It's crazy that PSG have more Instagram followers than us... and seeing City's rise over the last decade is hard to believe.

3) a little bit of who has the sexiest players.

we’re a long way behind on all three.
 
Lack of time on the big stage loses you the casuals. Last time we were in a CL game of genuine significance, YouTube vids only went 720p

seems crazy that man has stepped foot on the moon since we last stepped foot in a cl final.
 
KInda surprised to see Juventus that high on those lists, haven't had much, if any, success recently. No notable players either, kinda flying under the radar.

PSG are really popular with the 'youth'. Had a lot of big names over the years, like Messi, Neymar and Mbappe, and then their more recent success in Europe would have compounded that.

I also think that the kids like their kits because they're made by Jordan...see a lot of kids wearing a PSG kit in both my home city and during my travels.
 
Young people follow the best most successful teams, they've never known us be one of them. I'm in my 40s now, we haven't been a challenger since my 20s
 
With the way Insta, Facebook and X count "users" these numbers are worth as much as a promise by Donald.

We are not the club we once was, times change, the younger generation view us how we viewed Arsenal and Liverpool in their dry spells. The only way to turn that around is to win the big trophies.

Also, no legitimate “superstars”. The likes of Bruno, Cunha, Mbeumo don’t move the needle like Mbappe, Bellingham, Vinicius, Yamal, Haaland or even Olise

I wouod argue Bruno as he's one of the leagues best but you're correct in general. Kids like to see top stars and winning big trophies, we offer neither. We just live in the past

Bruno is a very good player, one of the best in the league. He’s not a “superstar”.

His appeal is largely sequestered to United fans and/or older neutrals that tend to be more knowledgeable about the game. He doesn’t appeal to casuals or young non-United fans like an Mbappe would even to non-Madrid supporters.

He doesn’t have universal appeal like the likes of Mbappe, Bellingham, Haaland or Yamal for a few reasons; United doesn’t win the biggest trophies, he’s a creative hub but not an edge of your seat dribbler nor does he put the ball in the back of the net as often as Haaland. Also, part of the superstar package is being “cool” - and understandably being older than them - he doesn’t have the same social media presence or “hip factor” they have. For reference; Mainoo was viral on Twitter yesterday for having the “coldest” Instagram pics/dumps/posts - if Mainoo had Bruno’s ability/output, and United was a winning institution, he’d likely be the closest to a superstar that we have

Casemiro and Rashford were United's biggest names on Instagram, with around 22 million followers each. Bruno is next at around 11 million.

I'm not strictly measuring "superstar" by IG follows, for clarification.

Some players aren't particularly active on IG and/or will often delete their feeds. There are just some players that have the "motion", and that cause kids to follow the clubs they play for even if they don't particularly support it.
 
City and Psg will be bigger clubs than us in 15 years if we continue to be shite

The next generations won't remember or care about Fergie and our treble

Football fans worth their salt would think Bruno as a superstar. Rest all glory hunters, wannabe football fans when big tournaments/finals roll in and wants to look cool.

People want to bury their heads in the sand and keep talking about history. The present is what matters and city will probably overtake our Premier league titles before we win one again

Being "football fans worth their salt" doesn't weigh much here. You're not a superstar if you don't move "glory hunters" and casuals.

I'd argue that in the prem Haaland is the only superstar (especially now with Salah being washed and gone).
 
There are some fans here who frequently remind others how Manchester United (and grudgingly, Liverpool) are the biggest English clubs in the world, that nobody cares about City, PSG etc. This is the reality dose for them.
I am sure in the 80's and 90's Liverpool fans kept saying how they are the biggest club in England while Manchester United under Sir Alex was winning everything and building large, international fan bases. Most fans are "glory-hunting plastics" for choosing their first international club to support. Nobody in Asia and Africa were supporting Manchester United in the 90's and 2000's because they were fascinated by the history of the Bushby babes, or were great fans of the holy trinity. They picked up Manchester United simply because of Cantona, 99 treble, Beckham, Ronaldo and the countless trophies Sir Alex won. That's the harsh reality.
