Time added on...

Why is it that in the overwhelming majority of games, the 2nd half has much more time added on than the first half?

Normally we see for example 1 minute added on in the first half and 4 minutes added on in the 2nd half. How can this be the norm?

If the 2nd half added on time is supposed to account for the whole 90 minutes, whats the point of the first half added on time?

I just don't get it.

Subs and the leading team generally starts wasting more time as the game goes on.

Why does such a thing even exist in a game where the ref is supposed to stop the watch at every break of play?

A game would last about 3 hours then. Apparently in a 90 minute game we get about 60 minutes of continuous play.

It was refreshing the other day to see a ref blow up dead on 45. Well, 44.58!

There doesn't have to be injury time as a default is what a lot forget.

Yep that happens a lot in europe. Refs just don't bother adding time on even if there has been an injury.

Hardly every see that happen in a premier league game.

Yep, I remember being surprised by it in a European game, then someone on here rightly pointing out it's often the way.

But no time at all in England is a big wow. Shouldn't be though, especially not 1st half
