3-1 away defeat to Arsenal isn’t that bad a result for Spurs really.

They're rubbish and now have a Mourinho light manager. They're back at square one and their best player doesn't want to be there, add to that all their key players are on their way down rather than on their way up. They have no exciting talent in their squad. They will be 5-10 for years to come. They possibly have the dumbest back four in the league too, I just laugh every time I see Tanganga. He would not get into another PL team.

Yes it's huge. Arsenal is there top rival. They got completely outplayed in first half. Arsenal didn't try in the second half or it could be much worse. And this Arsenal despite prior 2 PL victories was unconvincing.

Nuno looking out of his depth already. If these results continue he could be in trouble with Conte available, if he'd even want to go to Spurs that is.

I don't think Levy has what it takes to attract Conte. I didn't follow Spurs closely this season, but from what I have seen from Man City, Chelsea and this game plus this post match, Nuno fell victim to pressure from above to change what he prefers to play. He's backed into the corner having to use all Dele, NDombele, Kane who having different issues. They were more a team in the first game against City. Now look like it fall apart yet again.

Conte is not the type to take orders on what team he should play. He would be stupid to join. And even if he joins, thing may explode as soon as first games.

Not the kind of stats you want to see as a Spurs fan.

They already attempted and failed for Conte before Nuno!
Because Levy wasn't prepared to fully commit to his project. He should have sold Kane for 100-120m and give him the funds to build the squad. Instead he is a coward and went for Nuno to steady the ship, and continue Kane and Son FC.

They are the epitome of anti-football.

I'd be furious if we drop points to this lot.

They should've gone all in for Graham Potter. Possibly could've attracted likes of Tariq Lamptey and Bissouma. With start Brighton have made Potter can now go to a better club.

Now feels like they'll keep appointing average european managers until they stumble upon a Poch clone.

I'm not sure Conte was ever truly in the cards given their financial situation and the amount of surgery need on their roster. But they absolutely could have, and should have, sold Kane and just turned the keys over to someone like Potter or Ten Hag and told them to rebuild the squad.

The core problem at Spurs is that from the chairman down to the supporters they are all a bit delusional about the club's talent level. Beyond Kane and Son, there really just isn't a lot of higher end talent on the roster. In particular, they have almost none of the players you'd need to play a more progressive, technical football. They don't have any CBs who are particularly good with the ball. Their CMs are really poor technically, except for N'Dombele, but he has the worst engine in the PL, which is basically just disqualifying. Maybe Skipp will be good enough to build around but everybody else in midfield I'd be looking to move on from. And they quite literally don't have a real #10 or wide playmaker on the roster (Lo Celso really isn't one, as you can see from his total lack of end product) so they don't have players who are threats in attack but also can drop into midfield, give them solutions in possession when they are running out of ideas, and just generally be secure with the ball. The spine of their team simply can't play with the ball.

Jose Mourinho isn't an idiot. He saw this too and set the team up to play the only way it possibly might be successful.

The irony is that they hired Nuno, who actually is used to working with teams with this kind of roster construction, but then told him that he had to play progressive football so they could get back to their DNA or whatever. So they have the worst of both worlds - a roster completely unsuited to playing progressive football and a manager who has been told he should try to play that way but doesn't really know how to coach it. If they are going to keep Nuno they should just let him play the three at the back, very cautious counter-attacking system that he played at Wolves.

But really they should just be looking to hire a new manager next summer and committing to a true rebuild.

How much is Kane worth now? his price is dropping each week, absolutely bonkers for Spurs to not even bother entering into negotiations in the summer.

Is this on Nuno or is it a larger problem than that? Seems like Alli has declined a fair bit. Needs a bit of a clear out maybe?
We need a major clear out for sure - honestly we have needed this for 3 years. Players like Alli, Dier, etc. should have been sold ages ago but they remain and stink the place out every season. Kane is obviously a big problem now for us also which doesnt help however he may end up as part of the solution when we sell him.

I'd get rid of the likes of Winks before Alli, one of Dier or Sanchez had to go, you kept both. I still think the attack is top four material, Kane, Son, both world class players, Moura is ok as backup to them, then they have Bergwyn and Gil as cover. The midfield is woeful, seriously relegation level, Hojbjerg is serviceable, but one average midfielder in a sea of mediocrity. Skipp is just a kid, so I will reserve judgement, Ndombele never fit or always coming back from injury, is just Taraabt v2.0. Lo Celso injured or coming back from injury constantly as well, Winks is bang average. And Alli only ever really flourished playing that one role off the striker, not sure he is cut out to play further back in midfield.

The stats are shocking, dead last for km's covered, a far cry from the Pochettino era where they were one of the leaders in that stat.

In fairness it comes down to Levy being an awful chairman. During his tenure at the club one of the few decisions on the footballing side he's gotten correct was Pochettino; who himself wasn't his first choice. Look at their managerial appointments apart from him though; it makes Woodward look competent.

He's kept hold of the likes of Rose, Alderweireld, Dier, Alli, Eriksen and Kane far longer than he should due to his valuations being pie in the sky and his ego believing Spurs shouldn't be selling to rivals (believing City, Chelsea, United and Liverpool are their close rivals is somewhat deluded). The result is stagnation for both the players (who naturally decline due to wanting out) and the squad. If these players were sold at the right time they'd have had £350m to invest over the last few years. It's the same with the stadium naming rights; his valuation is pie in the sky so they're lost out on millions over the last couple of years.

Now they have an aging, poorly performing squad with an unsuitable manager and no great funds to replace players and coaching staff. Add in to this nearly £1b of stadium debt and no Champions League revenue and it's a challenging cocktail.

The fans will be chanting "Nuno Out" whilst missing the much bigger problem which is Levy.

What's even worse is that we'll be just one point ahead of Arsenal and Lego Pep by tomorrow night.

Both teams form blows hot and cold, Spurs got outplayed by Palace. But it was not the same Spurs that played at Newcastle, in the Newcastle game they were a far better side than the Palace game.

Consistency issues, same as United. Still think United have the better team on paper.

The more I see Tottenham, the more I think Mourinho did a good job with them last season.

Their team is absolute dross. Their midfield and defence are absolutely awful.

It is weird they sold Sissoko, despite him being their second-best midfielder. Not saying much, but they have got far worse players than him.

Would be peak Spurs to go out of europe conference whatever it's called league at group stage.

Rennes are decent so I'd say it's no guarantee at all they'll win final game and you'd expect Vitesse to win at home.
