Going back and rereading the first few pages of this thread was a real trip.
If you mean bottom 5, then yesAre we still in it??
There's an argument, a very flimsy and poor one, but n argument nevertheless that whoever wins the Europa technically finishes 5th.Are we still in it??
There really isn’t. United would qualify for the CL, though. There's an argument, a very flimsy and poor one, but n argument nevertheless that whoever wins the Europa technically finishes 5th.
There's also still a scenario where if Arsenal win the Champions League, City/Forest/Villa win FA Cup, Chelsea win Conference League, United/Spurs win Europa and Newcastle finish in the top 5 then the Premier League would have 11 clubs in Europe next season. There really isn’t. United would qualify for the CL, though.
In addition, if United win the EL and Villa (somehow) win the CL and remain outside the top 5, the PL would have SEVEN teams in next year’s competition. Which really is stretching the word ‘Champion’ (although three of those teams would actually be champions, I guess).
