His performance against Betis reminds me of when my mates (all over 40) decide to play a football game after drinking too many beers. His heart is still there but the body had long since gone

I would start Heaton for the rest of the season. He's not the second coming of Schmeichel but he's a competent keeper whose main failing is playing out from the back, which we don't do good anyway.

He’s been at United for 9 seasons and played 3 games. He’s not getting anywhere near the first team guys

He's 38 and has played 3 games the past 5 years. He's more of a coach than a player.

Says a lot about our goalkeeping situation doesn't it?

If Van Der Sar was up for a game I'd have more faith in him on Thursday night than what we've got.

I mean, Scott Carson is still City's third choice keeper. He's even older and has played two games in the past six seasons. Chelsea have Marcus Bettinelli. Newcastle have John Ruddy. Having an experienced third choice keeper around who fulfills the homegrown criteria is pretty normal. The difference is that serious clubs have a good first choice keeper and a solid understudy ahead of them, rather than two inept clowns.

This. Not sure why we always have issues with the third choice goalkeeper here

Agree. He’s exactly the profile of player you have as a 3rd choice.

He’s at that stage of his career that it’s ok to never play, but he’s there if needed.

No point having a decent kid in this position, as they need games.

Very standard.
