They should be fun to watch next season. They won't be a major threat in the CL as long as they have Cavani leading their line though.

Will be interesting to see how he'll handle some of the big egos in that team.

Excellent tactician but is he the right man to get them into the latter stages of the CL consistently, if not win it?

PSG suffer the paradox of being way too good for the French league and not near good enough for the Champions League.

Tuchel won't win the CL. He must have a great agent as he's won next to nothing as a manager.

Could be an interestung situation with us too, only signed a 2 year contract, imagine if he does well we could sound him out as a next appointment, assuming Mourinho only lasts till his current contract ends.

That's not a paradox and not new either. Lyon were even more dominant.

Yeah nah, don't think this will work out at all. He'll fall out with your Neymars soon enough.

This seems like a volatile mix. One more team to follow closer next season.

Contrary to the majority I think his sociopath ego could work well with all the prima donnas at PSG, as he doesn't take shit from anyone. Tactically he's capable and savy. Anyway, going to PSG is smart in his position, he'll win the league without problems and even if he gets sacked for not winning the CL it won't damage his prestige.

Enough to go by imo, at PSG he's to face what he hadn't faced before.

I'd love a Ligue 1 team to win the CL. Fingers crossed Tuchel can do it if he doesn't stave himself to death first.

A lack of trophies shoudn't be a worry unless the coach has been in the position to win lots of them.

Think individually they are good enough, Alves, Neymar and ADM are proven CL winners, Silva and Cavani have been great for a good number of years, Verratti is quality, also I rate Rabiot and Marquinhos highly, but it comes down to whether or not they can deal with the pressure of winning it

Greatest manager in the history of football if the Caf is to be believed. I reckon he'll do an okay job, win a couple league titles, fail to win the CL, and leave within three seasons.

So PSG crashes out of the Champions League to the two time (possibly 3 time) back to back winners and because of that they fire their manager? And because he didn't do well in the Champions League they decide to replace him with a man who lead BVB to 3rd place in their group with no wins and then crashed out of Europa in the first round? Ok then....lol

Great choice by PSG. They may not win the UCl but they will certainly be a great football team under Tuchel, provided he can deal with the egos. He's a very progressive manager even if i don't agree with some of his tactical ideas. (I personally prefer a less clinical and more romantic and probably chaotic part of football)

They hired someone who can create a philosophy and identity.

Also not sure what you going on about. They played the Europa due to Klopps last season. They reached the Europa quarters and lost to Liverpool.

They reached the quarters in the champions league final. They played Monaco and had that situation with the coach bombing and one of their players getting injured. Match should never have been played. So where did you get your stats from? He wasn’t Dortmund manager this season.

I suppose Potch is shit too.

It is a declining way of PSG for appointing Tuchel as a Manager. Philosophy is not what they need. They need to perform at Europe. Like Muenchen is.

Rather than splurging hefty cash for player transfer, they should use it to approach a better proven managers.

Lots of there better than Tuchel. Pep, Mou, Klopp, Jardim, Allegri, Ancelotti, Capello, and so on.

And why dont they aporoach Wenger. He is one of the best France manager and you will get him for free.

Many here says Arsene current years with Arsenal is suck. But actually, with his squad, he was considered very good. Imagine if he can have lots of talent like in PSG.

Just my 2 cents. Actually it is a good news for elite clubs in Europe that one of the best team hires a nothing Manager.

Sad state of affairs when winning a treble isn’t enough to excite. Or isn’t just enough full stop. City and PSG are diluting the game. Two teams that years ago would have been ecstatic to win a league but it’s now largely anti climactic.

I don't think it's about winning the UCL for PSG but atleast showing that they can compete with the bigger teams, I don't remember them winning any knockout tie against one of Europe's strongest teams since their investment (maybe Chelsea, though they weren't great) and I guess that is what has been bugging the PSG owners the most. If they manage to beat one of the Spanish giants and even make the semi-final, then they will think of Tuchel having a successful season because it'l be an improvement over what they have shown before.

If Tuchel can create a 'team' out of this group of individuals then they can definitely go far. That is what PSG has been lacking, they have always been a group of individuals and haven't found a manager who can gel them together, whether it is the fault of the manager or the players is another debate.

Hmm, not sure what the hype on Tuchel is about on the Caf.

Posters love to judge managers by the number of trophies won, but Tuchel has only managed one DFB trophy whereas Emery has won 3 consecutive Europa League cups. I don't really follow German football closely, and maybe his football style is attractive, but so is Poch's football but posters love to label Poch as a bottler. And I'm unsure of Tuchel's ability to handle the mega stars in his squad.

This is not to discredit Tuchel. It's all IMO, and I'm sure he is a decent manager and if he does well at PSG then well done on his appointment. All's I'm saying is that since PSG loves splurging on top players, I think PSG should also splurge on a top manager.

Tuchel is a solid coach, PSG will play good football. But will they beat the likes of Bayern or Real in a CL semifina with him at the helm? I don't think so

The first comment is not surprising given the second bolded comment. A lot of German posters rate him highly because he did very well with that Dortmund squad after Klopp left and the way they have declined after he left is a testament to how well he did the previous season (3rd, DFB Cup win and an unlucky UCL quarterfinal exit after having 3 of his best players sold, without his approval).

Hmm, yeah that's why I had to explain why I'm not sure about the hype. The things that he achieved that you mentioned are impressive, but I have a feeling PSG will require more than that. PSG is gunning for a manager to win the UCL. He already has an impressive PSG squad and not in decline and a huge budget. So if you reckon that Tuchel is the man to handle the big egos in the squad and handle the pressure of bringing UCL glory to PSG, then good on him and the board.
