause and fancies a move we'd be mental not to get him and let him go to a rival. A midfield with Partey, Bruno and either Pogba or Grealish would be incredibly good.

Him and sancho, keep pogba. You'd have to think we could contest then
Need a #9 to replace Ighalo, add depth, and challenge Martial too. Otherwise we’re one injury away from not having a striker again.

He's already doing his best to keep Villa on top and inspite of all those if they still go down and if players intention is to move to his dream club what can club do ?

45 million is decent.

Jack Grealish should be valued at 25-30 million pounds without inflation, that makes him a 50 million to 60 million valued player.

Aston Villa went down, Villa may have a clause in his contract, or usually after that happens, players will have 50% discount.

We can get Grealish for 35-40 million without clauses.

One thing is for sure, it won't be easy because logically, other clubs will want Grealish too.

£45m is a bit of a pipe dream really

I could see that if he gets relegated and nobody else wants him, but there will surely be a few clubs bidding?

55m for Maguire and 15m for Longstaff is also decent. Doesn't mean we will definitely get them for that price too.
First theres a buyers, then there's a seller. Grealish has been revelation this season and has been Villa best performer, his stats and performances are comparable to Maddison, who is valued at 85m. We just paid Maguire for 80m in Summer, you really think Villa will be that generous to let him join us for the amount?
You are only assuming Villa will go down anyway, and you are guessing there will be a clause in his contract to allow him leave for 50% less.

There should be a relegation clause in every mid to low table clubs. It is what it is.

It was reported his recent contract has 45million release clause, you would expect relegation clause, will be lower than that.

This is different case than Maguire or Maddison. One is established PL club, another is promoted side.

I was reading Grealish's thread on Villa Talk earlier and many believe that he isn't a CM and should be either deployed in a free role centrally or as a inverted forward.

If that is the case, then maybe we should look to the continent for answers and sign a creative CM who would provide not only creativity/craft/guile, but also have the game to help in defensive transitions.

Lots of reports that Atletico want to sign Rakitic from Barca but with how many midfielders they already have would that mean Partey or Saul moving on ? Unless Atletico are planning on Rakitic being a squad player.

A relatively low buyout clause makes Thomas the most likely to leave though he does have a loyalty similar to Saul. Saul has a big clause and a very long contract. Thomas is more what we need and I also think since Atletico have good players in Llorente and Herrera at CM he may be more replaceable than Saul though I do think Thomas has been their best performing midfielder over the last 12 months. Atletico can't match our wages in addition to which all the extra marketing opportunities you get being a United player, plus I've heard somewhere that he was a United fan and I'm sure the challenge of a new league could interest him. I think it's realistic that we can get Thomas. I hope we go in for him. I feel his type of player would be a massive hit at United and he'd get a lot more attention in England than he does in Spain. If he is attainable then it's even more important as having him means a rival doesn't get him and with his versatility and class he would strengthen any team.

He's been pretty impressive tonight I think, but Saul Niguez is still the one that catches the eye. Surely some of these players will be available in the summer after all that money they spent last year and the new stadium and what have you. Not for us, mind you - we should stick with wor Fred

He's so classy with the ball at his feet to compliment his off ball defensive prowess

Really is the best DM in Spain right now and has a good shout at being the best in Europe on present form

Has anyone been able to find out if his release clause being somewhere in the region of £40-£50 million is true ? I guess so much rests on whether we sell Pogba or not but if Partey is available for £40-£50 million, Grealish becomes available for £40-£45 million if Villa go down and we sign Sancho we could have a truly amazing summer window.

He’s clever at keeping the ball and avoiding tackles but his pass accuracy has been poor and he can’t see other players runs.
