Ancelotti won 3 league titles in 3 different leagues plus a CL in the 2010's. Albeit two of the league wins were Bayern and PSG

I think 5 year cycles are a fairer method, Cruyff would be early 90s, whereas Lippi is deserving to be top 3 in the late 90s.

Wenger would also be in with a shout late 90s early 20s

Del Bosque is missing, similiar record to zidane plus the back to back trophies with Spain.

If Simeone is mentioned, then I believe Benitez is hs equal and achieved more will valencia and pool

Ferguson has more trophies than Mourinho in 00's and more CL finals. He has to be on top for that decade.

Don't know why you list 3 managers for the few months that have been played this decade. If you are doing it at all surely Flick would be on top.

A never-nude? I thought he just liked cut-offs.

Aye. Much more reflective of managers who brought through a team also, rather than the random ten year cut off.

So, Guardiola is the second best manager of 2020-present, which would mean the last nine months?

Checks out.

To answer the OP, for 2010s I would have
1. Klopp
2. Zidane
3. Simeone

2000s:
1. Mourinho
2. Del Bosque
3. SAF

Probably for me too. Yeah Pep made that amazing Barca team but certain managers knew how to stop them. Edit: I Think that was further back. Time flies. Mistake.

But today I would have klopp edging it... even over Flick.

Pep is not the same after getting knocked out of the CL there by Lyon. I see him declining a bit.

Yes, would reflect better who the top managers actually are. A lot of managers are only good at either one of the early or latter years per decade.

Maybe Stein for Rocco in the 60s. Possibly Paisley too but not sure who misses out.

97-05 best manager in the world for me was Wenger. Unlucky not to win a CL in that time.

So Ranieri in there as well then, if that's the case?

So 2010's

1. Zidane
2. Ranieri
3. Simone

:p
Besides winning La Liga with an underdog team (he faced fiercer competition in Real & Barca that were superior to any PL side in 15/16), he also consistently made it to the latter stages of the CL which included 2 finals in 3 years; one of which he was seconds away from winning and the other he narrowly lost on penalties. Moreover, he won other domestic titles and 2 Europa leagues in the last decade. He completely revolutionised Atletico as a team and elevated them from the 2nd tier of European football to having the reputation of and competing with the usual heavyweights.

Seems accurate for me. Only Carlo Ancelotti you can make a case for in 00s or 10s but I can see why you choose Pep/Zidane ahead of him.

Zidane is a fraud. Without Ronaldo, he isn’t winning those champions league. When you look at best managers, you have to give credit to managers who were successful without spending millions of pounds.
Klopp is number one in the 10s to present
Pochettino is second in the 10s to present
Guardiola is third in the 10s to present due to having success in different league, despite not really meeting my own criteria.

When was Pochettino successful? Did he win a trophy that I didn't hear about?

Pochettino overachieved in a club where expectations for success is much different than a top club. Not every club spend hundreds of millions of dollars in football and have a rich history of accomplishment. If that was the case, instead of the top 5/6, we will have the top 20.

Hitzfeld won in twice with two different clubs in that period and reached another final?!
